Note: This isn't directed at any party in particular. If it wasn't a general issue, we would just ban a few people and go eat cheetos
This is a subject which has always been a bit of an issue, but was largely ignored because it happened relatively infrequently - staff from other sites using TL as a marketing tool for their own content. It's a bit of a grey area, because one could argue that it is contributing to the community as a whole, and that everyone should experience the content. There are some limits though.
If i have a party and invite all my friends, and there's a guy who gets along with everyone, shares some drinks and jokes and then says "hey we should do X tomorrow" that is great - everyone loves that - i love that. I'll put that stuff on the front page. If the same guy bursts into your party and screams "HEY GUYS, AMAZZZZING PARTY AT MY PLACE YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT!!!" every time he shows up, then i would probably punch that guy straight in the face. It's distasteful, and disrespectful.
Here's an example. JP from MLG is a new member to Teamliquid, and has been using the forums to let people know about the KOTH series and i assume in the future other tournaments. However, i regularly see him interacting on the forum and even in IRC. He polls community members for who should be in next weeks series and genuinely shows an interest in the community. This is good. If someone is "known" and we have the gut feeling that he's doing a good thing, then we will support it. If we feel that there's someone with 50 posts, and 30 of those posts are OPs to advertise/link his own content on another site, then we get our panties in a twist. Should we leave it open? Should we ban the guy? The answer isn't important. What is important is that we think its an issue and it feels like our system is being abused. TL hates abuse.
Be cool. Post. If you are new, tread lightly. Contribute to OUR community before you expect us to support yours. Don't make us think that you are using our site as a marketing tool and we wont have any problems.
Good ways to make us think you are a giant tool bag - Make your user name your product/website name. - Include a big ol' obnoxious link in your quote. - Make a blog with a link to your offsite blog.
I sense Spartan's 9th ban coming soon. Though I only blatantly posted a VG link once in the past few months (as far as I remember) - my beta key contests thread.
Just a general question, because I see it popping up so often in the SC2 forum; is 'advertising' ones own you tube channel, be it for recorded replays or commentaries fair game?

I'm sure a lot of us without a beta key appreciated that threat. I did for sure.

Probably not since you apparently, which I would assume so, fit the "regular" member category. Hell, you've been here since 2002. O_O

If you are a contributing member of TL then no problems. For example, if EG guys want to put a brief quote and then link to their EG blog, we are fine with that. Our problem is when we see who we've never heard of with 50 posts and 30 of them are synopsis + link threads. Artosis is a lazy prick and makes threads that say "yo click this link". We don't really care though because he's obviously earned that. We aren't hammering down on people linking etc, we just want it to be classy. You do a lot of streaming, people love it - if you link your blog too then we don't care.

This is really just standard forum procedure (or at least, it should be), but it's amazing how much it gets overlooked. I've done it myself once or twice in the past and learned my lesson.
The ironic thing is - it's always the best communities; the ones you really want to 'market your stuff' to, that are the strictest about this. This shouldn't come as any surprise though, as that is one of the very fundamental reasons why they are the best in the first place - they promote/encourage/demand high quality forum posts and loyal members.
I'm glad (as always) to see this being mentioned and moderated, as it really does lead to a better and more focused community.

I don't do anything really that would require promotion... but if I ever do I'll keep this in mind. It does get annoying though... I've noticed it in a few places especially blogs and "what i do with my life" type threads.
I think this area definitely needed some clarification, if not just for all the new guys coming here with something to offer who might get too hasty and ruin their chances with an ill thought out post.
BTW - I also think you have to consider that some sub-communities that exist in TL and don't have a place of their own may tend to conduct some business here, what are thoughts on this?
For an example; the USA state- or location-related competitions and tournaments using TL as a means to reach the large fanbase of players in that subgroup here. But also less constructive or obscure communities.

But seriously, great job Kennigit(sorry if misspelled)! This really helped me understand the exact standers of this rule. TL staff= BEST STAFF IN THE WORLD! Well... at least better than my school's staff and my brother's fellow staff members(not including him).
Potentially guilty of a little bit of this. Most of my chatting and hanging out is in IRC and not as much here on the forums.
To be fair, we give credit where it's due on the show, particularly since we have been upped to featured stream status, and I certainly consider us part of this community at this point. Have definitely been lurking in the IRC channel longer than I've been posting about OMFG on this forum.
TL.net is the backbone of the Starcraft world and its hard to imagine any Starcraft production not having some connection back to this community.
This is a great post, and I'm glad to see some regulation.

