A. Figure out a way to boost your Master Audio being sent to LiveStream. In comparison to other streams, you were VERY quiet. Not just you, the entire stream. Some may try to convince you that it's better to be lower because then it can be turned up on the users side. It SHOULD actually be the opposite. As long as you aren't coming over hot or distorted the user can still make their own adjustments as needed. This is a very small change that can go a long way - and I realize it's show #1 but if you get some of these things out of the way early, you'll be in better shape.
B. I like your show concept, I would add a suggestion. It might be interesting to actually have the person of the REP you're covering be on skype with you. That way as you're explaining it the person can ask questions. If I was watching one of my replays with you, I would probably be able to think of 1000 questions to ask you. What you're doing is great, but it's also pretty one dimensional. You are doing this show because of your skill and knowledge... that means you also approach the game a bit differently. You must consider that a player who is not at your level would probably ask questions that you would never even think of... mostly due to LACK of knowledge by the player. I believe if you had this type of interaction, you would not only find it easier to generate content but you'd also be doing the community an educational service. At least think about it.
C. If you ever need any help, let me know. ^_^
D. Where to get a Mt. Everest Bottle? :D
I really think this is an awsome idea and it would certanly give a twist to the show if it would work out well. good luck with the show^^

I saw the first show last night too. This might be a bit nitpicky, but you spent a lot of time going over points you had gone over repeatedly before.
The cannon issue, for instance, was brought up and discussed at length when the forge was made, when the first muta harrass came, and pretty much once every fight thereafter. Would have been better to simply mention it once, then point out the beneficial effects down the line, but keep it short.
If you could cut out a lot of the repetitive material, you'd probably be able to go through more games and discuss mechanical tips, which I think underlie a lot of the problems for many players.
That said, I rarely bother listening to streams unless they're djWheat's, and I listened to yours the entire way through, so you're clearly doing plenty right.
Best of luck in the future, you're doing a great thing.

The only problem I would see with this format is you could potentially get extremely irritating scrubs saying a bunch of nonsense on the show while wishing the entire time they would just STFU... much to the same effect Summa has on your shows.

I just hope he take's all the advice everyone has given him into consideration.
@Skroove - you do know skype has a feature where you can just type right? & the Summa comment was disrespectful.

Enjoyed your Show very much, thank you for it!!! And I love that idea of djWHEAT to have the person that asked you for help on skype to actually ask questions, or at least to write them to you on IRC or battle.net. Looking forward for part 2

Fair enough. I'm not suggesting that he just goes, "Ok Player [X] let's get on Skype and watch the replay" - or picking a total random without hearing what he/she has to say before hand. I mean making a show is somewhat of a process, so it wouldn't be perfect each time.
IF I WAS PRODUCING THIS SHOW - I would leave my Skype VoiceMail up - And I would say, "OK if you'd like me to select you for "review" please leave me a MSG on my Skype VM which details the following: Name, Race, League Rank, Biggest Weakness, Biggest Strength, Problems you have."
So I would call in and go, "Hi, I"m djWHEAT, I Play Protoss in Gold League (usually about 10-20 rank). My biggest weakness is late game macro, and my biggest strength is probably not getting panicked during games. I really need some help with mid-game Muta harass and how I can also open opportunities to harass"
Orb would then go, "OK, this guy can speak intelligently" and becomes a candidate.
Again, if I was orb I would try to create a "army" of 10 or so people, that I would bring on the show and keep bringing them on to create consistency, chemistry, and relation. Orb would identify these people as being folks who bring good replays, ask appropriate questions, and make the show two-dimensional. Additionally, with time, the audience begins to "relate" to who you are bringing on.
Orb I hope this makes sense, and like I said, I'm totally down to help in anyway possible. In fact, I'd be happy to be a guinea pig and bring you some replays and let me be the "guy who asks questions based on your review".
PS THANKS NonY FOR YOUR COMMENTS ^_^

What he said..
It's usually not that difficult to differentiate between someone with a brain and someone who comes from the dregs of the internet. Orb would just need to have some sort of screening process via a "why you should pick my replay" question.

REPLAY: [url blocked]
It's a Lower (i say lower because i make tons of little mistakes :p) level platinum game where i was destroyed by Speedlings and Muta
The reason i posted this is because about 60% of the time Zerg does this exact strat vs me and it gets me most of the time..

Pretty cool... I still wanna 1v1 you!!! xD
I want revenge for that 2v2 we had xP
But you start at 9PM EST? That makes it 6PM PST I'm still on my way home from work @ that time... T.T
Oh and Day[9].tv starts at 10PM PST (1AM EST)on mondays, 7PM (10PM EST) on tuesdays and 9PM (Midnight EST) on wednesdays... his schedule is weird like that cuz of his classes... Maybe you can start yours @ 10PM EST every day other than sun/tue/thu??? xD
Anyway, I'll definitely post some replays for lulz... (Some of them are pretty epic) xD

If you need a way to spice up the ending you could do something entertaining like a segment called 'Orb's Minute of Rage' where you rant or rage about anything you want (SC, current events, people, anything, really). This gives the viewers another reason to stay for the whole duration and lets them hear you 'rage' about non-Starcraft related subjects in small doses.

Why isn't -orb- a featured stream?
|
^ He got in trouble for raging too hard. He also keeps beating Chill on the ladder.

Some advice:
Hang a sheet or something behind you so it doesn't feel like I'm watching some nerd broadcast from his bedroom. I realize this is exactly what you are doing, but it looks horrible. At least with Day[9], you can't see his bed/dirty laundry in the room.
If you want people to take your show seriously, you should be a bit more mannered on your stream. Your 'rage' may incite interest in the show, but who really wants to take advice from some 90 pound basement dweller who flips his shit whenever he loses?
Also, your words aren't 'mathematical' proof of anything, so don't sell it like they are. You are trying to help people in a Beta, not an established/released game, so don't act like what you are preaching is set in stone and is the be-all, end-all.
Can't say I don't enjoy your show/stream, though.

D. Where to get a Mt. Everest Bottle? :D
Wow thanks for watching my show! Heh, every time I think of you I think of n0thing the cs player's video (n0thing but headshots) as it has your commentary from some live match at the start :D
A: For the audio: My mic is an sm57 and I don't know how I can get it to be louder other than it just being right at my mouth (which my type of mic stand doesn't really support) or basically getting a new mic t_t. This is definitely something I need to look into, I just don't know what to do at the moment because I don't want to spend tons of money on new equipment (I don't have that kind of money lol I don't have a job I'm a college student)
B: This is an interesting idea, although I can see it adding a lot of technical problems to the cast. I was definitely planning on having a Q&A after the show with the people in livestream chat, but maybe if I got the person's contact info to talk to them on AIM or something during the show that would be helpful. It might be hard though when I sometimes get the replay really soon before the show I like the idea though, it makes sense
C: Aw thanks yo!
D: Hehe, I believe you can buy them at REI (if you don't know of it it's a chain store, stands for recreational equipment inc.). My brother works there so I'm pretty sure that's where he bought it from for me ^_^

Hey orb, how do you decide which replays you're going to choose? If you go down the list from the beginning then people just joining the thread will have no chance of getting their replays reviewed.
Anyway love the show keep it up
