I was wondering if blizzard is going to replace this dipshit with the old system... or at least add the gamename password thing?
I dont really know if this was discussed here in detail, however I'd like you all to vote to forward the statistics to blizzard. thx
Poll: Is the invite system to custom games sufficient? No, we need gamename + password back. (or a combination of both) (70) 71% Yes, its even better! No need for the old stuff (15) 15% I don't care. Both would be so much better.

SC1 system is hundreds of times better.

How would the gamename/password system be an improvement?
|
players are free to join whether they want to or not players can join any time they want host doesnt have to add all the participating players host doesnt have to invite anyone one after another, which is really annoying(obvious)
|
but you have to tell all the people game name and password. yay.
the new system is way better -_-
btw. if you are friends with the people, they can rightclick you name an directly join ur game.
|
I'd like the try the current system with chat channels first. I always found it annoying to have to keep kicking people. Meet in a channel, then make and invite could be good.

You also can't just join whatever game you want. If you want a 2v2 on LT, you're forced into a particular game. It's retarded. How are custom games going to work out? What if you don't want to play those people (leaving and rejoining puts you back at the same game).
With the popularity system, you also can't see what's wanting to be played. For example, one time I went online 1v1 on LT was at 0 popularity, so no one joined it because they knew they wouldn't be able to find a game. With the SC1 system, it would have filled in a second I'm sure.

with all the glitches when sending invites( i know its still the beta) but i think the old system would be nice to have back ^_^

I don't really watch tv so in my spare time I always used to just join Obs Starcraft 1 games. I am extremely dissapointed I can't do that in SC2. Now as an alternative to the gamename system, they could just easily put in an "obs game" feature, I would be fine with that too.
Also a gamename system allows people to host custom games and call them "pros only" or "noobs only" and play games with players their own level in the custom games rather than random ppl

I think this system is fine with chat channels and the ability to join the game of anyone on your friend's list. Because then I can easily add everyone from the chat channel and join their game.
As is, it's fucking retarded.
"Can you invite dupeydoo?" "What's his identifier?" Friends list -> duperdoo -> right click -> view profile -> memorize identifier -> return to game "dupeydoo.dumbsystem" invite -> type in -> invite
It's like 10x more complicated than it should be.

You can invite directly from your friend list, Chill. No need to memorize or type in the identifier in your example.

I actually wonder if there is litterally a single person who actually thinks any of BNET2 features are actually good? I mean why would Blizzard actually implement such a horrible interface system for the sequel to their legendary Battle.net? Are they just trying to troll their users or are their marketing people really that retarded?
I bet their marketing/requirements people are not specific to games and they are educated with Web2.0 facebook and all that stuff, since thats really hot on the internet right now. However, that sort of stuff functions very bad for games.

I like the invite system, but it could be improved. I'd like a way to "request invite" so you can obs a game.

Just fyi: If someone who you are friends with via e-mail accounts is in a game lobby you can just right click on their name in friends list and choose join to join the game. Not sure if everyone knows that or not, but I just found out yesterday.

I think Blizzard just needs to get rid of the identifier system. I understand why they put it in, but I find that it's more trouble than it's worth. Being able to invite directly from your friends list is a great feature though, although I'm rather worried that they get rid of the whole game name system, since knowing the game name is great for knowing which type of map you're going to play in.
|
I dont think you got the point. As a tournament host you usually do not want to add everyone at your friendlist.
|
the current system with the "give me his id and identifier" plus the fact that there is no chat channel for tournaments is really really hurting.

I agree with this completely - it's so annoying when someone messages you and you have to ask them for their identifier if you want to add them or invite them or whatever -_- At the very least the identifier should never be invisible, but I'd rather just remove it completely - it's like in the Asian ladder where there's like 5 different SoO's in the top 100.