Looks like it so far, the casts i've seen on youtube are pretty sweet so far. Improving with every game (it's a crying shame about the lack of HD but hey, ggs).
I guess they're just gauging interest at the moment with the KOTBH cup, I'm loving how it changes every week with each patch :p
Went back and watched their halo coverage and it actually made me actually get some respect for halo, that's pretty tough for someone like me that despises console shooters.
I've never had this problem before - well, even now it's not really a problem, but I feel bad when I do it - where I have to fake an orgasm with my girlfriend. Why? Because I'm tired of doing all the work and my girlfriend has already gotten off. I mean it's not like I do this regularly, but only when we go for like 3-4 rounds at a time. Obviously I'm going to be shootingblanks by then and it gets painful.. sometimes really painful. Just today we were on our 3rd go at it and after like 20 minutes into it she was done and I was still going. I was just gettingmore and more tired and I couldn't feel it ending soon for me so I thought to myself "fuckit, I got off twice already and she'shadherfill so let's just cuddle" and hopped out.
So anyhow.. is it wrong that I fake it? Is it deceitful to my girlfriend? Should I feel ashamed that I have to fake it? Have any of you resorted to this before?
I support this motion, nice work. I've had my fill.
It's almost disheartening kind of what (a small segment) TL has become, which I realize is inevitable since in many ways it's also beneficial for TL. The way I am bombarded in every Starcraft 2 thread I read with subtle plugs, promotions, and worst of all, this sort of false "I care about the community" vibe I get from a lot of people trying to work their way up or become known.

Haha I kind of agree a little bit with this. I remember there was a commentator bashing thread and it was full of people dropping their youtube links. I guess there's nothing wrong with that, it just rubs me completely the wrong way.
Hope I'm not violating the TL policy by creating a thread about the Practice Partner finder Web app I created. I figured it would be viewed as a benefit to the TL community vs some kind of bad self promotion, but if I'm wrong, please let me know and I'll stop posting updates to the thread.
i think we are missing part of the point here. if we are interested in esports and or great starcraft 2 games we are also interested in high quality streams and tourneys with huge pricepools. if casters who obviously work for the community by streaming their casts ask for donations to improve the quality of their streams and to host tourneys it should be good for the community too i guess. we are not talking about pay-per-view here neither do i want to read pure "gimme money plzplz" threads. still, if theres a specific event which is streamed by a specific caster, he should be allowed to announce the possibility to donate... shouldnt he? on air he will obviously ask viewers to subscribe youtube channels and his website and bliptv account and to read about donation options etc. anyway. if someone is not interested in the specific event he doesnt have to read the thread about it.
or what do i not get? arent we happy that day9s face is now even more bright and shiny?
As one of the people still playing Starcraft I, I have a lingering concern about the sequel of the legendary game. For us the old guards, the old gamers who were around when Slayers_Boxer, the terran emperor, was dominant, we cant help but think that maybe just as Boxer's ,Nal_ra's or Nada's reign ended, so would ours over the new Bnet. Would our fingers still be able to adapt to the new mechanics of Starcraft II? Would we still be able to keep up with the ever changing strategies? Or would it be better for us to save face, retire and let a new generation of gamers take our place.
After reading this I understand the direction and point of view here. just want to post apology I didn't mean to violate any rules. I kind of thought this was contributing because I am spreading the word all together to new ppl that might be interested in SC. I don't know how I could contribute on a forum with so much knowledge when I am no pro SC player I will play it casually try to improve myself for sure and learn but there are so many ppl with knowledge of the game more superior to what I could ever contribute its hard to find a place if your new. Still I apologize and will follow forum guidelines on out.

Totaly agree. And now many of them start with ads! If someone have a usefull site why not posting it here? in future you can sell maps over bnet. we dont know who will sell it and who makes it free. so ban all mapmaker?
and i dont like the "OUR COMMUNITY and YOUR COMMUNITY" in op. im part of A SC community and this site is part of it
I think it's pretty clear. Blatant, straight up advertising isn't allowed, while proven community members are allowed to plug things. I highly doubt anyone would mind if Raelcun or Day[9] or someone asked for donations for a tournament prizepot or something, but Johhny "registeredtenminutesagotopostalinktohissitethatyouhavetopaytouse" McRandom...different story completely.
i think its not so clear in practice. just saying your postcount and your registerdate counts is hard. i start on tl with a post over a custom map where i make a new version of qxc buildorder tester. i didnt link a website there only direct download but other mapper link there own website.
so mod have to check the site and the post and decide.
noone likes add spam at a forum but see the post of Arcalious 4 above this. he makes a good tool that help the community and is woried that his work could understand as ads for himself. So i think we dont want ad-spammer but people who really make good things should not be worryed to post there stuff...
So i dont think there could be a rule. people who want to spam there site ignore the rule and people who make good stuff and read the rules are not sure and could be end up dont post it here.
I think mods have to read and check all the post and the link to decide every time.
It's pretty easy to tell the difference between posts written up for advertising specifically and posts which someone took some time to put together to present something to the community well. See the difference between Arcalious's post and hannibalxx's post. People who are legitimately posting something don't have to worry, that's the point. The rule is aimed at people who register an account just to advertise, while (clearly) Arcalious registered, and while he may be promoting himself, that's clearly not his only reason for being here.
i understand but you dont need a rule to ban such idots or? its a clear ban. And btw i dont read many of such post here. like chill said:
I remember there was a commentator bashing thread and it was full of people dropping their youtube links.
i remember this too and was only laughing. commentator who try to get subs in a thread where they bashing commentators..... on the other hand if a commentator gets subscribes by posting here will stay with this site and perhaps get a part of the community over the time. people can visit more than 1 site or channel so they dont take people away of tl...
Could teamliquid set up a page or kinda database of the SC2 commentators out there? Like where you can find them, if they have a youtube channel or other (ustream etc). This would be really helpful to all the new players out there who are starting playing SC2.
I feel it would be better for the community if it would be easier to find out about the different SC2 commentators out there like when they started, how often they post vids, what type of stuff do they post and their type of commentary (analysis, entertainment, bronze/silver, coaching etc). Basically a chance for the commentators ONLY to give a bit of info about themselves and their commentary.
There are quite a few out there at the moment, I personally have had search alot and spend time looking for them out there on all the different places.
day9tv and iccup-tv on ustream are the two I know off the top of my head. Most cast tournaments will have a post about them in the SC2 Tournaments board (and ICCup TV has posts with schedules as well). There's a list of streams in the top right corner just under the calendar. Most of the good streams (not all) have a stream page here and will have a listing there when they are live.

