I thought it'd be kinda funny to hear some of your guys' silly blunders in beta.
One of mine was on Metaopolis and I was playing terran, my opponent also being terran. I assaulted his natural and I had all my unit producing building's way points set at his natural to keep up the aggression, while, naturally, producing SCV's. After taking out my adversary's natural I was held up outside his base. Keep in mind this was a good 2 minute battle before I succeeded. I noticed my mineral income was horrendous for the time that had passed and how many SCV's I should have had mining. I then noticed 2-3 SCV's running up my opponent's ramp and getting obliterated, also realizing I had set my CC way point to his base. Idk, in-game i found it hilarious but now that i read this, its not as silly as I thought, hehe.

So, can any one top me? Lets hear em ^_^
That has also happened to me...playing 1v1s and accidentally sending my workers to the other base. I blame the fact that I'm a zerg player and there are two rallying points...so many wasted workers = so many wasted minerals.
Another one was that I went mass void rays for the hell of it on 2v2 twilight council (while my partner did nothing). Anyways long story short, my 20 vrays met 50 hydras at the opponent's base. I'm pretty sure you know who won...
I was playing on my friend's copper account (I'm a diamond player), and it was blistering sands. The match up was TvT. Right after the game started, I lifted my CC and sent it over to his natural. After it landed, I finally made my first SCV and started mining. I had built 1 rax, 1 fact, and did a push with marines and two tanks (LOL @ him not leaving his base at all.)
By the time I was pushing, I tried to go up his narrow ramp, but noticed that he was about to push at the same time. Noticing the similar numbers, I happily pushed and thought I was going to win the fight.
But I forgot to research Siege.
In the end, I lost the game (narrowly), but I cursed at myself because that would have been an EPIC win with the siege.
EDIT: the reason I lost the game was because once he won the initial fight, he had one tank (looow hp) and like two marines left. He had siege, and plopped his tank and started owning me. Remember, I was at his natural so it's pretty damn easy to get me like that.
At one point I thought it would be fun to mess around in the build order tester and try to get some ghosts for some 1 basing antics. Did a pretty standard opening, 10 depot 12 rax 13 gas adding raxes at necessary. When I got to 150 gas I was like "oh great, now I can throw down my Ghost Academy! Woah, why do I have so much gas left over? Doesn't it cost 150 gas?"
"NO," I thought, "it must only cost 100 gas!!!" -_-
Now I can barely stand to make ghosts because every time I'm reminded of those weeks I spent thinking it cost 100 gas.
I scouted a 6 rax reaper on metalopolis as Protoss and proceeded to forget my second pylon. Noticed it ~ 5-10 seconds after, then sent a probe to build it with what i thought was a que command back to the minerals, and then went back to my scouting probe in his base. It wasn't a que command. Yikes.
After a long week of finishing my exams, getting barely no sleep at all, I finally get the time to relax and play some SC2. I decided to play a 1V1 match as random, and when the match started I spammed 'S' and 'D' like I usually do to make drones, but nothing. I go on for about 2 minutes confused and explaining to my opponent how my game is glitched. It took me a while to realize that I was protoss and taking it as a sign I GG'd and went to bed early.
I got nydus wormed in my main...killed off the rush and went to counter...but forgot to kill the nydus network. So he just sent another wave and killed all my probes and nexus...I nerd raged and quit. :/
TvT on metalopolis. Guy did a drop behind the smoke with 2 med vacs and some rine/rauders. I got caught a little outta position as I just moved out to secure my expo. A little while later, I pushed out all the way to his base and then saw two med vacs in my base and gg'd. Turned out they were empty and just forgotten about from the first drop =\
i base traded with a terran who barely managed to escape with one rax lifted in the corner. i had probes spread out all over the map along with 8 in a warp prism, but neglected to make another building while chasing his barracks..sigh. i think the supply count was like 80 to 15 in my favor too haha
I assumed for the longest amount of time that Cyber Core still required 200 minerals. I was always puzzled to find out why I had so much spare minerals even after plopping down the Core.

Pretty standard, anyone see that video where Tasteless lifts off to the center of the map Metalopolis and then Day9 accidentally scouts him? Well I "accidentally" didn't scout the guy and then got pushed so hard.
Also, learned about cannon rushes into the black fog-o-war abyss just next to my main the hard way.

HAHA That is Horrible! I Can Only Imagine How Funny The Toss Thought That Was. I Think The Greatest Moment I Ever Had Was When Banshees Decided To Attack My Mineral Line.. I Had My Overseers But No Hydras... Waiting For This Stupid Den To Finish (95% Once They Started Attacking) And Right As It Hits 100% All 6-8 Larva Turn into Overlords.... I Was Very Sad To See My Hand Was Not In Its Normal Spot And I Thought I Was Spamming "H".... V Is Not H.... So I Get How You Feel....
(FYI: Overlords Do Not Kill Banshees In The Slightest...)
I was playing a 1v1 on desert oasis against one of my friends (at the time I was platinum and he was gold, when plat was highest).
It was PvT, but I really don't have any builds for desert oasis, so I decided I would DT rush. Down goes the twilight council, then the DT shrine. I cut most production so I had just 3 or 4 zealots when my DT shrine finally finished.
I warped two dark templar in over the wall, when suddenly... Banshee with cloak. Well shit!

