As has been pointed out to me, the old replay thread is a bit outdated, especially with phase 2 now out and about.
So, here's a fresh start.
This thread is for posting any and all replays that you want to share with the community. Seen a nice replay somewhere else that you want to discuss? Post away. Played a nice game? Upload it somewhere and share.
Unlike for phase one, I will most likely not be compiling replays and putting them into the OP, or at least I will be more restrictive (kind of burned myself out trying to add EVERY replay), as it honestly became too much work as the number of players in the beta grew and grew.
However, on the off-chance that I have the energy for said maintenance (or someone else on staff does), feel free to still put them in the old format:
Update Replay locations changed in phase two - here are the new ones for Vista/XP:
For Vista/Win7 (I think): C:\Users\REALIDREMOVED>:D\Documents\StarCraft II Beta\Replays\Multiplayer
For XP: C:\Documents and Settings\YourNameHere\My documents\StarCraft II Beta\Accounts\YourAccountHere (keep clicking, lots of sub folders) then create a Multiplayer Folder next to the Unsaved one.
http://sc2.ygosu.com/sc2_replay/ ygosu replays, in case people are lazy - still all phase 1 atm, but will likely be added too once beta is fully back up

I'm pretty sure every kind of replay parser will have to be updated with each patch to work with the newest version, and I'm sure SC2 Gears and sc2rc.com will come out with an update soon.
I posted just before the old thread died, so let me restate whats on my mind:
With phase II beginning, I'm dieing to see new replays. Replays now start on faster! thank god, and they go up to 8x speed. I would post something but I suck. So instead, I made a site to facilitate all of you wonderful people out there. Let's see some replays, we only have 10 more days!
edit: as to why we require you to make an account to parse replays ... pretty much the same reason people normally require you to make an account to post in the forums I guess .. so we know where ithe replay came from. Plus in my case the replay system is tightly integrated with the forums and upoading a replay also makes a topic for it so that people can comment on it like you see on http://rts-sanctuary.com/index.php?portal=RTS&showtopic=185200
Sick back and forth action ZvP for 45 minutes on Stepps of War. I felt like rage quitting at least 6-7 times throughout the game.
Quick preview:
Action starts off at the 8 or 9th minute mark, toss doing the trademark PvZl 1 base warpgate push, I got way too greedy and still haven't quite figured out how to deal with a 1 base Warpgate after expoing as Z, shit hits the fan, pretty much constant action from there on until the end.
Here's some more good ones to get replays from, in addition to the list above. http://dl.178.com/sc2/ [The guys that did the "World Cup" tourny in P1) http://www.playxp.com/sc2/replays/list.php (Not on Phase 2 yet, but if you don't know who PlayXP is, do a search for the name on the TL search.)
Hey, and this guy is awesome. A non-registration replay upload site.

Terran can't handle the epicness of his defeat and yells at me in chat. (I know I was lucky, and that I'm not a good player -- he doesn't have to be mean about it!)
I've set up an ftp for sc2 replays. Just upload any interesting replays to the upload folder and they will automatically be categorized in sub-folders by ordered by date.
Here's a link to a single game I played this morning, some good battles and if anyone wants to see my unique build order as Protoss, check it out! Lots of micro/macro, different units, etc.
Has anyone from europe been able to open any phase 2 replays, e.g. the whitera vs tlo showmatch? If so, how did you do it? All I get is a black screen with a starcraft cursor when I try the good ol' trick dropping the replays on StarCraft II.exe ...

You will only be able to view the replay if your map cache matches the game map. If you get the error message about referring to content that is no longer available you need to make sure your map information is up to date. The way i do this is just go to host a custom game and as you click through the maps you will see which ones you need to download.
This link will take you to a replay database search form where you can set race, patch version options etc ... we only have about 9 replays with Terran from this patch atm but none of those are TvT .. supply of replays is pretty slow atm
I think you could have won that, you could have taken the 11 o'clock expo which had more than enough minerals there, he had nothing but a few stalkers and DTs.
Pretty intense game.. Im amazed at how solid White-ra was at defending all that harassing, he really showed some resilience and why he is the best foreigner in the world. I didnt think he was gonna win either, but he somehow pulled it off. Amazing, and I'd never want to face you as a terran =[ looked like a total pain in the ass.
Four of my drones seems to decide that chasing the scouting SCV would be a good idea. As you can see in the replay, I only select them after they run off, but they seems to turn back by themselves.

Btw Merikh/G4MR good job on modding day9's stream :-)
He tried to do an all in ling 10 pool. Luckily he didn't know I don't go ling/bane in ZvZ because I think it's scrub. My Simcity won me the game. I opened 10 pool into roach. Built spine crawler -> 6 lings -> Queen then roach warren. Defended with my queen/6 lings and my spine crawler. Right when I lost nearly all my units and my spine crawler my roaches popped to finish off the lings. (You could make 2 spine crawlers if you want) I think this opening is pretty strong and you can expand after the first attack. Make sure you build a evo chamber after you expand to defend any "muta rush". Then just move out after you have a few roaches. Even though I didn't get to that point.
ah, oops, just read OP. Are replays not parsing or something? I have a game vs garimto i'd post but every place I try to upload it it doesn't parse or says player names are missing, progamer replay hiding conspiracy?! lol
edit: guess new parsers aren't out or what not. Here is me vs garimto on steppes, close game I was indecisive late game

That happens when the scout crosses the path between the mineral patch and main. I guess they rather try to go around it and the pathing AI makes it weird. But yeh nothing special, have this happened a lot.