I have used most of them before, but I mean something just for the commentators to write a bit about themselves briefly and teamliquid to verify that yes these people are legit commentators and you can find them here here and here. Kinda like a commentator portal (is that the right word?) that is policed by teamliquid
Blogs? Each stream page has a description where the stream owner (or whoever has access to the particular page) can write whatever they want. Each stream also has a comments page.
this is such a post from a new user called Khaldor! she mostly post self ads for her speed drawing site. its sc2 related but looks like shie wants to 1 promote herself. on the other hand she write a post in a patchnote that she cant run replays.
Total ads ? ban ? or a good thing for the community? i would say: Gray. thats what i mean. its not so easy....
Not really. Only 3 of her posts are about speed drawing, and they are in the appropriate forum, and they are warranted. She posted something she thought people would be interested in, and later said "by the way, it's all moved here now". The posts are completely different from this.

I shoud've made myself a bit clearer tofucake. There is a subtle but important difference between what I envisage and the current state of the livestream channel.
The "stream list page" with all the channels on is only catering for those with livestreams. I can't find where it has links to their youtube channel or other media where u can watch their vids. Also I find the page kinda hard to navigate. A lot of the channels are people who are just streaming themselves playing with no commentary. The thing is there are soo many atm there is no easy way to distinguish who does what without watching the stream itself for a bit. Why not make it more user friendly?
There are lots of people showing themselves playing, or streaming vids of games etc. I specifically are looking for just the commentators. Is there an easy way to search for them? Like say I want to look for commentators who help players improve by commentating on games. The commentators would have the tag "commentator" and "improvement" and I could very easily search for them and their page. On their page they may have a link to their youtube channel or others so I could access further vids or a link to several other stream accounts where I could see them play/commentate live if I so desired with descriptions about each one. Maybe the commentators can give a bit more info about themselves and their aim for SC2 as it seems very limited what they can say atm. There would be comments as it is atm.
Sorry if this was overlong. I just had this idea and it would improve the teamliquid experience sooo much more
EDIT: added the background quotes to show relevance.

1) i think this is offtopic. 2) i agree. there were a guy who make a thread with many casters and links but i didnt find it. but i think a categoriy where only caster post there links and a little text would be nice.
Builds and strategies with evidence should be put into Liquipedia 2. Forums are nice for new things, but if you've got a few VODs of someone good using a build successfully, feel free to add it to LP2.
I apologise I've made a thread, even got a warning, I'm trying to become a good caster but I suck atm
Just casted my second reddit EU tournament and it was tough work, and half my posts are just links asking for feedback on what I'm doing wrong and right, I get a lot of negative feedback but I want to be a caster, that is what I want dammit.
Anyway sorry, I do definitely need to get more into the community, this site is fantastic and SC2 is amazing. I also need to play more 1v1 and get into diamond but that's another matter.
Anyway sorry if that's all I'm doing, I'm really into SC2 in a big way and that's not going to stop any time soon.

Maybe the title needs changed but the reason we are getting these links in here is it seems that people think it is a place for "Links/Advertising/Self Promoters" and so post accordingly.

As for this criticism, it is a platform, so most likely he is parsing the corresponding replay data syncing it up to the stream. The information is really cool and if automated could be very useful.
As for my opinions on it, the sound didn't work(was it suppose to) maybe I missed something (running it in firefox 3.6.8). Also I use Opera so it would be nice if you could eventually support it as well, usually it only needs small changes for it to be accommodated.

ok sorry for that. and whats with point 2? you advertise your website on tl in a thread thats say dont advertise your website on tl.... you dont think this is a little bit hard?
This is hilarious. I was so confused why people kept advertising in a thread where OP lays down what qualifies as abuse of TL forums.
But think about it like this. You have something to advertise, link, to or promote, and you see a thread called "Links/Advertising/Self Promoters." Ding Ding Ding! Why bother reading the OP? Copy Paste Post ???? PROFIT!!!
Just wanted to let you guys know, that the... 3rd(?) New England tournament is being held this Saturday at noon EST and is listed in the upcoming events section. The brackets are full (pending some subs) so stop by this weekend and check it out in person (FREE... and there is a bar!) or watch on the livestream and support your TL mates.

