Maybe it'd be cool if she had a Darth Vader app put over her voice or something, but I can't help but fast forward the vod when she's talking. I don't know if I'm in a plurality or minority or what, but I listen to the show to hear Tyler and Artosis', and sometimes Day9's, take on the state of the game, players, games, tournament results...and the validity of Leah's input feels like some random person grabbed off the street in comparison. She's a nice girl, is no doubt extremely dedicated, and I truly look forward to evolution of her involvement over time, but any time it's her and not Tyler/Day/Artosis, the opportunity cost goes through the roof. Mind you, the same sentiment applies to bad choices for guests. My heart and mind is in the players and personalities who, by some coincidence, have been around for years, are funny, have good chemistry, and provide insights via a platform that isn't all that common in starcraft 2 right now.

That's why I wouldn't want someone like AskJoshy on the show either. Anybody =/= you. But regardless, my basic point is that it actually doesn't matter, at all. Even if you didn't like what she was saying she was hardly obtrusive. Totally agree. Also, I love how people think that Leah just appeared on the scene once she was on SOTG. Like she wasn't worked for G4 before this. The argument is so dumb Uber-Starcraft-Fan: "I demand that anyone on a show about Starcraft be an expert in the game and be 100% involved with the game" Rational-Starcraft-fan: "What about people who have years of experience in the video game industry and reporting? Those people could have valuable input too" Uber-Starcraft-Fan: "What does that have to do with Starcraft?"

See, I actually don't understand this. Yes, Tyler, Day9 and Artosis often offer really great insights into the game that we wouldn't get from anyone else, but it's not like every time they open their mouths, they're just spewing gold. If a guest knows what to talk about it works out, I don't suddenly throw my hands in the air every time I hear JP's voice and say, "Fucking asshole! I'm losing Tyler time here, man". I was alright with seeing Kennigit on the show, I liked seeing Hot_Bid on the show, and Leah has been good so far too. She offers some insights and echos some opinions that I happen to hold as well and she remembers the games she watches so she's helpful in that sense too. If she starts cutting the other pillars off and talking over them then I'd say sure, get her off the show, but I don't see how you can suggest that any time that someone who isn't Tyler, Day9 or Artosis talks, the opportunity cost goes through the roof, guess what, they don't always say stuff that's more interesting than everyone else, at times they might even just echo one another's sentiments and having someone else say something different may be more productive. I like having people who aren't exclusively pro-gamers as guests on the show, as long as they don't detract from it which none have really done so far.

Therefore, given the options, Tyler/whoever/whoever/intelligent person who has a constant conversation with the game (doesn't fucking matter who), is better than Leah. Neither she, nor her fans, should be insulted by this. I liked Kennigit, too, but would it do well for the show to have him on every week? And all I remember HotBid doing was sit there with sunglasses ;o. It's good to change it up, and I won't cry bloody tears if things aren't absolutely perfect for me, I just get most out of my experience listening to the show when it's those 3 guys talking. As I said at the end of my post, I like having people who aren't exclusively pro-gamers as guests on the show. So I guess we're sort of in agreement. I just felt your were slightly hyperbolic in your suggestion that it's a big deal when they're talking and Tyler, Day9 or Artosis aren't talking. I think non-progamer guests can offer just as much insight depending on the topic and situation and provided they know when to offer that insight, which in this case, Leah did.

The thing is though that SotG has evolved past being a show thats just centered around sc2 gameplay. Sure Tyler/Artosis/Day[9] offer a far greater insight into gameplay then Leah, but the show isn't just about the gameplay anymore, they also cover events and how they went (On this weeks it was NASL). In that sense Leah does offer insight, she gets payed to write articles about the events and as such visits the events representing a rather large company (in terms of the video game scene anyways). I'm not saying that she should be a pillar on the show, but it is insulting claiming her insight is worth nothing on the show. Also, jp does a poor job of incorporating guests on the show, both leah and sheth barely said anything because jp forgot about them.
