Personally, I am more than 100% fine with what NaNiwa did. Geoff saying how he'd rather NaNi fake it. As a fan, I can tell you that I'm completely fine with what he did. He took a massive pylon shaped shit on the stage of the Blizzard Cup after barely losing three close games and finding himself 100% out of contention with nothing at all but pride to play for. That's also why I'm discounting the ego comment, because truthfully ego would DEMAND that he go out there and bust NesTea's ass all over the stage like he did in both MLG and MLG-GI. I'm a huge NesTea fan (he's why I play zerg now), but I'm fine with both this AND how NaNi acted at Providence. I would MUCH rather my progamers being truthful to both themselves and the game than to fake it. It's like a girl faking an orgasm; it hurts everything more than it helps. And, honestly, what's the difference between doing something to tank the game and leaving early like Idra did for MONTHS on end? of course you're fine with it. it's so easy for us spectators to just go "i don't give a fuck, who cares what naniwa did?" i mean it doesn't affect you in any way. you read about it, get a good chuckle out of it and move on. absolutely no consideration for the people who took the time to put together this event at all. I mean who cares right? it doesn't involve you. lets just turn model esports after this whole "I don't give a fuck" attitude. and the counter argument is so ridiculous. "it's gom's fault, they shouldn't have a format like this". this is like justifying naniwa literally taking a shit in the middle of gom studio and going "well there's no rule that says I can't do that so it's your fault for allowing it to happen". seriously?

Pro Golfers do get away with cussing on the golf course (throwing a club doesn't necessarily get punished: "Displays of frustration are one thing, but outbursts of temper are quite another. Yelling, screaming, throwing clubs or otherwise making a fool of yourself are unacceptable and, in some cases, dangerous to yourself and others"). In other words, yes in many cases they do get away with it and it happens in every sport. The ramifications aren't always the same either. It varies from sport to sport base on the rules and type of game. In any case, there is no written rule for what Johan did and the discussion pretty much ends there. No written rule does not mean he should do it. Not doing something that is inappropriate even though you are allowed to do is a quality of an adult, which sadly Naniwa is still quite lacking. He did something that would bring criticisms to him, he has to live with it.

If you don't have enforceable rules don't go ape shit when a player doesn't show up or doesn't give it their best. Being dishonest isn't any better. Throwing a match is still throwing a match.

We all know the general salaries for about every occupation, right? Hell, we even know what "real" sport professionals make (at least outside bonus, sponsors and such). This scene is more or less a big black hole regarding salaries. No need to be specific, just in general. So you're thinking about dropping everything without even knowing what is to be expected? Yeah, that's not how it works in real life. Get my point?