In all honesty After the OP I saw so many posts that were adverts for legit people and weren't nuke, that I thought the thread had evolved into a central "post if your not a total noob advertising" thread. Wouldn't it be easier to close the thread so nobody else adds onto this? Or is it a nice little "laugh at this guy" thread now?
I read this thread thinking it would contain links to content people are advertising, so yea i was misled here as well...the title suggests this is the only place advertising is allowed, but obviously the OP explains this is not acceptable (except in certain circumstances) kinda confusing
Hello guys- My friend Bake and I are looking for (free) work as casters. We don't have a lot of experience casting but have been quite successful in ladder and are extremely avid students of the game. We listen to all of the well-known high level podcasts and watch the highest level streams and so are comfortable in our knowledge of this new game we are all still exploring. We look forward to any requests for our services to cast tournaments, koths, anything whatsoever. Don't be shy!

Best way to start getting TL viewers for a stream is to go through
This adds your stream to the list you see on the right hand side of your screen under the calendar. Safely gets your name out there without risking warnings/bans

I'm new here so trying to get involved at a safe level without seeming like the new guy trying to be FlavaFlav. Kennigit has a point and that should be that you are not simply using one community to promote yours. It's bad business practice and shows you adsolute lack or sense of loyalty. It's not your fault, we live in a mercenary-mindset society in which Gen Y'rs are trained to not give a shit and only advance their own opinions, agendas and self-worth. Think of it this way: if your employer is good enough to give you a place and sense of community, a good break or a promotion do you spit in their face and preach the position of their rival or someone else? Food for thought.

I think the people who know when they're crossing the gray line of what's appropriate on the forums, and those who are truly trying to make the SC community awesome know who they are.
Just a few simple questions, If i make a thread about my Clan/Team and link the website is that acceptable? Also about Weekly Tournaments, Is it ok to link my website or should i just link where to register?
so does this include recruiting? i looked and didn't see anything specific so thought this look promising and upon reading, i am torn on if recruiting for my clan sc2 section would be using this as a "marketing tool." may sound like a dumb question, but I'm just trying to avoid stepping on toes.

Theres a forum for Tournaments, link all information about them there. Your Clan/Team is probably sponsoring that so theres your link for your Clan/Team info too.
Advertising should not be an issue, unless it promotes other sc2 community in the same manner as teamliquid.net. If this is not the case, then it will not compete with teamliquid.net and should not be punished.
In OP post, that "party"-analogue is not correct as long as advertisor is not promoting their own "teamliquid.net".

There should really be nothing in this thread to be discussed. We are the guests here at teamliquid. They set the rules, not us. Be glad your allowed to have a user and post. No-one is forced to be here, and anyone can leave at any point they wish. TL doesn't owe us anything, and imo TL could of been MUCH more strict in regards to the whole "advertising" on their website. Sadly, the generosity and will to help grow the community has just been abused which I think is what the OP is trying to put focus at and stop. As simple as that ^^
I realise this is my first post, so this might seem a dodgy question. I've been a longtime lurker on TL, but never really felt like posting. It can be kinda intimidating. However, I've been experimenting with casting on youtube recently, and wondered where I might stand with making a thread to advertise it.
I fully understand, having read the "10 commandments", that as a member with, after this, a post count of uno this might not be particularly welcome.

Hi guys, I'm not sure if that's the right thread (I've only found one where clans write about their recruitment, not players that they search one ;p) basically here is my acc http://www.sc2ranks.com/eu/298335/LDLCcomJB/ and here is my skype: coldfear44 feel free to write to me if you want to have me in your lineup or/and aske me any question : ) greetings Paul
Ok I am in need of ways of getting in contact with high level grand master players who are looking to be on a competitive team with a friendly atmosphere based on growth and learning. REQ recently has been picked up by a multigaming team so anyone not happy with their current sponsorship situation, or if you are teamless please message me as soon as possible. some notables I am searching for are :
Karlsteiner Baz skinky eizcaj frisky.
I am looking to build a team that will be top five within north america and sadly since everyone is on a team and I do not approve of poaching other peoples players, I am hoping teamliquid can help me build an extremely solid roster. You can pm me here of msg me on battle.net req.fograw.309 A major announcement will be made within the weekend for all the non believers.
Hello! I was interested in starting an thread about the Olive Garden, their cuisine, and restaurants. I do not work for Olive Garden, but I do enjoy their food. I'm worried that my thread might be treated as an "advertisement," so I'm just looking for a go-ahead before I post the OP.

Post in blogs, and if there is content you'll be fine.

FYI - Just because players do not have tags does not mean they are not on a team. Frisky is on Team 1nsanity already. So as the manager of Team 1nsanity I'd be nice if you didn't poach as you said in your post.

