As far as what tournaments get covered, you also have to realize what is interesting to talk about. Talking about results are so definitive and uninteresting. You can talk about an interesting strategy or great game, but after that what is they're to say? You say it was a good tournament, any surprises, etc... and move on. However, opening up to a tournament means predictions, surprises, etc, which can take a lot longer and also be more interesting.
You also have to realize the sheer # of tournaments that go on nowadays. Many of the players are busy practicing, qualifying, or playing in these or other tournaments. They don't spend the tens of hours watching every tournament daily to see who places or watch all the matchups. I'm sure most watch some, but asking about games none of them watch would be as uninteresting as the GSL questions when they don't watch.

Well it's not like they actually know ANYTHING about the European scene.

Also focus seems to be shifted quite a lot on MLG, even the logo in the vid was very MLGesq. I still enjoyed the show just wondering what's going to be the focus in the future. its disapointing and annoying but what are you gonna do. none of them follow the european scene much and so there wasnt a whole lot they could say. the fact that 3 pro players dont follow the european scene is probably a huge factor into why none of them are playing up to their own standards but there you go :p we cant make them watch EU games if they dont want to. the only part that annoyed me was when they kinda BM'd nerchio for his poor lan performance, when all of them will tell you 1 series of starcraft doesnt mean anything. just means nerchio needs to stomp idra out of another league x) Yup, Nerchio did well in + Show Spoiler +IEM, 2-0 Huk in group stages. Seems like Europe finally has some good zergs with Stephano and Nerchio stepping it up. Maybe Morrow will finally ZvZ if he gets some good practice partners.
Yeah, finally they have Zergs. Dimaga has been such a scrub his whole career.

Yea, I'd like to see the tournament coverage more relaxed, kindergarden-style "talk about a match you enjoyed this week"
About IPL in particular, besides the prize pool it plenty of anti-hype elements: super delayed casting, less than hottest players (♥ them but it's not up to NASL or MLG), follow-up event is in a casino with 21+ only attendance, sounds like IGN is going with "let's see what we can get away with" and I'm more amused that they weren't throughly bashed.

So you want Idra to call Incontrol bad? No offense, but these guys can say whatever they feel like. They're pro-players and have much more insight into the game than we do. It's not like Incontrol thinks he's the greatest player either. He repeatedly said things like "I have no room to talk" so... pretty sure all the EG hate is irrational crap. If these guys didn't just speak their mind, this State of the Game would've been pretty boring instead of the best one ever. Plus, everytime Idra calls someone bad, they pull amazing results out of their ass. He said Nestea was terrible and he's one of the best in the world. I just think your initial comment is inflammatory and not well thought out. Might as well replace it with "I hate EG."

It was ladder abuse (getting free points in some way), not maphacking.

Wasn't it because he was making alt accounts and getting free points for TSL2 because everybody was dodging him and the top players?

They've shit on Morrow's ZvZ like 10 times now on the show and the reason always is that there aren't that many good Zergs on Europe. Glad to see some rising stars is all I meant.

Honestly considering Idra called Naniwa an average protoss at best I think we can safely say he is biased when it comes to recgonizing the skill of anyone who dosen't play zerg.

It's not like anyone hides the fact that you give more respect to your teammates. They even joked about Idra giving away the Huk transfer by shaking hands with him - purely because that would never happen if they weren't teammates.

Well he's always been cocky. Idra probably thinks he's #2 in the world behind Nestea, and that's only begrudgingly acknowledging how good Nestea is.
