So I just got the latest issue of PC Gamer (UK) and it has this quote in it in their big feature about Starcraft 2:

"By the time you read this, Blizzard will have added a feature suggested loudly by the beta crew - the ability to refocus the camera on a specific spot of the map you're interested in, and call it up with a keystroke. You don't get this kind of player/developer interaction from many other game makers."

Obviously, they're not here quite yet, but it looks like its gonna be here soon. This quote comes after a very lengthy interview with Chris Sigaty.

Haven't seen this posted anywhere else but I think it's interesting.

Honestly, it is sooo hard without the F keys, Hope it doesn't go past 3 because that's about as much as I can handle.

There was another thread very recently showing that the specialized Starcraft 2 keyboard has the F-Keys printed on F2, F3, and F4.

I really hope they bring them back :S. I use them to "hotkey" my expansions past my main and natural.

That is so awesome that someone reported the keyboard as news.

I am very much hoping F keys get added back to the game! Odd that they aren't there as it is.

I guess we can expect this with the next patch.

I'm soooo happy these are coming back in, I used them all the time in brood war and I know they'll be mega useful for things such as warp in locations and nexuses.

I think using F keys would be waaaay easier than MBS for macroing...
Maybe I'm just too used to them..

I'd like not only this, but for Alt+Hotkey to center in on that group instead of having to double-tap a hotkey to center it. Just feels faster than double-tapping

As a temporary solution, I have remapped my F2-F4 keys using a free keyboard remapping program called Key Tweak.

I remapped F2 to "8", F3 to "9", and F4 to "0". This way i can hotkey 3 hatcheries (or other structures) on 8,9, and 0 and double tap F2, F3, or F4 to place my camera there.

Hopefully they implement the real thing soon!

they shouldn't have removed F2 F3 F4 in the first place, it's not like this game will have heroes like WC3.

Well the campaign will have heroes. And based off of some screenshots taken through a pre-release of the galaxy editor it seems as though the heroes in the campaign (and editor) will have a WC3-esque feel to them with stats and skills and so forth. I think the F keys were originally going to be used for that.

Glad they're bring the real use of F keys back to multiplayer though.

You know that the SP is quite different from MP?
SP has firebats, medics, etc. so SP has units which aren't even available in MP, pretty possible to have hero units, as all units give XP when killed/damaged, but there is just no unit in MP which recieves XP