I accidentally rallied my worker rally to another base on metalopolis as well, so I had three workers just sitting there. Early game... So I screwed up my build and the enemy (T) won
Going for Blink Stalker rush with Hallucination to get into the base from low-ground. Start research for Hallucination right after putting down my Twilight Council.
Spamming Chrono Boost on my CC/TC. Sentry energy ticks to 99..
Upgrade Complete! Upgrade Complete!
Thanks, Protoss voice!
I move up to the cliff, select my Sentry andddddddddddddddddddd.... I had researched Warp Gate.
I don't think it cost me the game, but I felt so cool as everything came together at once, just to find out I had researched the wrong thing. I was kind of wondering why it took so many CBs to finish Hallucination...
On one of my first protoss matches it was a PvP on kulas. I went gateway into an expansion after winning an early battle. I thought I had the game won since he hadn't expanded yet. I decide to attack his base and at the same time he sends void rays out to kill mine. It becomes a base race and I'm like, "im gonna win, ill just spend all my money on buildings at my nat." Well we killed each others' mains at about the same time, but he had a probe dropping pylons around the map, meanwhile I have a bunch of probes but no money to make any pylons... Ended up losing with the slower ground army...
I believe that was the last match I played as protoss.
I wanted to go gas pool in zvz on LT. As soon as my pool finished I spammed build queen, but it didn't start producing. Supplyblocked? No! Enough minerals? Sure! Why does my pool look like an evo chamber?!?
Maybe my opponent is not that good, so just build a pool and keep playing. The pool finally finishes, but the queen icon still is greyed out. U can imagine what had happened - I built another evo instead of the pool.
I played random on Desert Oasis against Zerg, I spawned Terran and thought it would be a good idea to double Starport banshee rush him. So i was building 2 Starports and 2 techlabs then i tried to build 2 banshees but I couldn't affort 2 at the same time. I was wondering, why are banshees so heavy on gas. When both "banshees" were at like 70 and 80% i realised i was building 2 ravens . I canceled both ravens asap and started 2 banshees, but my timing was horrible. As my first 2 banshees finished my opponent broke my wall and 40 zerglings stormed my base. Somehow i managed to destroy his base while my CC was lifted in the air. I think that was the first and last time i mixed up the hotkeys of raven and banshee xD
Best blunder i've seen is "Nexus cant lift off" Mine is continually spamming e for scvs when i tried out terran while getting up my expo. This is when i realized how much protoss i play
Misclick my scv's rally point on another scv this way they follow around the scv but dont mine themselves and you don't get a notice bar that you have a idle scv so that is just gg
I've definitely managed to get to like 50 food without remembering a cyb core OR EVEN AN ASSIM
ffffff
[edit] Also lost a base race because I didn't put down any pylons all over the place. I was like I COULD ACTUALLY WIN THIS-score screenFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
I always set my robotics way point to the enemy base for my first observer. Then later on i realize my immortals are are running across the map to their deaths.
In the beginning I sometimes had rally points set to units, which dies and leaves the rally points in the enemies base. Wondering where all your marauders went and watching 3 of them just walking into the enemies base is, well, duh.
My partner (Z) left and so did his (also the Z) so we had full control over our Zs as well. (I was T btw)
So eventually I resource starve him and I did a cheesy thing early on which was quick tech to mass ravens, which is pretty fun, and so he's down to his Zerg resources basically.
He then steamrolls my base with zerglings (I guess he was out of gas) and my T base gets wiped out, and I saw my orbital command but decided to keep mining instead of lift.
I then destroy his P base with autoturrets and PDDs and proceed to destroy his Z base completely. As I'm about to destroy his last photon cannons I realize something.
He's going for my Z base.
And I have no defense there.
And he only has lings.
A floating building would be perfect, but all my terran buildings are gone.
It is a race against time, time slows down, minutes turn to hours as I spam as many autoturrets as I can, which is about 40 because I have 20 ravens.
My first game in SC2, I rolled Terran as random, and I scanned him to see Banelings, low HP units, and I was like: Marines shoots fast and stuff, I'll go mass Marines against Mass Banelings, needless to say who won
The first time I ever tried to make a Planetary Fortress, I assumed I could just make a Command Center, make a PFort, and just lift off to my new base.
I obviously ended up with two bases in my natural.
Lost Temple, builded up my army, was feeling so good , had really strong army, went to attack. got to the base and I realised I forgot to scout the map and sent the army to wrong base, to the base location that i played previous match, 1 sec after realising that i saw my own base getting demolished ...><