I thought you were just a retarded troll until I realised you were actually promoting something real. You sir, are a retard.
LOL, I actually do not get why his Youtube link has not been removed! Not like he is a threat or anything as he has a lot of his videos with no views at all, but still, his link should not be there...
Funny guy indeed though! Probably a previously banned user as he only had that one post.
I've got some insights into how to promote stuff on the Internet and it never ceases to amaze me how people fail to understand that the two major factors are time and contribution. E.g. I actually strongly support forums which demand like 50-100 posts before you can post anything in your signature...
I'm looking to do a show match tonight with a Master vs Grandmaster testing a map in the late stages of development. I don't want to step on anyone's toes: if I have not earned the right to post the stream here, that's fine. I just didn't know where this fit (Hey, check this stream out for an hour tonight versus "come to my website and leave this place").
I'm not trying to create a community, or promote my stream. I am trying to make some cool games, and test the map I've been working on, and give it some exposure. I decided to err on the side of caution and ask those who might know: is it appropriate to announce the show match on TL at this time? And if so, where is the best place to post it?
I have just read through all 8 pages of this thread, chuckling at the people who either interpreted the thread title as "Put your Advertising here!" and didn't bother reading the OP to understand what this thread was actually saying, or decided to troll and place in their blog/link.
But on topic, I had a legitimate serious question. As Tofucake said earlier, vods and builds should be placed on Liquipedia. Let's say hypothetically, someone goes on a search for vod references of a build they just created an article for and they soon realize there are no casted vods of the build on Youtube and he or she decides to create one and then place the appropriate link under references of Liquipedia.
But as he or she go back to lurking the threads, he or she discovers a specific thread discussing the build and people are asking how to execute the build correctly, if the person in question links to their youtube video that they created, as opposed to the Liquipedia article which contains the VOD in order to gain several more views but contribute as well, would that constitute a ban?
Something else besides advertising that I think deserves attention from the online gaming community in general is the amount of hate talk that goes on. The amount of times people call someone fag, homo, nigger, etc because someone won who cheesed is unacceptable in my mind. You see this on the forums as well. These people are using these terms in explicitly demeaning ways meant to insult another player through language that in any other forum would be unacceptable. The excuse "I didn't mean it that way" is simply not true in this situation since they chose those words to explicitly mean negative things to the player they sling them at.
As a community it is up to us to help push this sort of discourse out of the gaming world since as more and more people join we should work to make it as inclusive as possible. Whether this be banning them, refusing to play with them, telling them to stop, warning them, etc is another subject. But the bottom line is that we all need to start figuring out what to do and working to stop it instead of allowing it to go unquestioned and ignored.
I put a youtube link in my quote...but I provide free analysis/tutorials etc which I think will be of overall benefit to TL users. Is this kind of advertisement acceptable?
I'm fairly new to the TL forums, although not new to esports, and I really like this up-front, no-fluff, honest attitude. There are too many other forums that lack this type of governance (if that's an appropriate thing to call it).
Anyways, I'll keep it in mind if I ever have anything to link/promote.
Why hasn't the Well Played tourney been put in the stream link, and why was it's thread closed down? They weren't even given a chance to interact with the community, and they were told that they were advertising. Why?
Over the past few weeks, I have had a growing annoyance, with a certain 'featured user stream' on TL. It fits in with the subject of advertisement/ self-promotion, which makes me happy that this article is open.
The subject of self-advertisement, asking for donations/viewer support from E-Athletes is as new to me as SC2. I do find it respectable, lawful, and similar to the act of busking, which cannot be confused with panhandling.
Though I am annoyed by one user stream in particular*, whom has a habit of asking for generous contributions, and providing his paypal information more frequently then there are commercial breaks. To clarify, he asks for money A LOT! He is worse then the twenty minutes of advertisement you get when you are at the theatre. I find the stream has become a joke, and I am now longer interested in watching this user,(I will click un-follow after this is posted).
This users actions are unique, as I do not find other players acting in this manner. Can an admin respond, and inform me to whether this users actions are acceptable or not on TL? And if they are not acceptable, could you please give this player a warning for verbal advertisements, and allow him text space where he can ask for donations. His gameplay is very entertaining, though I am annoyed and losing interest as a fan, as his antics are becoming more compareable with panning, then they would ever seem to balance out with what an E-athlete does.
PM an admin if you think it is that bad but usually we only regulate what people do on the forums and in the descriptions of their streams. What they do while they stream is generally not held against them except in certain circumstances.

*allowing anonymity to user with stream
I don't see a problem with them asking, clearly if you are still watching the stream the player must be of strong skill so you can donate if you like. It's pretty personal whether or not you wish to donate so I don't think it's much of an issue, they did get the stream featured so must be doing something right.
Donations being asked are fine, but if the player decides that they will stop streaming until a certain amount is donated then that is bad news. As long as it stays on their steam and not on the forums for me to have to scroll through to read other posts then that is alright in my books.
I have been trying to get some buddies more into SC2, which they have been open to try. We made a 'deal' of sorts, where I would help them start up their Call of Duty youtube page, and they would try SC2 (we're all buddies IRL).
They've been playing SC2, and loving it! It's now my turn to hold up my end of the bargain, and I've got their youtube page up and running. It'd be great to get some support from the TL community, especially from those interested in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
The page will be dedicated to the [GLRY] clan, and will eventually have videos up from all of the clan members, playing the game the way they do best (they are all exceptionally good players).
I was given an "honorary invitation" into the clan, because I'm the tech guy. I even decided to bootcamp my iMac, download it off of steam, and record my own video while the rest of them are on vacation. (I'm a terrible MW2 player lol).