Ah, thanks, that makes kind of sense. I've just never noticed it before. I would call it a bug, even though minor.
i find the whole thing ironic, this is one of those games where if you made 15 starports with tech labs and pumped out battlecruisers you would've won LOL. gg anyways was very well played by both, that warp prism changed the game
oh yea that archon use was the shit btw wow. we've not found a use for it!
If you want to upload a beta phase 2 replay into a replay system rather than just throwing it on mediafire you can do it at http://rts-sanctuary.com/index.php?portal=SC2&showforum=155 .. you will need to be registered to post a game but browsing and downloading doesn't require registration
I normally don't put myself forward like this, but a friend and I played an awesome 2v2 match which features early game proxy and harass, a demonstration of why you should meet in the middle with your ally, air harass, TvT style tank standoffs, battlecruisers and a finish with bases almost dead and desperate hero-hold-mode fighting.
1st, let me start by saying i'm a huge, long-time starcraft fan, but i never really got into multiplayer, and with starcraft 2 coming out, i'm ready to go ahead and start playing. i LOVE watching replays and seeing all the strategies and stuff. love it. i'm about 20 games into the beta, and i have only 3 wins. =(
it seems like i always try to emulate what i've seen work, but i do scan/scout and try to anticipate what's going on rather than just blindly following a formula. it also seems like i go for cookie-cutter teching, and i'm losing to simple massing strats. if anybody has any tips and pointers (i'm jopezu in the replay, the guy that loses), i'd be grateful. in the replay i make 2 major mistakes and hopefully (if there are people here that aren't already awesome!) you guys can learn from it too.
first mistake- i know where he is, so i figure i can medivac drop 4 loads on his base, but i don't go around and run into an incoming MM ball - bad timing, but i still should have been micro'ing the medivacs. my heart sank when i flipped back to them and only 1 was barely still alive.
major mistake #2- i probably could have repelled that base crushing attack at the end with a couple of tanks in siege mode. i shouldn't have charged my own troops pass the blockade either. noob mistakes, but with so many losses behind me, i'm learning. =)
my personal take is that i'm doing mediocre (i still have a crapload to learn about macro and production) and i got really taken down by the 2 main mistakes i made and got quickly, irreversibly crippled. i mean, the guy didn't even tech up pass tier 1, and i got wholesale slaughtered. also cringeworthy is my nooby SCV production halt around ~20. it's intimidating still that i have base expansion to learn while maintaining my main base/assaulting/defending.
Void Ray opening vs Fairly standard Terran. Game progresses into Colo/Carrier vs Viking/Marine and is pretty hard fought on both sides. Should be decently entertaining! (and hey, it's a Carrier replay!)
[url blocked] I don't know exactly what replays are in here, I think they're mostly my horrible tvp losses, but there are some decent games tvp/tvt in there too. I don't know if there are any tvzs or not. All are diamond level with me as terran, from phase 2.
Here are a few interesting games that I played today. Been fooling around with different types of harass. I would encourage you to watch these replays if you're sick of seeing ball vs ball boring play.
PvT against FE Terran. I used blink a lot. After the game he told me it was next to impossible to macro cuz of the crisis management, not much experience w/ that sort of thing.
Had a very fun ZvZ match, completely back and forth. Both of us are Bronze, so nothing too fancy. It's Nydlus vs muta/baneling harass..... was pretty close.
A very good site for sc2 replays with good overview of must-see games (gold crown) and good games (silver crown) ... many korean/china replays.. A bit slow, but completely enough as the replays aren't that big of size...

Ok, a little background info on this 2v2 right here. I'm playing with a friend who just started playing sc2 a few days ago. He's playing on my account and I'm playing as "JustAwesome"; You'll Notice me living up to that name here.
This is a vs I'm playing in gold, but like I said; my friend started playing just a few days before this match.
We decided to do an early zealot push, which ended up working relatively well. Suddenly we where surprised at the amount of units they had managed to dish up, and after a bad battle our army was wiped. I Immediately throw down a forge and start teching for Colossus. Because of my cannons (which finished just in time), I manage to barely hold my own base, but my friend now had nothing to hold them off with.
I have now been pushed inside my one remaining base, and this is the situation:
I'm red, and my ally is blue. This is what you normally would call a "bad situation" Oh, and we're now 15 min into a 45 min long replay
I don't like to brag, but this is an epic epic match. Seriously, go watch it :D
how you failed to win that is beyond me. did you even look at your resources? at one point you had like 7000 minerals and 6000 gas. why didnt you throw down like 10 starports and get mass BCs? whitera was struggling to stay in the game and his economy was being eaten up all the time. all in all a great watch but very strange that you lost.
EDIT: Those were just posted, I'm not sure if they're the latest version or not.
Unable to open replay This happens a lot to me! Are you sure they're phase 2?
Same here... you know, I don't think they are. I'm sorry man :/
NP Just got to work on those tournament replays. Anyone thinks those games of Devil vs. mTwaka or whatever were a little sub par? I mean I'm sure the players can hold their own but it didn't seem 'pro' to me... just my opinion
Edit: Oh, and any replays from Idra/Sen from phase 2?
I was just about to post this game... I read your description and was thinking 'that sounds exactly like a game I just lost'. Turns out, it was the game we just played! Good roach burrow at the end.
That was a great game. I liked that you turned the base trade in favor of Z by expanding north!
Maybe Nydus can be used a bit more. My problem is that often I will play on cr4ckshot's terms in a game like that. If it had been my standard play vs. him, I would've been forced to withdraw to my base and he would push forward slowly but surely. Eventually, I'd have to make a move, and I would get destroyed. You just cannot go head to head as Z.
This game confuses me. The terran's macro was terrible. After he destroyed your mineral line with the initial hellion harass there's no excuse for letting the game drag out. He wasn't making any scvs during the entire thing and had a 800 mineral build up :O
Some of these replays are awesome though... keep them coming.
What an extremely back and forth game replay, players expanding and destroying each other's hatchery and CC in a wink of an eye! Huge limits, smart attacking from 3 sides and pure unit trades make this game unforgettable! The Hottest and longest game from Korea!