WTF ITS NOT!!! i honestly didnt know that and now i need to rethink ALL of my Protoss builds lol
This happened shortly after I started playing the beta.
The game was on Metalopolis. PvP. I think I was at 1 o'clock my opponent at 9. The game goes normal, I make push with gateway/robo army while having 2 expos already, and destroy his main. At this point I find out that he has expanded at the bottom left but he didn't have any army at all. I destroy all his buildings at his main while now having 2 more expos, basically controlling the whole map while he is cornered at the bottom left.
I arrive with my army there only to find out he has build ~50 cannons and around 10 gateways. Back then when I just started playing after seeing this I thought to myself that it would be cool to make carriers, void rays, blink stalkers from my 5 bases to win against his cannons. I end up pushing but he has massed sentries which combined with the cannons melted my army. I still got ~5 bases but I panic, and start making mass stalkers.
At the end he went out of his base with his ~30 sentries, and destroyed all my bases.
Moral of the story, if you are still newbie, and have 5 bases vs 1 base you can still lose.
I sometimes have an issue playing Z, where I'll move all my hatcheries rally points to wherever i'm pushing for quick reinforcements. If the push is going well, I'll have to throw some overlords into my reinforcements to keep from getting supply blocked.
Then, I pull back, thinking I did a decent push. Power drones, take another base, rebuild ar- wait a sec...I'm supply capped? Look to opponents base where a few overlords are suicidally cruising there way to the rally point. I had since changed it, but those OL's were build during the push, and I forgot to move them back because they're slow.
I'm a toss player but I recently started playing zerg/terran to improve as a player overall.
Some of my most common blunders are as zerg/terran. I love selecting my harvesters as they mine for some dumb reason(not to spam my apm is still very low) and I tend to do it for the early part of the game just to keep me busy. I also like to hit "s" for make scv and "s" "d" to make drones. Some of you already get the idea...
So many games I actually stop my harvesters mining b/c i'm not paying attention to what i'm doing which really sucks b/c then u have to re-split like 10-15 workers and u lose lots of mining time(thats if I even notice which doesn't always happen lol)
My biggest blunder would definitely be thinking that hatcheries cost 400. In my defense I never played sc:bw and I play toss so I had no idea that it was 300. At least now I understand why my expansions always got mowed down by zealots so fast....they were superlate lol
I played against someone who nydus rushed me and he failed the first time then, i played him straight after that and he did the same exact tactic and managed to beat me...
I was finishing off buildings in a game I won, and the guy says "gg". I expect him to leave, and I see the "opponent will be revealed", and for some reason I thought I won, so I left the game. Didn't occur to me that the "you win" button didn't show up.
I just builded my 3rd cc and put it in the group of my others. Just then a qued to mutch scvs and wanted to cancel some. Well guess what got canceld at about 90 %...
Another story: I played a pvt and after the game we talked about how you can stop blaaa in this matchup. My enemy just had 1 depo left and after the talking I just said bye and left. He even messaged me and said he was sorry for distracting me .P
For the first 20 games I thought Orbital Command costs 35 gas
Then I watched a replay of morrow doing a 2 rax OC build without gas and thought how can he do that? That must be a bug in the game. How come no one has seen that?
I then moved my mouse over the thing and looked at it for a couple of seconds. Then I thought: Yeah it clearly says 35 and a green square behind it. It must cost 35 gas. How has no one seen that!?!??
5 games later i noticed this was the building time
In a PvT on Kulas Ravine, cross map, I pushed early with Zealot/Immortal and just as I get to his base he drops a handful of Marines into my base and snipes my Nexus before I can warp in enough Stalkers to kill it off; I'm now broke and have no income. As I'm destroying his base, he lifts off and moves all of his buildings to another main and starts mining. I destroy all of his supply depots and the go attack his new base. I destroy most of it and he starts flying away. I chase down his Factory, so now he only has a Barracks and an Orbital Command, which are in the air, and I only have 3 Stalkers and 2 Sentries. He put them at top and bottom of the map, out of my range. He then goes AFK and I'm forced to quit and lose a game that I had one. >.<
For the first couple weeks of beta when i started playing i didnt look at prices for old buildings since i figured they'd be the same and i was right..
until i noticed the cybernetics core didnt cost 200 anymore ' So id basically save up 200 or so everygame before making my cyber core It prolly messed up alot of things
It took me a good 10 games as toss to realize the cybernetics core only cost 150 minerals. I always wondered why I could build a probe right after saving 200 minerals for my core...
But the one that really stands out was a ZvT on blistering sands. I 16 hatched and suffered some serious losses to a hellion runby in my main. So I started producing drones like mad to repair the damage. I kept having a very low econ and larvae kept stacking up. I didn't know why. My force was small, and I could see the T going way beyond me in terms of macro off of 2 base, even though he expanded way later. I kept pumping drones like mad off my main hatch. I started to wonder if he was somehow killing them off without me knowing. I didn't get it. About 1 minute before he 1a'ed my natural I noticed the second rallypoint of my hatchery. It was pointing towards one of my geysers. I selected the one drone seemingly idle at the geyser, selecting a control group of stacked drones. I banged my head against my desk and tried to use my own overly saturated main. But it was no use. I advised my opponent not to watch the replay and gged.

