This is because the fact that the number of pixels allowed within those settings are minimal compared to higher settings allowing for the cloaked units to be more distinguished because there are less pixels to persay create shading for those units and etc.

Im pretty sure you can see them when they stand still. I remember being able to see them on people's streams. They of course play at the high settings though. I can't seem to see cloaked banshees and observers. Those are my main concerns.

So i have everthing on low, except texture on ultra, which makes it a lot easier to see cloaked units for me On June 01 2010 06:44 Klockan3 wrote: I see cloaked units on the lowest settings... 2. Open up variables.txt 3. Find this line; simplifiedCloaking If it is on 1, change it to 0.

Nope didn't work. texture on ultra didn't work either. I can see the attacks and where its coming from for banshees but for other units I don't even get a hint.

Im pretty sure you can't even see a hint of it. And izzy I can't really do that when I don't even have an idea of where it is. Besides it takes too long.

(unless of course you own that cloaked unit, then it's visible to you, but transparent-blue) I agree that people either need new monitors, or glasses ![]()

Testing now, will post pictures to confirm. Edit: Too lazy to post pictures, but this is what I found. 1. Cloaked units always produce the distortion effect as I stated 2. Cloaked units are easier to see when the background it's distoring has a texture 3. Low shader effect creates bland, textureless backgrounds 4. Because of points 2 and 3, it's more difficult to see cloaked units on low shader settings I noticed that turning the shader setting from low to medium had a huge impact on the terrain which makes cloaked units much easier to see even when standing still. That said, I doubt you'd find it unless you were actively looking for it or it was parked over something highly textured (like the edge of a ramp, a building, or a unit).