The game was so newbish, I didn't bother finishing it. Macro was horrible on both sides.

Impressive game but badly played. Broodlords would have won the game so easly. He wasted so much ressources building Ultralisks. The overlords drop in-front of terran army was bad, he could drop directly into the tanks.

He didn't use fungal growth properly, went for wrong tech, couldn't macro his resources down on many occasions (over 1k plenty of times).
I'm sorry to post something not related to replays, but sometimes I don't understand people saying "omg he had over 7k minerals, his macro sucks". Sometimes, there's something called saving up minerals, or using minerals effectively, looking at the long run.If someone was over 700 minerals in the first 10 minutes, that probably means he's just bad unless he's doing double expansions, which I cannot think of a viable way of pulling this off in sc2. But in the dalailamer vs whitera game, i don't think his macro sucked.. There's limited resources in the map and sometimes, decision making > macro.
EDIT: Since this is a rep thread, I'll upload some games from yesterday's IT something tournament
I can hear sound, and hit Alt+F4 and it asks me (In a SC2 Popup in game) if I wish to exit SC2. Same thing for anyone else? So process didn't crash. Anything yet?

simply means they're phase1 beta replays, which so far no one have found a way to view them. make sure to look before downloading replay if theres a place that says the patch the game was played.
Move the C:\Program Files\Starcraft II Beta\versions\base16036 folder anywhere outside the Starcraft folder(such as your desktop) and then drag the replay file to the SC2Switcher icon. To play again, just move it back.
Just renaming the folder worked ok for me - I renamed it to \XXXBase16036 and it was fine.

I post this replay asking for advice, it's probably not a particularly entertaining game but I had no clue what to do in this situation. 1 hour and 8 minutes of a completely turtled terran who I think thought he would win just by making me quit the game.
Other than being more aggressive early game so it doesn't get to this point.. how should I handle it?

Thanks for posting, I really want to watch some replays from the fist patch of phase 2. When you say the "SC2Switcher icon" what do you mean?
you have to drag the replay file onto the file SC2Switcher.exe which is in the \Support directory of your StarCraft II install .. easiest way I do it is make a short cut to that file on my desktop and just drag the replay onto it
btw just got 6 replays from WhiteRa from his recent firendly with attaxMardow posted up here
I think you would have been in trouble if he had chosen broodlord / corruptor rather than massing more roaches and getting ultras. He had the income to make the switch, and I don't think anything but an overwhelming number of ultras could have taken on that mass of tanks. Just my opinion.

Yeah, that works. As said before, you can also just rename it.
I would suggest that you all check out this PvP with WhiteRa and Tester from WhiteRa's site, it's just mind-bending. I'm pretty sure WhiteRa broke some laws of physics in that game, or at least some general guidelines of the matchup.
Thanks guys Yeah thats probably the first time I've ever busted out BC's in under 25 mintues. My economy was raging but I was having to focus so much on the battles I decided to go with something big, expensive, and that couldn't be attacked by Ultralisks.
Azile: I would do exactly what you did but earlier, instead of throwing your units to his tanks. Drop in one place, if he moves there, retreat. Build corruptors and broodlords (as you did but earlier) and take bites of his space a little of the time, when he moves to kill your units with either thors or tanks you retreat. Finally, when you have him clumped together in a very small area you can attack from all fronts in the same time. Dropping and sending broodlords from different directions.
You should also be careful, he could probably have attacked you when you didn't have any gas at all, be sure to spawn larvae alot so you can replenish your army and take all gas. Buildings don't cost upkeep so you could have build more hatcheries.
I agree, fast expanding to the gold was a very creative move. He also used the Infestor's new ability to use Infested Terran while burrowed really nicely. I think it demonstrated that IT's are beginning to become a bit more useful now that Infestors can cast it while burrowed.
However, I think Dimaga made a few mistakes. I'm quite saddened though that the Spire turned out to be an absolute waste. The Ventral Sacs for the Overlords also turned out to be very wasted as he didn't attempt any drops at all. He also did not use the Roach Burrowed Movement as well as I thought he could.
In the end, though, the reason Dimaga lost was that he got a bit too greedy putting all his money into Expansions and not into an army. He also failed to get any kind of Anti-Air, so I thought your Banshees and Battlecruisers were really cute. Being on like 4-5 bases, he might have been able to pull out some Corroptors (thus making the spire not be a complete waste) and Roaches and held on a bit longer though, since I think you were on 1 and a half bases in comparison (cute Roach blocking your CC from landing).