i think i noticed that one..i def noticed the extractors being 25 one
I heard that planetary fortress rush was awesome, so I impulsively decided I'd try it some game. So I dutifully built my CC under my enemies base(Desert Oasis), and when it completed I saw it required an engineering bay.. fuck. A minor problem like that wasn't gonna stop me from rushing PF tho, so I built my engineering bay, and when it finished I was in shock that I still couldn't build my PF.. it needed gas too. So yeah.. at this point I'm pretty boned, but I figure it's the only way to win if I march along with my plan. So I build my refinery, mine the gas required, and morph my CC to a plantary fortress.
One game in a ZvP on metalopolis, I had a large amount of hydra's parked in front of my enemy's main. After sniping a warp prism, I thought it was time for me to move in.
I lost 3-5 hydras getting in, he cannoned pretty hardcore, but I managed to take out almost everything in his base, excluding a few cannons on the side, a forge, his nexus and what ever. Thinking about Day9's daily about not winning until the game ends, I go to my base and continue to macro more hydra's, which later turn out to be roaches.
He had a carrier that managed to kill my hydra den, my drones and my lair, no big deal, this game was over, in my favor, he had no units left except a carrier vs my 20 or so hydra's,
Back to my macro, I go to my base and start pumping units, when I hit back 4 key to go back to my army, I find another air unit of some sort had been luring my hydras into a massive cannon concave on the side of his base. I lost all my hydras."Not to worry!" i thought, I had about 10 more hydras on the way, right? Wrong, like I said, 10 roaches pop out, No drones, or minerals left. no lair. versus a carrier.
And this was also my LAST game on bnet before I ragequit that night and called phase one done.
When the beta first came out and I was learning all the hotkeys, I didn't know them for banelings, and I was experimenting with burrow-bombing. Of course, instead of unburrowing, I accidently blew up around 30 banelings in thin air.
I assumed refineries were 100 (instead of 75) minerals from patch 1 till about patch 13, I always wondered how in replays the pros got their refinery that much earlier than me :/
Some mistakes that makes you feel like a noob: Pressing 'S' to build a SCV while having all mining SCVs selected causing them to stop mining. Accidently double clicking on SCV before giving it a command to move (e.g. to gas) causing all of them to stop mining and move. Forgetting to put 3 SCVs on gas and wondering why you can't build stuff faster. Setting CC rally point next to minerals (not on them) and wondering why the hell you have so few minerals.
Reading through these posts, I've done pretty much all of these things at least once.
The biggest blunder I can remember was in a game against a friend, shortly before phase 1 went down. I was protoss against his terran (the only race he's ever played) on Blistering Sands. I did a push with an observer, some stalkers, zealots and a couple of immortals. I'm doing really good at this point and have him backed against a wall. I have his back door rocks destroyed and I am in really good shape. I have expanded, he hasn't. I push a couple more times, and know that I'm going to win the game easily, because I am out resourcing him by a lot at this point. However, my push fails, and he starts heading towards my base with his army that just took out mine. To my shock, I have a crapload of minerals and gas, because I wasn't making anything while I was attacking.
This is one thing I still do a lot, because my APM sucks so bad, that I tend to focus more on my attacking army then my base. Sighs. One day I'll learn, hopefully.
One game I was playing as T vs Z... I had walled off the front of my base successfully, expecting a bunch of early zerglings. After I complete the walloff, i lower my supply depot to let my SCV out to scout. My SCV walks out slowly, and just as I'm about the hit the hotkey to raise my Depot back up, 8 speedlings come flying into my base.
8 speedlings vs 2 marines = GG for me.
I watched the replay, and he just had extremely lucky timing, his lings were running from across the map and got there just as I lowered my depot. doh....
In 2v2s, I was playing as Terran, and I saw a probe come into my base. It set down a pylon, so I had me 2-3 marines kill the probe and the pylon. Right after I did that I realized that was my partners probe and pylon... oops

And if it's like that, so be it. Thats normal isn't it? People learn new words and use them. :D It shows how dedicated people are towards tl.net and sc-scene in general. Which I find is good.
I lost a 1v1 on Desert Oasis against a Terran player in the worst way possible. I beat this guy to pieces, was completely toying with him as Protoss (back when I still played Random). I had every tech building except Stargate and was just totally messing with the guy. I forced him to lift his only CC to the island. Thinking I had all day to just dick around, I continued to screw around and built like... a bunch of Archons and whatnot. I was certainly surprised when a fleet of BC's showed up and slaughtered by production builds.
sometimes when reseting my probe rally point, i accidentally rally them to another probe instead of the mineral line... takes me forever to realize i have a massive game of follow-the-leader going on in one of my bases since the following probes dont' show up as idle.

