I want to hear numbers, not just pr-talk from incontrol, but real numbers! How much money does EG lay on the table? How much did offer Liquid to keep him? How much did EG have to pay to buy him out?
you aren't going to get numbers . . . that is not the type of thing that anyone would release to the public

yeah no way any numbers get realized. In fact I'd be pretty much shocked if they spend more than 10 minutes on the huk thing.

You're trolling about the 10 minute thing right?
not at all. Whats there to talk about? Eg = happy, liquid = sad, Huk=business is business. 10 minutes is being generous actually.

I can understand him being sad, his friend left his team. I can understand him being happy, his friend is making a lot of money doing what he loves.
But mad? I would never be mad at a friend for this.
well, he won't be mad about the fact that huk left but because of the way EG announced. It would be understandable at least, because it doesn't feel right to announce it like they did. In my opinion it was a pretty disrespectful way of announcing it.
It was a very good way to announce it like that imo. slowly giving clues to the community about EGHuk so they can get used to that Idea. If they would have announced it just in one post like that, there would have been far more upsets and uproar
i can see your point that it was exciting, but - i guess you read the "mystery announcement"-thread - there were many people hating the policy of EG and they might have sidestepped this by just having teamLiquid announce it. It might have been a "boring" way but maybe a better one and imo more respectful.
To be fair, I cannot imagine they had predicted there would be a 600+ page thread about the "mystery". There was really no logical reason for the community to produce so much traffic on the forums, and their way of announcing it would not have felt so weird, if it would have stayed as a 12 page thread or something (I bet the 600 page thread would shrink to a dozen pages, if you would remove all posts that repeat something that was already written in a previous post in that same thread).
I am basically suggesting, the over-the-top part of the mystery announcement was produced by the community, not really EG, though they are probably super happy with how much exposure their brand got with it.
Well, then what do you call them releasing a countdown with released hints in decoded sound bites and different comment and videos? lol...

What 10 mins? More like 10 mins of hype saying they're going to talk about Huk before actually talking about huk!

It really has been blown out of proportions by fans. Sure the tl players/staff probibly feel hurt. But really there's not much drama to discuse. Both teams knew ahead of time. TL got the contract bought out so they benefited a little bit, eg gets a player so they benefited, and huk makes bank.
The whole reason puma was such a big deal is that nobody saw it coming. Out of the blue there was a huge thread with a bunch of drama. With this everyone on teams knew about it, and most fans guessed it.
So no, I'm not oversimplifying it, it's a pretty basic story.

I would think this will be talked about for a minimum of 1 hour, especially if Tyler shows up

Agree with this. The only reason we think it's such big news is cause of the viral marketing or whatever, which produced such a big thread. Otherwise it's a team change. Does Liquid feel sad about this? Probably, but there's nothing to talk about there. The EG Korea house is more interesting though, so I expect they'll talk more about that than Huk changing teams.

of course I am! I'm not going to re-visit all that bullshit that fans felt entitled to say. My point is this. The Huk story is big. But theres not any real big juicy news on it. He did not back stab tl. Tl was compensated. Eg did a good job in their press release, and huk wrote a very good message to all the players/staff of eg. Sure tl(the actual tl not the fans) may be disappointed, but everything went down exactly how it should. This was how transfers/signings should happen!
The fans are the ones trying to make this bigger than it is. The pros on sotg will realize that, and all I'm saying is I'd be surprised if they talk about it very long. Maybe I'm wrong and half the episode will be on it. But I doubt it.
Yeah, pls don't spend to much time on this huk thing. Not everyone cares that much about simple player transfer. I'd like you to focus more on huk/idra/puma living and training together in korea