Dimaga's play late game kind of sucked. He definitely should have transitioned to ultras or broods earlier. He was just kinda sitting at hive with roaches/infestors for way too long. Good game though.

Damn i couldn't resist it, i was playing around with this build for the last 2 days and i seriously have a 100% win rate with it. TvT , the following replays where the closest of the games 1 of them vs a #1 diamond player on euro with 500+ rating, i am a random player top 20 myself with 300~350 rating. Normally i just run people over with it since they don't see it coming and i guess they don't know the counter yet?
DAMNIT!!! Can't watch any V19 replays! I really wanted to see the Idra games
To explain again what has already been explained earlier in this thread
Workaround for watching replays from 0.19
1. Go to the directory where you have StarCraft II installed. 2. Look in the folder \Support and make a shortcut to the file SC2Switcher.exe somewhere you can access it easily like your desktop 3. Look for the folder \versions and rename the folder \Base16036 - I just added XXX to the start so it became \XXXBase16036 4. To watch a replay drag it to the SC2Switcher icon you created in Step 2.
When you want to play online again rename the folder back to \base16036.
WARNING: When you exit the replay the game will try to patch itself. I use ZoneAlarm firewall so I just set it to block access to the internet for the version of SC2.exe that sits in the \Base15976 folder but you could also unplug your net of just closer the patcher as soon as it starts up

To anyone else who's watched this replay, I have a question:
Why does Tester expand when he does? I cannot see anything that tells him Masq expanded, so it seems like a completely blind expand that magically works.

I just realized I didn't check to see when Masq took his gas so that might have been part of it, I guess.
Does anyone in here have working ZvP videos where the Z wins? I'm looking for good diamond replays. I keep hitting a brick wall in that matchup, toss just keeps outproducing me even though I have an economic advantage for most of the game.
An easy way to watch pre-patch 17 replays is to just cut the latest version of the game(Base 16036) from the versions folder and paste it somewhere like your desktop. The replays should work then. When you want to play the game just don't forget to put back the latest version in its folder.

Fast expansion Terran vs 3 warp gate protoss. He doesn't die and a fairly entertaining clash results. The loser leaves the game without gg, not because of manners but rather a accidental surrender misclick (but the game was pretty much over anyway)+ Show Spoiler +
I totally threw the game away though T_T don't know why I didn't expand

Yeah when terran does not take any gas like the normal build of 13 gas, it usually means they are going for an early expand/4 rax marine spam. So if he saw the late gas he probably instantly knew the build that Masq was using.

Zerg always wins, Diamond rank 27 (as of right this moment). Enjoy!
Sorry, mate, i've checked all replays you uploaded and should say there are no your "wins", that are your opponents "loses". And to my mind, games are barely gold.

That's enough hard and really mass text to type but first, look at your foe's apm, almost all games it's far not close to, say, 100. I do believe you in diamond and all those guys are too, but could you show here the game where you faced up to player with at least 120 avg apm and game duration would not be as 10 minutes. Cheers!

Sadly, you don't need an amazing apm to be good at starcraft 2. Day9 has a daily on that one too.

are you seriously correlating skill level to apm.
To discuss the following subject you should: 1) watch all replays he has submitted 2) read carefully what i wrote in the first sentence And at least you will see that it's the most simple and relative factor to use for player skill and game feeling. P.s. And again, i don't say apm is the only option to analyze!

Just so you know, there were plenty of 120 APM B- and above in SC1. There were also plenty of +300 APM D players

I never met any 300+ apm d players low apm player existed in sc1, but were much less common than 200+ apm b- players. sc2 this is less of a factor as you can get away with much less apm (mbs, mass unit select, etc) this has already been discussed to death in other threads anyways