FFA (wait, has anyone even given an FFA "blunder?") as me with Terran.
After I just finished a FFA where I lost because an enemy Terran started the gaming with walling off his natural with racks, bay and bunker (give him complete access to early expand) I tried to do something similar.
I wall off and then realize that everyone is pretty much stuck in their bases so I decide to play a bit risky. In Metalopolis I take both the gold and the 10.5 o'clock expansion soon enough I have this huge rush of early income. Well, as I tried to spend it (this was when I was starting playing so I wasn't good enough to use my income) I said my minerals go past 3000 so I was like, oh crap. Well since I see all my opponents building spine crawlers, photon cannons, bunkers and plannetary fortresses, I dont' want to have my bases undefended so heck, why not.
I built about 20 Command Centers which all turned into Plannetary Fortress. Totally awesome plan. I wrapped them around my gold expo and made a wall from the gold to the 10.5 expansion, aimed specifically to stop the 1 o' clock Protoss. (And for a while it detered him from engaging since fighting 3 PF mid game is not something you want to do in FFA).
At this point I still had too much money and no space to build more CC's (Well, i coudl float them downwards but that wouldn't really do much.
How about 6 Starports making Bcruisers? AWESOME. Being the only person with a gold and 2 expos ahead of everyone else who's in their naturals, I decided to become the top dog attacking everyone at once. Well...didn't work. The top right player had photon cannons lining his entire base. The bottom right was just the same. The Bottom left (under me) was a Zerg with an inconceivable number of mutas.
I stopped going for the protoss players as they had too many cannons (top right would eventually kill bottom right) and tried to eliminate the Zerg.
Well, everything I had died as Bcruisers happen to be good against mass ground and solo air (air to air in equal numbers).
Apparently what ended up happening was top right Protoss ended up with mass carriers and killed the mutas really easily and then all my Plannetary Fortresses (which don't have axles on their guns, forcing them to shoot straight, rather then tilting up 10 degrees).
Playing 2v2 on twilight fortress I went mass ghosts and mass nukes (5)... We both got up to 200 supply for all 4 of us and they attacked first... Well... I dropped all 5 nukes... on our army... which was at our front door... huge misclick... destroyed our entire army and our entire front door... without hitting the other players... at all...
I once meant to build a spore crawler, but because S and A are right next to each other, I wound up building 2 extra spawning pools.
I also accidentally rallied some workers to a vespene geyser and found out about 3 minutes later that there was this line of 15 drones waiting to mine gas (I still won the game because I found out that my opponent only ever made 30 SCVs compared to my 70 drones).
There was also my overlord spawning spree and wound up with 150 supply worth of overlords when my actual supply was about 70.
I've made something like 20 infestors when I could have sworn I only made about 4.
I have also made Ultralisks. Ahahahahahahaha, get it?
I'm pretty sure the things that have kept me out of platinum are all my really really stupid mistakes.

Uhh like this
9th drone is built
builds overlord
builds drone
forgets he built overlord
builds another overlord
realizes he already built another overlord
cancels.
Happens to me everynow and then... It's such a facepalm-moment... *shrug*
Well my friend beat my other friend but he lifted his cc onto the island of LT and came back and won since for some reason he didn't make any anti air units....
one time I got so fucking mad at losing to yet another better player (most likely asian, definitely fat) that I punched my computer and threw it out the window! lol oops!
Probably the worst I've done was on desert oasis when I was in the north as zerg. There were 4 hellions running into my nat frying drones, and I had about 12-15 hydras chilling below my ramp. So I a moved them behind the nat and went to deal with base stuff. When I came back my hatchery was dead. So apparently instead of a moving them behind the hatchery, I accidentally clicked the hatchery itself and it went down pretty fast.
First game of Starcraft 2 ever. I go to options to change mouse settings at start of the game. I click ok once I'm done, and I think I'm out of the menu. I press S for make scv, and apparantly, the S key is actually for surrender. 10 seconds into my first game of SC2, I lost.
S key on hatch means select larva, S key with workers selected means stop mining and sit there like a rock.
It is important not to mix these up, or else you will notice a horrendous drop in minerals per minute.
Haha! Explanation of how this happens to me--
I spam boxes over mining drones, and use hotkeys to select to my hatchery when I have 50 minerals. Then I proceed to hit "s" then "d" to make a drone.
Very often I misclick my hatchery and I press "s" to make a unit from my larvae, but instead stop all my drones from mining. Then I do the 3-3 split all over again.
When I first got my beta key about halfway through (during the Gamestop offer), I signed up for the Novice league because I hadn't played an RTS since ROC came out. Well I went to scout with an SCV when I couldn't find my way out of my base (Kulas Ravine). Having watched a few VODs, I knew where the entrance was roughly supposed to be, but my little SCV couldn't find his way out. I tried clicking all over the minimap but he kept running into the edges of the base.
Then I realized there were destructible rocks at the entrance.
I always forget to make queens entirely because I'm so used to SC1 macro. In fact, the first few games I was plopping down extra hatcheries just like SC1 and not building queens at all lol.

