As most of you can tell from the millions of posts flooding into the forums now that the beta has "officially" gone down now, even if you can mass enter on the US Server you will find that you will be disconnected momentarily after.
I personally, would like to thank everyone who was involved in the beta. I had a wonderful time playing the beta and getting to know the game before the rest of the world :D.
Even through the ups and downs of server issues and *epic* fail patches, we all made it through alive!
I hope everyone had a great time with the beta and had the chance to experience what is to come!
Thanks to everyone who did commentaries, replays, strategies and tournaments. You made everyone else's experience so much more fun.
I hope to see everyone once the official game is released!

BW will never die. It's like.. Aliens from the Aliens series. No matter how many fricken times you blow them up, they still end up poppin out of your stomach later.

No, that's not new. And did it really go down? Because I'd have at least assumed Blizzard would've given us a general time that the servers would be going down like Phase 1.

I know you can test maps with the editor, i didnt know you could watch replays with it as well..

Retail client doesn't have anything to do with the beta client. I will keep it until I get my hands on the retail, then going to uninstall it. My comp just feels so naked without an sc2 installation

To watch your replays without SC2 running: Take one of your replay-files and drag it over either Starcraft2.exe or SC2Switcher.exe (Supportfolder). At least that works for me.

Ya im surprised we didnt get an official time or warning or anything, alst time they even gave us an extra 45 minutes if you were logged on
The good news is that offline gameplay still works, you can watch replays, play CMS (Custom Maps Settings) and offline launchers to play against computer AI.

dont hold your breath. You may be able to watch pro level games for another year, but the BW servers will be pretty much dead within a couple months of SC2s release, if not sooner

Honestly, I think there will be a slight drop in users on the BW servers, but I think that too many people still will be playing BW that you prob wont notice a huge difference.

Well, all the top BW amateurs I can think of in the US and Europe are playing SC2 and not BW...
Kinda sad, I got to play 4 hours or so this go around. My girlfriend has been sleeping over and I haven't been playing.. then tomorrow she's going home and I was getting a bit excited about filling my time with some SC2.. but... grrrrrr...
Now I don't know what to do!! I guess I have to go play HoN for a week or something. Brood War just isn't cutting it right now. No automine is pretty much /wrists at the moment.
Just a few wins away from the 25 Protoss victories avatar, and I decided to do grocery shopping at Walmart thinking that I'll have plenty of time to get the avatar before midnight. I come back home and see the servers down... FML

Which is what? Make people appreciate Melee more?
You got it, sir!
Wasn't melee always the way to go? I bet you were Samus/Link lamers
The beta was really special. I haven't felt this childish excitement about a game for SO long. A really awesome experience with coverage from an awesome community. Can't wait for the release!

I absolutely detest Samus and Link in melee Dx
As for when if comes to Starcraft 2, I was very happy to play it at first, then during downtime I played quite a bit of Broodwar. When beta came back up, I realised I just prefer the feel of broodwar for the moment...
Will buy Starcraft 2 and play it to death though, hoping it isn't a sequel to The Matrix ^^