Hard to win with 20apm. You had no micro in battles, your macro was lacking too. You should practice this to get better at it. Strategy then. If you're gonna VR rush, either do it very fast, or if you do it lateron, bring a bunch of them, not just one. Could have overwhelmed him with 3 VRs seeing as how many trouble he had with just the one. Oh and expand.. he wasn't going mass lings so you can expand rather fast. Brood lords are a joke if you have a bunch of blink stalkers. Just blink underneath them and shoot them down. Your BO is also weird. Your third building is a forge, that's such a waste.
my first league game ever , while at the bottom of silver league. well i wouldnt post such low league/standing game but it was pretty wierd , and even after 15 min of game i'm still literally rolling on the floor laughing. So decided to post , pretty quick game anyway. first game ever against a platinum league player , base race , roach kiting etc.... ( oh by the way , thanks for a platinum opponent for my first game battle.net )
Heya, i won 5 placement matches and i got placed in the gold league. I thought that 5/5 gave you a guaranteed spot in platinum, at least thats how it worked in phase one.
Not that it matters, i was just curious if this is normal or not.
ROFL at that idra vs masq game. At the start of the game the atmosphere was so very friendly. Of course I know better than that and I was just waiting until the end for the punch line. I was not disappointed.
Guy's I'm having trouble loading my replays. I took out the base whatever folder to revert it back to patch 19 but I get an "unable to load maps" message whether I try playing the replays on patch 19 or patch 20. I'm trying to watch the dimaga vs white ra games that were played last week.
What's the deal with those infested marines? I've never seen someone commit to using them like that before. It seems like NP would've won him those battles.
Game starts with a lot of extreme cheese from both sides: both base-trading and pylon/photon ramp contain included! What follows is a 40 min game back and forth with lots of hand-shaking moments and near-GG situations.
Game starts rather normal but without any early push on the Zerg's FE. Next there is a bit of phoenix harass to annoy the zerg and keep him contained. What follows is an EXTREME Mexican standoff without the standoff part. Two armies separated by a distance of no more than one screen dishing it out for 30 minutes straight. Hydras, Roach, Zerglings, Ultralisks, Banelings vs. mass Gateway units and yes.. CARPET STORMING! 200/200 battles, maxed out upgrades, attempts at sneaky expo harass, flanking, a single expansion left on the map, and much more.
IMO, a great game and definitely one of my better ones.
Personally, I recommend both games - Game 1 is fun because of the cheese and the ridiculous battles. Game 2 is a joy for the eye with the carpet storming and the hundreds of zerg and protoss lives that were lost in its making.

I had the same thing, I won all my games, the last one was even vs a platinum guy, and it put me in gold. Does it look at other things besides how many games you win, like game time and game score (and apm?) or stuff like that?

Anyone else unable to load up the Masq replays from a few pages back? Everytime I try to load them, it first states that it is an older patch, so after hitting yes to revert all I end up with is a black screen and the blue ingame pointer. The only way to get out of that is to alt-f4. Totally strange
i cant get the replays to work. I put them in the correct folder even right next to my other ones. Then if i double click it to watch it loads to black screen. If i log into Bnet the replays arent in the folder but all the ones that i saw in my folder are. just not the downloaded ones. what am i doing wrong?

1. Move the folder C:\Program Files\StarCraft II Beta\Versions\16094 to the parent folder C:\Program Files\StarCraft II Beta\ 2. Drag your replay to the C:\Program Files\StarCraft II Beta\Support\SC2Switcher.exe 3. Use TaskManager to exit sc2 and do it over.
Move the folder back to get the recent replays working.

Thanks to everyone involved in the tournament, and all the support, especially the donations(which went exclusively to the players)!
Void Rays have not been understood by any player so far. I don't claim to be the player that does, but I do know that they have so much untapped potential its ridiculous. This is a replay demonstrating 2VR/Phoenix build that should never be able to be defended by marines without the Terran taking massive losses
Plexa vs Alexmahone Map: Blistering Sands League: Diamond Link to Replay
I don't profess for this to be a mistake free game, but tons of shit dies and there are lasers flying everywhere. Alexmahone plays really well and there is a nice broodlord/corruptor/roach/hydra vs stalker/colo/sentry/VR/Phoenix clash at the end
Not sure if anyones interested here but i got a new youtube channel up shoutcasting matches in HD. Atm doing some of the ESL Go4SC2 23 cup matches and did WhiteRa VS Masq 3 days ago. Got plenty of other shoutcasts there so feel free to try it out.
I got plenty of games from top ranked players but my intention is to give a bit of room for the so called "underdogs" so we can all get to know some of the new players most people ignore. Also i dont intend on cloning anyones shoutcasting style so i promote a style that tries not to overwhelm whats going on the match you're watching and avoids directing where you need to look. The objective is to keep it slow and steady and let you all use your brains instead of me force feeding you junk while you're watching.
Anyway, i dont do this since SC1 and i kinda skipped BW so im the first to recognize a need to improve a lot and have loads to learn, so feel free to criticise / comentate on what you see / hear and if you think it might have some potential...well subscribe and give it a shot. Thank you for your time.
I usually don't share replays but this one was so epic I just had to upload it. Epic base trade results in both mains gone, and a techless zerg vs an economy-destroyed terran. [url blocked]

I need some incentive, you know
I have that problem in TvP, every game i watch, T just get rolled
Well in T there is some good creative players to save graces, but besides Mardow and maybe Sen (tho there is no replays of him in phase 2) and the occasional TLO, there is rarely a good zerg player to watch.
wow, avilo vs rantech... man, even though it was a one-sided beatdown, it's the most exciting game i've seen thus far! avilo, you're scary - you basically set the pace on that one and poor rantech was in defense mode the whole time as you crushed that whole map!!
he also seems a little in the dark about the reaper's grenades - funny that you didn't respond.
Here's a few replays from some practice games I played with a friend. They are all PvT (I'm P, he's T) and we are both diamond (if that really even means anything haha). These are some of the best SC2 games I've ever played, hopefully they're as enjoyable to watch as they were to play.
Edit: Somehow I'm a whole other level of retarded and forgot about WinRAR and it's awesomeness, here's those replays proper.
I got this replay here I need help understanding. It's a gold level crap game, but I seem to be stuck at this level of playing currently, could someone help pointing out what I should work out in my game? I'm the terran player.

This game has the sweetest baneling kills you will ever see.
My opponent was really thick and kept trying to hammer mass marine. I actually completely suck with zerg (usually I play random and I'm trying to improve my off race on the last day of beta) as you can tell by pretty much everything in the game. Didn't matter though, because the only thing that did matter was that I knew Baneling > Marine.