I do that a lot while I'm overpooling, because right after I build an overlord I start saving up again, and if I get distracted for any reason before I get to 100 minerals, I can easily forget what I'm saving for and just assume it was an overlord and make one of those instead. I'm curious as to what it's best to do in this situation, take the larva loss, or early 2nd overlord?

This a lot...turns our a planetary fortress in the back of your main is not all that useful...
The worst thing though had to be when I was playing a 2v2 with my friend and went for a quick banshee on twilight fortress. We got hit by the typical zergling zealot rush and I went to check on my banshee which I felt would save us, only to find it not even building.
Turns out banshees are 3 supply and not 2 like i thought. To this day whenever I or that friend make a stupid mistake playing together we shout "3 supply" haha.
Oh also, did not hear the nuclear warning message in a hectic 4v4 game. Ooops.
They really should fix that, so Nydus worms / Nukes take priority over "Your allies are under attack" or other lesser priority messages [if they haven't already]
I assumed for the longest amount of time that Cyber Core still required 200 minerals. I was always puzzled to find out why I had so much spare minerals even after plopping down the Core.
i am sad to say that i did not find out the cyber core didn't cost 200 minerals until after the beta went down. hehe
I always find myself researching tunnelling claws for roaches. One game, just in the nick of time to defend against a terran mech army (mostly tanks, which is why i got it in the first place) to realise that I hadn't researched burrow yet.
i beat off a guy's all-in rush, he gg-ed...didn't leave. me being stupid, stopped playing and waited for him to leave. he comes back with a ton of zealots and i lose. bad manner on his part, but also dumb as hell on mine.
I too suffer from accidentally stopping my mining workers when hitting "S" for SCV or larva.
Another one I seem to do far too often is using warp prisms. I go to pylon mode and start warping in some units and then fly away before they're done, which cancels them.
I was 10 gate forge FE on scrap and had most of my attention focused on enemy base for micro, macroing just with hotkeys. After about 2 minutes I was wondering why my income seemed so low -- I was pretty sure I should be expanding soon (only did the build 1-2 times), but I barely could keep up with zealot production.
Turns out I had rallied my nexus to one of my mining probes, so I had about 10 probes on follow, which meant that idle probe icon I kept checking for had never shown up because they were all following the mining probe.

LOL me too! and i thought extractors were 50 and assimilator/refinery were 100 mins each. I used to press P for probe and pylon, O for overlords and M for marines and mutas.
On my first week of beta i heard of planetary fortress rush so I decided to try it without watching any videos or read up on build orders. I built the fortress in my base thinking I could lift it into my opponent's base.
Someone should start a sc2 blooper replay thread. Anyways my biggest blooper was when I was slightly tipsy. I microed my mutas into his main and picked off all his marines. Instead of picking off his SCVs I saw 2 missile turrets and decided that I needed to take out those turrets.

"NO," I thought, "it must only cost 100 gas!!!" -_-
Now I can barely stand to make ghosts because every time I'm reminded of those weeks I spent thinking it cost 100 gas.
Biggest blunder? I must've spent at least the first two weeks of beta thinking that the cybernetics core costs 200 minerals...and getting away with it :D

OMG yes, and assimilator / refinery was 100. Oh man...
Walling in on the southern base of blisstering sands depo depo starport with tech lab. unfortunately the positioning of the lab meant my factory units could not get out of my base and if I had any production facility attached to the lab then they couldnt get around it to go over the depos either. Ended up having to kill my own lab.

Well my biggest blunder would be just throwing my MM army into a bunch of zealots on a ramp, basically throwing the game when I had the advantage (early game mis-micro hurts). (Nothing too extreme... yet)
i had a lot of zerglings and my opponent attacked my third base so i clicked all my lings and press A in the minimap. i killed all my opponents units and my hatchery
Ohh wow. 2 of them here. One time in a show match, i did an early baneling rush in ZvZ, and had a baneling ina group of 5 HP drones.. now instead of hitting X to blow it up instantly (as they were about to get off the creep) i hit S, and made him stop. i QQed in game as i ended up losing after that..
Also another (less notable) match was a practice match against one of my team-mates, where i had my roaches burrow moving under the P's HT section of the army, and i THOUGH i had my roaches selected, so i hit R to unburrow (little did i know i had my hydras/infestors from behind the bush selected) So then i continue on to quickly select my roaches and unburrow, then i re select my hydra/infestor army (NOT KNOWING they were burrowed) to move in... and nothing. People spectating were all laughing =P it ended up costing me the game when i could have EASILY won.

