Obviously at this time Blizzard isn't interested in letting individual players get an idea of their skill outside of the league breakdown and from what I have seen this program is used by enough people high on the ladder that were it possible we could start getting a good idea of peoples actual skill rating. Isn't Sc2ranks.com what you're looking for?

I've tested it, Sc2gears can open 1.3 PTR replays, but since some unit codes changed, select actions will show you incorrect information. But you can analyze 1.3 replays too.

No, Sc2ranks simply compiles point listings into 1 database, Im asking about a system that keeps track of who beats who via the autosaved replays and creating a ranking system based on skill and results instead of the gameable point system (or just innaccurate for newer accounts) that most people have agreed doesn't really give an idea of how good someone is. Think about how the NCAA figures out who goes to March Madness. After the auto entries you have all these other teams, a lot of which have identical or very similar win/loss records, however probably never played eachother. By compiling the data of record, strength of opponent, in common opponent results, you can begin to deduct a ranking system for all parties. Would it in theory be possible for SC2gears to take an auto saved replay, figure out what two players were involved and who won ( I know this info is available in the replay). Transmit that data to a central server which is able to compile the data and inputs it into system for determining a ranking system for players based on actual results of skill instead of an obscure point system that has a silly bonus pool add-on. For example, currently BratOK has the 2nd most points in the world thus "appears" to be the 2nd best player in the world via Blizzards system, which I know most people would agree is not true. This system would be base on head to head results and would be actually able to determine a skill for players.

Yes, it would be a lot of work, and it would be quite inaccurate. Not to mention that not everyone would agree to send all of their replays to the server. Also there would be a problem with the sent replays: MMR changes over time. If someone sends a replay later (not when it was played), MMR would have to be recalculated in history (it affects people of the replay, people who played with/vs those people, and so on, it would extend to the whole database).

Thanks in advance Did you extract it? When you download it, you download a zip file. You have to extract it. Once you extracted it, on MAC OS-X you have to make the launcher script runnable. To do that, open a console/terminal, and navigate to the folder where you extracted it to. For example: cd /user/someone/Desktop/Sc2gears And make the launcher script runnalbe: chmod +x Sc2gears-os-x.command Maybe your problem was you used the wrong file name? It's Sc2gears-os-x.command and not Sc2gears-os-x.sh.

Sc2gears requires Java 6.0 or newer. That error means you have an older version of Java. Install the newest version.

If you think of adding a "Ladder season" granularity to the charts of the Multi-rep analysis, then yes.

So there will be a line in the multi-rep analysis seperating ladder seasons? I.E.: All the data I have from 7.27.2010 will still show, but a line (a very obvious line) will be put in that indicates a seperation from Ladder Season 1 and Ladder Season 2? If so, neat! Will you eventually add functions to analyze data gained from different ladder seasons in a summary report? Again, I love your stuff. ♥ Crackensan

Again, I love your stuff. ♥ Crackensan My first idea is this: on the Development charts you can choose day, week, month, year. I want to add "Ladder season". That way you could see how was your APM, activity, win ratio, race distribution etc. in ladder season 1, in ladder season 2 etc...
