I think they must be fixing the larva thing, since it was obviously meant to not do what it does now apparently where you can queue units and the larva keeps building up so you can get 12 lings or something straight away.

There must be a bug in the code for it or something.

It doesn't look like a bug at all. Blizzard most likely decided that zergs should be allowed to start and cancel units for free just like terran and protoss. Probably influenced by whining newbies.

Now zerg really should not be able to do that both from a racial identity and balance point of view. It also makes it less important to plan ahead.

While all those effects are just bad so far, they are not terribly bad yet. But those Blizzard guys obviously didn't think this through. It was obvious that this larva collection thing will be a result, and if they want to keep the free canceling it definitely should stay or else it would be horrible game design.

The only proper solution: Revert to the old egg canceling mechanic. There was nothing wrong with it.

I can't imagine a 6 pool coming at your base with 12 lings being even close to fair.

Why should it be a bug? A hatch produces larvae unless there are 3 or more larvae "attached" to the hatchery. If you morph them into eggs there obviously are less larvae and the hatch happily starts producing new ones. It is perfectly fine within the game mechanics, it was intended to be like that (though indirectly and probably unknowingly), hence it is not a bug.
It is stupid in various aspects, but not a bug.
If you have a good reason to disagree with the above, please tell me. Thank you.

Again people screamed "ZERG IS OP NERF THEM" not really even having any specifics, so blizzard did, and nerfed the queen's movement speed to the point that if Zerg FE'd AND build 2 queens to defend against the MAYBE POSSIBLE AIR RUSH they couldn't guard their natural with 300 mins worth of units that die REALLY FUCKING FAST to 100 mins worth of units.

Yeah this game is over for the zerg, Every work around a zerg comes up with is nerfed into oblivion, so fuck it, it's over for the zerg player. GG Toss and Terran, but ESP the Terran, you won. Zerg is out of the running. Never mind that it took A FUCKING DECADE FOR ONE ZERG PLAYER TO DOMINATE BW. Never mind that he has to play a PERFECT GAME AGAINST TERRAN. Jaedong was the messiah for the zerg, now our era is over. He was too good, and blizzard had to nerf the entire goddamn race to prevent him from winning ever again.


GG I'm done with SC2, it's over I refuse to play terran and thus this game is no fun for me.

Edit : can't wait to see the new bnet features. May sound childish to pros but I think it's really extra motivation and entertainement for the casual player. This kind of stuff makes a game really popular without impeding competitive play ----> I like it

As a zerg player I see this change as a huge buff, but, truly we can live without it as we lived for 10 years in SC1.

the larva thing is not a bug. its just that blizzard thought it would be fair if they could cancel like the others but what they dont think of is what it actually did
before z had to kinda have units and "plan ahead" as spine said but now u can just sit with a happy face and make drones all the time and only IF terran attacks THEN u break it all and make units to stop the attack. they r just making zergs even more brainless race by doing this, and not to mention how damn imba it really is

I've been rushing with lings but I suck and I'm losing most the games when they hold off my rush and they're ahead in econ. I went back to playing normally and I'm doing better again. I have a hard time winning in games where I have to sacrifice a healthy econ early on.

Zerg is already imba in zvp because of its air superiority over protoss. A real good zerg knows how to abuse it well enough to gain economical advantage and run over. Look at all those pro zvp replays where all protoss players lose if they can't win in early game or early mid game with some push or something. Hasuobs tried ownage stalker blink micro and it still didn't work. Muta mobility and its power in mid game is super effective cuz zerg can choose which battle to fight and forces p to defend in base and natural while zerg double expanding. And there is not a hard counter in sc2 like which archons did in sc1 against mutas. I am not even talking about the broodlords and their broodlings fucking up AI. The Phoenix that which designed to counter mutas with plus light damage is complete useless against a good zerg player. And at the end this patch brings no help to this kind of situation. I am very disappointed.

sentries are made of win .. and cute... seriously they don't need a nerf .. the only thing they counter well is mutas ... and well nothing else coutners muta well

I'd have an opinion if only I could get into the game, my patcher just says Your computer appears to be behind a firewall, and when it slowly finishes downloading (takes hours) it came up with an error. So I removed SC2 and reinstalled, getting the exact same firewall bs. Hope it works this time, I doubt it.

I agree with you, but I don't think the muta should be nerfed to handle this problem. Yes, it IS a problem once I as a zerg get 15-20 mutas (as long as I kept building lings) I can roll over most armies that a toss can produce.

I don't like this larva deal, and everyone was already bitching about queen being OP, about Zerg being able to macro up really fast, about pretty much anything the zerg could do in BW, is apparently now OP, even though now zerg really only has 7 units to pick from, the rest are all useless, in a pretty bad way.
Zerg macro is not OP its Zerg Macro.