I believe that was the last match I played as protoss.
my favourites, trying to do a proxy rax rush as a terran, send SCV's to minerals, then send one to opponent's base (1v1 match) get SCV into position, why do i only have 30/36 minerals? turns out i sent my 5 other starting SCV's to a spot BEHIND minerals...
GG'ing to canon rushes when he has nothing in his base, and i could have sent my 3-4 marines over there, plus 6-7 SCV's and won (after losing to this 4 times, have learnt!)
good old planetary fortress not lifting is always good...
Having a game 100% in the bag PvP on desert oasis. Main and natural of my opponent was destroyed. I had a 200/200 ground army from warp gates and robos. While I searched for hidden expansions, it never occured to me that he could be on one of the island expos. He takes a warp prism and 4 probes, rebuilds in about 5 minutes because he was stockpiling resources. By the time I figured out what he was doing, I got a few void rays out, but he completely kills me with an army of 20+ void rays and a mothership.
I proxy 2 gated beneath the opponents natural mineral line on blistering sands and hilariously poor pylon placements accidentally trapped 3 zealots, costing me the game lol
My funniest blunder was in a ZvT, im playing zerg, its going quite well I macro and defend for a while, and get hydras up. Suddenly 5 hellions roll into my base going for the mineral line, I see this and a move my hydras to the mineral line or so I thought, because of the "3d effect" i clicked on my hive, the hive goes down, and im like, wth how did those hellions get it down so fast. I proceed to kill of the hellions and move to his base, when he ggs out. So I check the replay and notice my mistake. And think to myself, hmm maybe my opponent saw that, and thought I was totaly crazy and just said, this guys nuts im out of here, he even kills his own Hives, hes gotta be psycho =)
Well, i guess everyone has those moments when they panic or simply give up I remember that it used to happend to me alot that when the enemies had annihilated all of your units exept your woorkers, i would attempt a rambo thing and kill them with my measly 12 woorkers instead of trying to sneak one out and restart ..
It happened me once where i accidently flew my command center over an un-touched enemie base.. We had shared until control , and i dont know why he did it, but he set my CC to get to the far "island-base" in the Enemies side on 4v4.
I guess I was not the only one who didn't check the overlords twice in the beginning. Needless to say I raged when, no matter how many overlords I brought, I could still not see that damn banshee blasting away at my workers.
I was macroing up hydra/roach reinforcements to my natural while attacking his expansion. I loose my attacking army and he comes over to counter-attack my natural. I'm all:" Aha, that's not going to work, I didn't forget my macro while attacking and by now I have a bigger force than you!". Few seconds later he levels my natural and I'm left wondering where my units are at. Seems my evo chambers, hydra den and roach warren had made a nice wall-in...
And I was thinking I was all baller for doing a tight SIM city...

OMG yes, and assimilator / refinery was 100. Oh man...
Same, same. That mistake prompted me to actually read all the unit/building stats thoroughly.
The worst I encountered was during one my countless placement matches. Incineration zone, PvZ. Knowing that most matches at that level would involve rushes/cheese of some sort, I prepared for an 8 pool or backdoor bust - by accidentally completely walling off my ramp.
The best part: I had forgot to set my rally point, so the Zealot I built spawned on the wrong side of the Gateway+Pylon. From there on, it was a matter of watching 4 lone zerglings eating away at my gateway and pylon without me being able to attack at all.
Once Z saw that, it was a matter of spawning buttloads of zerglings. It was a very short match.

It wasn't a que command. Yikes.
It would have been better if you queued the pylon in his base by mistake.... lol
Personally, I have never made a mistake, ever in any game.
I was fighting some voidrays with a huge number hydras, i was in a good spot and i shift clicked all his voidrays for the micro. I went for some macro in my base while the hydras were shift targetting his pack. When i came back to the battle i realised that one of my orders didn't aim a voidray and all my army went to simple move in the middle of his units... I went from an easy win to a painfull loss
One time, I had totally won a game with a maxed out Zerg army, 4 bases to his almost mined out main, with a 2/2 upgraded R/H army razing his infrastructure. I typed "gg?", he typed gg, then somehow I hit the keys to leave the game.
I was so neverous after working my way to plat all the way from silver (pre-diamond) that in my first game I built 2 cyber cores and got rolled by some early pressure. It was pretty embarassing when my opponent was like "o_O 2 cyber cores?" Especially when I had just been talking to him about how I just got into plat.
The worst thing that ever happened to someone else playing against me, though, was PvP. I had made a few bad pushes and lost a good chunk of my army (stalkers/immo) to my opponent's stalker/immo army. He then counter attacked whiel I was grabbing my expo (desert oasis, which has a very open nat) and when I thought he was going to take it out and kill me, he just ran his army right past mine which softened it up enough for me to kill and eventually take the game.
@mangoTango, someone did this to me once. Was trying to figure out why my rank was better after game. He msgd me to say that he did that by reflex. So I got a free win :D
Stupid thing I did was when i was playing on desert oasis and someone had a bunch of roaches, I had a obs hovering over their army in the middle, thought it was set to follow. They burrowed and I didn't notice, they sniped my nexus and I was able to hold on for a while but all down hill from there