Perhaps you should read the OP. It is relative to your post.
I'm new to TL.net, so I'm not sure if this has been answered somewhere or something, but say I was promoting a blog or something like that, what about putting it in the quotes bar thing at the bottom of your posts? I probably phrased that wrong but I think I make some semblance of sense?
I am a Polish-English and English-Polish translator (I also translate Latin but unless you're looking for a fancy clan name or motto I don't know what you'd need it for in connection with SC2), as in a professional translator who does it for a living as a normal, registered company. So if you ever need help of this kind, just drop me a line and I'll be glad to help a fellow gamer (for no charge in case this isn't 100% clear yet).
(I wanted to post here before I actualy went through with my plans)
I am planning on making a blog post about my youtube channel, the kind of videos i put out, ask for critizim/stuff but I want to make sure that it is not something I will be warned/banned about. In all honesty, i have not contibuted much to this site (aside from the 2.7k posts of mine), but I feel I am well known enough that I should be ok to go.
This is just asking for conformation from the mods that I am allowed to do this.

I've previously PM'd Nazgul about doing this for myself, and he told me that if you work on menaingful projects or matches then it's perfectly fine to make a blog or a topic in General. You're asking for criticism, so that's community interaction. Can't see a problem with you making a blog.
What about me as a newbie(upper bronze league) want's a coach a sparing partner to bounce idea's and advice, so we both(or just me) becomes a better player??
I came to this site because 1. you guy's are awesome 2. i saw a Day9 vid were he said it was important to find a someone(or a grp) to learn from and play against.

Is this not allowed under any circumstances or is it okay to link to your offsite blog in either your signature or occasionally as a blog post previewing content on your offsite blog as long as you interact positively with the TL community, show some interaction with it and don't spam the crap out of the website with it?
I mean you said it's a big indicator to make you look like a gigantic tool-bag but what if you use TL as more than just a tool for shameless self promotion and are actually an active contributor?

In fact, a legit question I asked weeks ago which I didn't really see previously answered within the thread (on this page) just got outright ignored by shout-outs of "HAY GUISE, LOOK AT MY WEBSITE!!!!"
I feel this thread only has 2 functions at the moment:
Informing players of the status quo whilst leaving a few gray areas i.e. are you allowed to advertise stuff at all on TL even if you're an active contributor? and if so, does it have to be strictly Starcraft related?
A venus flytrap for spamming morons. They land here, spam their crap then get trapped and slowly digested (or in the case of TL, banhammered.)

So, I'm bad at quoting, so I'm just gonna say what I read. I saw one post here (or quote I think) that said Free coaching is okay, but not if you charge. So I have a coaching blog, and I'm wondering if I start charging in a few months, will I have to close my coaching blog?
I've talked to a couple coaches who have free coaching blogs and posts, and it turns out they're charging now, so is this false information that charged coaching ad's are not okay?
Maybe expanding the terms of use would help this issue...the sentence on advertising is short and doesn't answer the questions this thread seems to be answering.
oh this is random but the terms of use says "Any claim relating to TeamLiquid's web site shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York without regard to its conflict of law provisions."
So why then is the time that is included in every post by our names not in EST? Usually it's a day ahead of EST, suggesting it's based in EU.....

Do you see top right? That gives the time in KST which is the standard time for TL. KST of course being Korea Standard Time. We are a community that considers ourselves "foreigners" in our own countries due to Brood War, and the fact that TL runs on KST, unless you change it yourself reflects this.