You guys need to zip/rar a folder with all the replays (you can download winrar for free to do this), no one is going to download 15 individual replays from megaupload (40 second wait each or something like that)

Day9 creates backups of each SC2 so he can just do the drag and drop method. If you are unfamiliar with this it is when you drag the replay on top of the "SC2Switcher" located in the support folder. If you didn't create backups you can try moving around the Base##### folders located in "version" to "Downgrade" to each version of SC2.
does anyone have any unknownart replays (aka madfrog from war3) he is was 100-36 and top of EU ladder during terran imba, so im curious what his builds are like.
Please help me out on this one guys. Now that the beta is down I wanted to watch all my replays of phase 2. But whenever I am using the drag drop method to watch pre patch 17 replays it launches another SC2 version and when the replay is done loading there are only sounds and nothing on the screen, but I can see and move the pointer around. While the post patch 17 replays can be viewed without any difficulty.

FYI SC2 Manager version 4.6 is out and allows you to play single player against the AI or watch replays for the latest patch 18.
This is what I did to get it to work for single player as the replay section is still the same.
Download a previous version of sc manager. Links on other thread.
Once you start SC Manager it'll open a window asking you to download latest version. Hit the OK button. Its the one on the left since it's all chinese.
Click the button to start a single player game:
Follow the instructions on how to set up a singleplayer game.
NOTE: I could NOT get GreenTeaAI to work. I gave me an error. Not sure if anyone else will have this problem but I was able to use any AI that did not give me a (list index out of bounds -1) error.
Once you choose your AI make sure your version is set to 0.21.0.16094. It's the box to the right of the AI box.
*If you changed your versions to XXX in order to watch replays, I believe you must change them back to the default*
I'm not sure why it only allows you to play BaseAI. I had the same problem but looking into it further.
Freshii: if scmanager doesnt work try doing it the other method.
Copy the SC2switcher.exe onto your desktop
Rename the "Base16036" folder to "XXXBase16036"
Drop your replay onto the SC2switcher.exe
This is what I had to do before I used SC Manager. If you are using SC Manager you shouldn't have to do anything but load the replay through it and hit start.

Servyoa such a trash player. Basically 10rax into bunker rush blocking entrance every single game, followed by 1base cheese of your choice.
The combined virtue of being a cheeser and terran seems to be enough to make you a top player. It's gonna win you at least 90% of your TvZ games without much effort, no matter the calibre of the opponent.
I'm impressed unknownart can keep such a sick record. But most of his losses were against trash terrans when I reviewed his match history.

the 90% cheesey noobies you described also do dumb stuff in TvT as well lol. Lots of Terrans are cheesey for some reason.
Here are some replays from the ESL tournaments. I do believe all players are diamond level but I'm not too sure so don't hold me on that. These are the only replays I had named so I'll look for some good ones tomorrow, but the tournament games were pretty good IMO. Lol, no SC2 is so boring...

I think my strongest mu is tvp currently. So here's a list of my variation of the 1:1:1 build for tvp. I lost my bio tvz reps, so I think these ones are the recent 1:1:1 builds as well. TvT, build varies by day, still looking for one to stick with. These opponents all have a rating between 400-600.

I don't know servyoa and I'm not sticking up for him. But the following has to be pointed out, for fairness.
You are a genuinely awful ZvT player. If replays were still saved automatically, I could probably dig up at least 7 or 8 games I've played against you in phase 2, where you simply did everything wrong. Stuff like sending down 5 drones to the bottom of your ramp to stop the bunkers, wrong units, wrong transitions, very poor timing and sticking with too few bases for too long, trying to micro a tiny army to victory (war3 style noobism), etc. Your game sense for this matchup is completely off. Call people cheesy noobs all you want, but realize that you're not playing the matchup correctly at all.
I'm almost sure Lalush comes from a SC background, and I think he plays ZvT pretty well (I have no idea how he plays vs cheese, I've never tried to cheese him)... But my TvZ isn't that good.
Also, about cheesy terrans - I think this has been true ever since SC1 - terran is just a real toolbox race, there's a lot of stuff you can do with them. I don't really see anything wrong with it, as long as it isn't too strong.
I mean, for years in SC1 people had to put up with terrans going bunk rush and then fast expanding if it failed...