I felt like this after the match --> =/
Ugh. Mine was even worse.
I was playing Z for once (I never play Z) on Incineration Zone. I had taken every expansion other than the one behind the rocks in the SW. It was like 6 Base to 2. I had pushed a few times but never really had enough of an army to go past his cannons.
Problem? I never scouted. Once. Always always scout. It's never fun to run into a 200/200 Mass Carriers + Mothership army with Roach/Hydra + Infestors.
Ironically I still almost won the game. I had gotten a NP off on his mothership, however my Infestor died before I could use Vortex on his army. A few more seconds and I might have won.
It was the only time i have ever /ragequit in my 8 years of playing SC, WC, anything. I was so pissed for losing to mass cannons into mass carriers. Nub SC1 Strats. Buh.
Proxied David Kim with two gate and forced him to lift and everything. Basically won the game. Until I forgot to send a Zealot home and he killed my Nexus with all his SCVs.
:[
Also used to think Cyber Core was still 200minerals and Robotics Facility was still 200 gas! But this was like week 1-2 of beta.

done this a lot, not in the beginning of the game because I have good controll over the economy then, just when you have like 2 hatch 40-50 food and u make on to many overlords, can really cost you the game..and it has..like delayed potential upgrade/lair ...I wish there was a button kinda like the "idle worker" button so you can see how many ovies you make :d

its what you get for being a douche imo
I thought i had one game won, i had my nice stalker colossus sentry zealot army, however i had all me 20-30~ zealots off to the side for some uber flankage action, except i forgot about them until it was like 3 secs into the battle and as a result they didnt get there in time and my entire army was raped
I was playing a 2v2 as zerg on a map with backdoor destructible rocks. I made a bunch of zerglings and banelings, busted through the backdoor, and destroyed most of the opponent's probes and also his nexus. All this time, I had been making drones. I told my partner, "Make units. They are going to counter." About 30 seconds passed, and all I did was make drones. No spines. No units. They came in and destroyed my partner's army and my base.
I don't know why, but I just felt like I needed more drones.
2v2 Metropolis. Trying to save my ally when the enemies ganged on him. They were up his ramp and was engaging me mid ramp.
My thought: I should FF half his army up-ramp and half army below so I can eat them separately for victory! My action: blocked them entirely above ramp. They proceeded to obliterating my ally's base while my army sat there.
Me: "I'm the best..." Opponent: "yah, you really are. Thanks!"
not a blunder so much as a funny story... ZvP on Oasis, managed to do a rather nasty base race, but I only crippled his main, killing off all his probes, I retreated to the SE and NW islands via nydus, and established bases previously which had been mining for a while, a long battle of attrition ensued, and it ended up with me, in the SE (only) with 1000M/1000G/180S. He had about 30 stalkers that were patroling my borders quite irritatingly, I couldn't move out, and I was all but out of resources. But I had an assumption that since he didn't seem to be aggressive he was out of resources and still expanding. I built up 2 brood lords (had like 450 minerals left, something like that) and started sniping the stalkers very VERY carefully. eventually i was able to push to his main after downing his stalkers, and there, I see a pair of probes, pathetically long distance mining from the most distant gold patch... I rofled as I killed his probes and he rage quit out. 2:20 game, but more "WTF" than any I've ever played... much name calling on his part.
pushing vs a zerg army of hydras + roaches + lings with my army of marauders + marines + 3tanks, i waited for shells and shields to complete. while waiting i a-clicked my marauders on the map and managed to kill 2 of my 3 tanks. i lost the battle due to this mistake, since i saw 2 tanks in siege mode (had it researched) would have helped alot, and the game was pre-nerf i was so angry that i ...... let's say had to buy a new mouse
this is kind of relevant kind of not as obviously it is with bw units. However we already have like 3 clips for sc2 and me and my friend didn't get the beta tell gamestop gave them out. It will be called Retarded Units of Starcraft 2 1. Anyway here it is....

i did the same exact thing while playing TvP...ladder match too. such fail.
2 things: 1. Sometimes as terran building my barracks requires me to pull the scv out and swap (enemy's scout deciding to attack). I knew that it was possible and I had done it before while in game, but I never knew for sure how to do it. One game after one of the resets I was playing terran again and building my barracks, I decided to try to figure out how it was possible to remove the scv because I figured it would be a chill game. I accidentally selected the barracks and hit cancel (at like 70%).
2. Yea in the beginning of beta I didn't know how to tell whether players left the game. On Steppes I beat this terran badly but I forgot whether it said he left the game. I... ALMOST left since I said a few things and the guy never responded after he said GG. But since I was new to SC2 at the time I decided to flesh out my tech tree and take the map to explore. Luckily testing out medivac speed around the map proved to be very helpful as I spotted his floating CC with it. He was pretty pissed at that point because he tried to hide and pretend like he left and ended up wasting a good 20 minutes watching a dark screen while I built up.
one game of TvZ i played on desert oasis where i opened with banshee and killed a bunch of drones. then i lifted my rax at the wallin for reasons i dont remember and 50 lings ran in and evened the game out. then zerg was able to make drones faster than i can make scv so he won