it depends on how much you contribute to the site, consider posting a few free help videos first or in your advertisement post as a show of good will to the community. post a lot in help threads or whatever.
even then its a bit of a risk, just pm your plans to a mod first and discuss it rather than jumping head first into advertising and getting banned. im sure they would understand that its tough to pay for a sponsored thread if you havent taken any money in yet, but they would probably expect you to shell out if your coaching does pick up a bit.
If you are a bronze to gold player looking for a team. Team Korp wants you! Come on over to channel Korp and give it a try. Look for members KrpWhitescar, KrpAzrael, KrpKuroRaven
I don't mean to cause any commotion but I find it troubling when any artist, like myself, who creates something using his or her ability and share that art on this community only to be censored for linking to their own off-site blog that just happens to have links to a cafe press store or something similar.
If the link was such a problem a mod could just simply remove the link and warn, instead the last two times I've recently posted my t-shirt designs I created they completely closed the thread and put it in the trash bin. Now the first time I could understand I had mentioned "selling" said shirt designs but it isn't like I linked to a cafepress store and encouraged people to buy them. The second time I only uploaded the designs, links to enlarged designs, and links to my off-site blog post. Because my blog, that is my property, had a link on it to the cafepress store the post on TL was shut down again for "self promotion". I don't even mention selling shirts nor encourage it.
*shrug* I don't remember TL ever being this strict. First problem of censorship I've seen from TL.
We've been stricter on the advertising because this community has become huge and there are tons of opportunists out there that would love to use our forums / community for profit.
On November 05 2011 14:43 Shaetan wrote: Does this policy apply to creating/updating a single thread for a weekly community show?
I have the same question. My assumption is, no. I think the spirit of this policy is to keep people from spamming the threads. I think (again, assumption) that one thread that is kept up to date and in which you have discussions about your event would be fine.
I think the key take-away is that if 90% of your posts on TL are about your event then they would view that as taking advantage. If your one show thread is just one of many that you contribute to then I would assume you would be fine.
I was wondering who i could message involving casting.... since I've casted a stupidly huge amount of C&C and casted a few turneys when Kanes waith came out, and was a active member of the communty back when the games were good(but for the sake of moving on to the next C&C game i had to cast C&C4 and it made me cringe having to deal with that sorry excuse for a game) but oh well..... I'm glad I'm a playing Starcraft right now and I'm ...........a RTS fan in general
Also I was playing SC2 since day 1 while i was dealing with that stupid "end of the tiberium searies" so I'm very happy with the game, but i see problems, HOTS has fixed some, but not all. I have a rich history in gaming.......Ever since i was 12 I have been playing PC games....... I've played every tycoon and sid meyer game, every sim city, nearly every C&C and expansion, also nearly every civilization game........ and I played abit of SC1 and BW..... and now currectly I'm in love with SC2 and excited for heart of the swarm
sorry for the wall of text i just wanted to be clear I'm not fool, nor am i am stranger to RTS games and I'm glad sites like team liquid exist :D
Why abuse a system that shows so much respect for the community. I completely agree with this, people need to stop self promoting. Promote for the stream and all the games TL supports. Don't promote for yourself, its disrespectful to TL.
And the venus flytrap strikes again. I'm not sure if it's better to lock this thread to prevent this stuff from happening, or to leave it open to lure these people away from making new threads.
Idk, me personally my casting name and gamer id are the same. So generally I'd be more likely to include my gamer id in my forum id. It's a good marketing tool, as well as a way of being remembered...
Hi, I've read the first post and I completely agree with it. I've created a build order assistant app for Android called SC2 Nerds. I don't think to include ads or making it paid. The thing is that I know that this forum is likely the place where the app will be apreciated. Can you please tell me a good way to make a thread with a link to the Android Market, along with description of the app?
Hey! I've read the first post and I completely agree with it. I've created a mobile version of Starcraft 2 called MacroCraft for Android mobile phones. I agree with my previous speaker naughtyspirit in the argument that this forum is the place where such an app will be apreciated. Maybe you guys grant me the wish of a thread with a link to the Android Market and hence let me share my contribution to the starcraft community on your great forum.
Oh, I get it. People read the title and think it is a thread designated for "links/advertising/self promotion". That's actually funny as hell... so many nukes... Good way to flesh out the people who can't read

Don't take my word for it, because I am no one in this community really, but I would guess it would be fine. A book is something that takes a lot more commitment than a stream or a channel: people can just click on a link without much thought, but you have to actually go find and buy a book. To me that means that promotion of a book is a lot less... overt? than a virtual item. I don't know how successful a thread about a relatively unknown book will go, though.

It's fine imo. Look at people making thread about games, why should it be different with books? As long as you promote something that people (TL users) will most likely be interested in. Though, if you are promoting your book (considering that you;re a no name and your book actually cost money / you gain something from it) then that's self-advertising. EDIT: So i think the big theme around this advertising policy is CONTRIBUTION to the community.
I'm kind of wondering where or if there's an appropriate place to talk about or link to the videos I do. I basically just look at games of people Gold and under and give specific advice. It's not something a huge audience or high players are going to want, but its kind of just a very straight forward thing from the Bronze to Gold range.
I used to get a lot of the replays just by coming to TL strategy forums, people asking for advice instead of doing a write up, I'll just link them a video in that thread, that'd get it and other interested people would be able to see it.
Now that I mostly have people sending them to me, there's kind of no thread to mention them in unless I just start one. Is there a place on TL this type of thing would be welcome to have me mention or post now and then without it being spammy or too self promotional? Would it occasionally be fine in just Sc2 general? I've posted a few that were geared to a wide audience, but I don't know if people have the patience for anything not meant for high leagued people.
What about recruiting for clans? Does that count as advertising? I have a good amount of posts (compared to some) and would like to get my clan known out there, but I'm not sure if that would bring me an instant temp/perm ban. Could someone clear that up for me please?