So what do you suggest me do against the bunker? Nothing? Let it finish?
Thankfully, blizzard endowed drones with some of the greatest AI ever seen in any RTS game. A drone will stop attacking an SCV that changes position while building a building, it will simply bump into a corner of the bunker and lose its attack command.
Even if I bring out 7 drones there's no guarantee the SCV doesn't submerge itself under the bunker, going into invulnerability mode for 10-15 seconds while 7 dumb ass drones stare at it going "Ughhh, work, work, WTF?", doing absolutely nothing.
Surrounding marines with drones? Lol my drones are on ice skates they just glide past them in all directions. Then after you've wasted 5 drones and countless lings stopping the rush, your opponent salvages the bunker in 5 seconds and laughs at you, LOL, love it!
According to your description, it sounds like I've pretty much tried everything. With nothing working. I don't deny I completely and utterly suck at ZvT, thus the constant whine about the matchup. But cheesing with your race should really be tied with more risk than it currently is. Also, Jinro doesn't cheese, he likes to be elegant, only reason I play ok vs him. Wouldn't have stood a chance otherwise.
I think it takes a certain type of mind to be good at ZvT. The real solid defense oriented, not letting anything or anyone budge me or my game plan, sort of player. These guys are like walls, completely unphased by their opponents. You throw something at them, it bounces back.
There are very few of these players. Most prominent ones in BW being jaedong and flash. But once they emerge they dominate everything, dismantling cheesers easily by scaring them to death. Real frustrating playing a WALL.
I'll never be one of those players. Only one I've seen in SC2 remotely capable of living up to being a WALL is Sen.
Perhaps TvZ is balanced. But just like at the start of the beta, when zergs easily dominated terrans (because initially the basics of terran were much harder to learn), the full extent of zerg knowledge is yet to be learned. A great wall has yet to emerge, with the countless wall-emulators to follow.
Meanwhile, it's very frustrating. Because your race seems so ezzz. You score ezz wins, while zergs play without any direction and do stupid shit like me.
Kinda new at commentaries so feedback would be appreciated!
Not bad for your first attempt. First thing I noticed was to much favoritism towards white-ra and toss in general. It's ok to have a favorite race as a commentator but it shouldn't be shown so much. About 80 perc of your camera time was on toss.
Just a small thing, turn unit health bars on...people like to see health of units, especially when he did the HT drop is when I noticed. Other than that just throw in some flavor: "very poor use of siege tanks not leap-frogging them up the field."
Well since the beta is down all we can really do is watch some reps, but with patches most replays are old. My buddy and I played a ton of games together tvz and had some pretty cool games and I figured why not share. I still have alot to work on, but I think the games are entertaining and you might learn something from either of us. Not the best of the best, but we both come from rts backgrounds.
Due to playing these games on the weekend it was our duty to have a good time, some small talk about intoxication if that bothers you sorry only had a hand full of reps to pick from due to deletion/patchs, but if you do enjoy the finer things in life as well, you will get a kick out of Tanks and Thors with 40+ kills
Sorry for the little bit of offtopic but I couldn't help myself. As for the lalush/servant argument.
Lalush, imagine the terran expanded before rax, and u did a 10 pool. U win. Is it a cheese? No.
9 rax is no where near a cheese. It is a solid ECONOMICAL opening, which relies on the fast OC. It is not the MOST economical in the long run, but everything has its trade offs. Its not like, as it is with cheese, that if you scout it, you win. A 9 rax is a smart opening aiming to punish you for your cheesy and risky fast expand. The bunker is a response to your late pool. A 9 rax is not risky, it works versus everything relatively well.
Its something like you doing a 30pool and crying because u got destroyed by 12 rax. You're taking a risk with such an early expo, which could pay off in the future, and servant simply punishes u for it. You're actually cheesing, as if he scouts you and does a 9 rax you have a hard time defending, while his opening is solid against everything. Good play by him imo.
I know I am repeating my self but how can I watch in my Chinese launcher watch replays version 0.21.0.16094. You guys are talking about replays that I can't get to watch. Any help would be welcome.

Once you have the latest version of the launcher it should play everything post .19.
Also for those wanting a harder AI to play against, since SC Manager only allows BaseAI, I suggest trying SC2allin1. The latest version doesnt support Green Tea AI, but will in the next version. In the meantime you can try playing against Very Hard or Insane AI with it. You can also watch replays if you're having troubles with SC Manager. Oh, and it's in english. Plus. http://sc2.nibbits.com/assets/starcrack-allin1/

There's no other option than fast expanding as zerg. Sure I could 14 pool to be safe (and I often do), but to be honest, even 14 pool doesn't stop servyoas bunker rush where he blocks your entrance. Either way you need an expansion as zerg because terran are twice as cost efficient.
Only way to stop servyoas bunker rush is anticipating it and bringing out drones to block "just in case" (unless you 10pool, but that's not very likely is it...).
I'm not saying 9 or 10 rax shouldn't be able to kill me off. But as it is now bunker rushing in SC2 is tied to too little risk in my opinion. Even if I defend it succesfully, it really doesn't give me any advantage, nor any chance to counterattack. I've still no clue about the followup. Super fast banshees while he kept me busy? Hellions coming soon or is the terran FEing? Marine tank all-in?
Sure, i'll put down the roach warren just in case. Then I'll make a couple of roaches to be safe. Then Lair. In the meanwhile my drone production sucks because I don't have any minerals because I need to account for all 1001 ways in which a terran can scew me over.
In the end it feels like I'm just better off guessing. Skipping roaches in favor of drones. Or skipping roaches in favor of fast lair. And that's why you see me get all these pathetic losses in ZvT. Because I'm forced to guess -- or else I lose anyway.
In my opinion they should remove salvage from the bunker. Terrans don't use bunkers in the original context Blizzard intended with salvage. Meaning massing them in mid and lategame pushes. They just use them for riskfree superboosted rushes.
Plus 10 pool doesn't translate to 9rax, because it is in no way a solid economical build. It's giving the terran a free win. What the hell are you going to do with 6 slow lings anyway? Defend an expansion? 6 lings are worth shit against 1 reaper. They're worth shit once the first hellion pops.
Now what have you achieved? You've stopped the bunker rush, you've managed to delay dying to slightly later (because of crappy economy). Great.
Cheesing with terran doesn't include any of this. They got a decent economy from the OC (free SCVs), making their cheese stronger because they can spend the minerals on units rather than workers (remember zerg have to spend 150mins on queen too, but then another 150-200 minerals on drones for the equivalent of the MULE mining rate).
Terran are just designed for cheese and 1base play in every imaginable way. The unit diversity, the macro mechanics, the risk free bunker building. In ZvT you usually end up with a zerg on 2 bases, who is matched in economy by a terran on 1 base well until the terran gets up his own expansion. Meanwhile he's constantly been harassing the crap out of you.
Takes a wall type of personality to stop that, and to be good at the matchup...
Hi all, kinda new to the commentary field, but I wanted to post one that I thought I did a better job on. This is one between Painuser and StrifeCro on Scrap Station.
can't all people who link their youtube commenterys on starcraft 2 games also provide a replay aswell? Don't take this as any hate on all of you who does link your awesome commentating but this is a "Replay thread" if im right and I kinda want the replays for movie editing if im finding something nice.
(maybe TL admins should make a youtube commentery thread aswell <3)
I had an epic game I wanted to re-watch but as I was looking through my replays I couldn't find it. I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I couldn't find anything anywhere about replays not autosaving for some reason. In Phase 1 I had a full list of games all listed like Metalopolis(1-9) and so on but this time I noticed numbers were missing for some reason. I lost some of my favorite games and I wondered if this was just me or if anyone else had the same problem. Plz lemme know.

Hey, here's a phase II replay pack from me. I finished phase two as a 589 diamond zerg, and most of the games in this pack are around the last couple days of beta. I think i was inspired by dimaga's all in approach, because most of the games are relatively short. Couple macro games, the highlight of the pack would be a very good game with qxc in the ESL open tournament's 3rd round.
really crazy game in my opinion, just wanted to share with you. blue is my noobness, guffelboi vs a much higher apm player. i played in platin as zerg it was on one of the last days of the beta. if you are bored waiting for sc2 to come out take a look.

Doss, thanks for the pack! Your playstyle with Zerg matches mine. You don't just sit there and make drones, you go and attack the enemy (and it appears from your replays, the enemy is astonished that you aren't just sitting there and making drones).
What I find nonsensical is the notion you are 'cheesing'. Making roaches and banelings early-game is no different than a Protoss making stalkers and zealots early-game (they are all tier one units). I've noticed some players, especially Terran, believe they are entitled to turtle at the very beginning of the game because they can wall themselves off. If Zerg and Protoss are vulnerable to early rush, why not Terran as well?
It also is not all-in as the game can easily transition into a macro orientated game. For example, your game with that Terran player who banshee rushed you ended up going on for over half an hour. And you might have destroyed the Terran if he didn't hurry and kill that last remaining extractor.
Edit: Saw your game with qxc. I think the problem was that you allowed him to be the aggressive one throughout and allowed him to frame the game. Eventually, he began to gain more income than you through his third base (while he denied you your third). At that point, the game was over. I'm curious why you abandoned your usual dimaga style of playing as you went into Idra mode against qxc. But overall, you did very good unit control especially with your infestors.

I'm glad you enjoyed my replays. Well, if my replays were timestamped you'd see a very fast change from a macro orientated, into that front pressure that was highlighted in the pack. I was just trying something new for the last couple days of beta, the majority of my games have been fast expanding, with a defensive posture.
I just see an opportunity for zerg to have their own timing attack against a couple of the more common T or P builds. P usually doesn't have very many units before warpgate tech + 4 gateways comes into play, and terran build a small amount of marines before transitioning into mech. My goal was to just attempt to exploit that small window and see if it was possible to win a game, or end up on top economically. However I still need a lot of work to be able to balance the forward pressure with gaining an economic advantage.
Yeah, that mass banshee game was pretty funny. I made so many banelings, and if i scouted properly I probably could have won. That guy walled in really well too, which bought him time because I had to produce more banelings. Against qxc, when I was playing the game I was just caught up being in a game with a well known player for the first time. Even though I had the clear advantage at some points (especially when I had just defended his mmm + tank push, and my ultras popped), I was certain he had more units just around the corner and any attempt at pushing was useless. Good learning experience for me.
In the end though, I switched over to zerg when I started to watch idra play, the macro game is where I am most comfortable with. However, blowing shit up and not having 30 minute games is pretty nice.
I was clearing out my replays in anticipation for the release and decided to just upload a bunch of games I felt were decent and could help new protoss players out there struggling. During Phase 2 I played a LOT of games, probably over 300+ and was ranked as high as 12th overall (1 in the division), with a 650 ELO. I'm not the best player, but I played hard and was dedicated to testing new builds I could use, particularly against Terran. Here are some Reps that I hope can help other P users as well.
The replays should include the folder you need to "XXX" using the SC2switcher trick to view it in the name to make it a little easier for you guys watching the reps.
Using a similar build husky casted of me doing vs Avilo going into carriers, this build does short harass keeping T in his base while teching to Legged Zealots and getting an Expo eventually into Carriers.
I have never seen a reaper show up in my base as fast as this game shows, watch one technique to hold off this build.