I would like to create a new thread about my new application "sc2 News" which list news from sites like Team Liquid and redirect on them. The application will be available in a few hours.
I don't know if I can post the thread, as I read the posting guidelines and it's mentionned that adds are not allowed. So I would like to contact the advertising team to discuss about that =)
I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I'm going to ask anyway.
If there were a way to post a link to a new series of videos I am making on my twitch.tv channel, where would the appropriate place to publish it on teamliquid.net to make more people know about it?
I would want to have a thread in which people could post their responses to what is going on in the video, and that should be here. But since I can't upload video blogs on team liquid, would it be okay to make a thread in SC2 General and just post the video link and something in the direction of "tell me what you think about it below?", or should that be a blog?
I have a question as well, I'm gonna be practicing monday to friday on a pretty tight schedule, and I want to advertise my stream, so people can come and give me tips for improving, etc etc, mostly for help, and for people that just like watching sc2, but not necessary at the pro level.
Would this be considered okay, and if it isn't, is there anything I can change to make it okay? Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately no, but feel free to have a link in your signature.
Also, if you meet the streaming guidelines, you could also make your own stream thread. Use the search function to learn more!
Hello TL, I am a small caster trying to gain a few more views, if you would like, please drop by and leave a comment telling me how I can improve. my latest cast is here:
Hey guys, I am starting a YouTube series starting today in which I will cheese to masters level. My youtube channel is no, I would love some support from the TL community!
I live streamed Season 2 and 3 Qualifiers live in 2010 with my laptop. GSL is a blast and providing content sometimes includes people who take hours out of their life for the community as a whole. So thank you Teamliquid, and to anyone in the community has lost sleep for esports know that there are less noble among us. I am learning Hangul at a community college so I can get a job-job in Seoul for esports probably not as a pro player but I am keeping up on staying competitive. Thank you TL for providing amazing access to the worlds best players. Once I get into Heart of the Swarm I might be considering the next plane to Korea so I can get my head back in the game.
Hi guys, I totally see the point of this thread However, in case you'd be a newbie and you want to share your new original starcraft song with other enthusiasts, what thread would you recommend to announce it? There is a chance (hopefully) that people may like it. Note that I am not a bot, nor want to spam the forum with crap. Thanks for any advice!
I recently ran into this problem while posting on this site. Perhaps a tad too much self promotion. It makes sense and lessons were definitely learned.
Don't post at all if you're just going to bash a country and post like you're on 4chan.
"Makes me proud to be an American."

You have been temp banned for 2 weeks by EvilTeletubby.
Reason: I reviewed some of your recent warnings & posts in general; you're an awful poster that treats these boards like garbage. Something more severe than a warning is needed. Keep it up and we'll make sure you don't post here again.
Well i dont think i was being that offensive, it was merely a joke. But i forgot where i was posting.
See, this is a police state where nerds become mods and go on power trips because of the power bestowed upon them. This is why i havent been posting a lot, and why i wont miss this place. Because god forbid you bump a 2000 page thread to talk about something, without reading all 2000 pages to make sure your point hasnt been discussed yet. And god forbid your sense of humor is different from that of the mods, or you say anything critical about a player. Like how Nony has been a total faggot the last few days, or that Incontrol cant play for shit.
So whatever, ban me. Make me a martyr. We all know what's going on in this shitty place.
Hey guys, I'm looking to break into casting some SC2. If anyone has any replay packs they would be interested in having me cast or if there are any other people who would like to start casting some games(probably just low level games to start) then feel free to message me here. My favorite casters are HuskyStarcraft, Kevin Knocke, and of course Tasteless and Artosis. I have only cast a few games with some of my friends, in peepmode mostly, so if anyone out there who happens to be more experienced than me would like to give me some tips that would be great too.
Team eXalted is once again open for recruits. Check us out at www.teamexalted.com for more info, recruit criteria and to apply. We're looking for ZERG players especially, but are always looking for other races that may fit well in our clan
Also, I will be streaming some ladder and other games for about a hour or two starting NOW! www.twitch.tv/kravhen Feel free to add me (find me in channel eXalted) to ask for questions or feedback and I'll get back to you after the stream when there's time!
This is pretty funny. But honestly this thread is too much of a newbie ban bait. Just close the thread and add Kennigit's post to the official rules thread (in case it's not already on there).

To be honest, TL is probably better off without most of the people who have been banned in this thread. They would probably just spam links on some other thread or make a stream topic that gets to like 5 pages of just their posts.
if you read the first sentence of every paragraph, it sounds like a really lame commercial. actually the whole post sounds like a really lame commercial. I didnt like the topic whatsoever and I was curious as to what the staff thinks about it.
Not to be redundant but i saw a post asking about if advertising your youtube chan is not okay and was just wondering what the direct response to this was. I havent been a member crazy long and mostly lurk around on here but attempt to contribute when i feel i have something to offer. anywho just let me know really wouldn't want to cause any issues.
I'm new to posting on forums, but really want to get along with the community well... Posted recently about a project we're carrying out for LA, hope that we can count on your support, I'll definately try to remain active in here
makes perfect sense, a little respect and just good manners goes along way. wait till you all get famous then be a douche bag i think that was the moral right time to get famous. . . . . . . .
Old high master player (WoL) trying to be progamer in the next months! Played sc2 last year. After HotS launched, attacking the Grandmaster again! Also give free coach lesson (private) or a poll for special tactics!
hey guys i will stream (i was master in WoL) a bit tody at about 18:30/ 6.30pm turn in; i have a bet that more than 50 people watch... http://de.twitch.tv/tngrocket
I have a question for the admins here. I'm a committed blogger on TL, regularly writing about my efforts to teach chess to SC2 Grandmaster Pyre. This is the blog:
Having the dynamic board makes explaining the games a lot easier. But bottom line is, I'll stay an active member on this site, the external blog is just necessary for the additional functionality of the board. Other than that, my contributions here will be the same.
Hi guys, I have been playing starcraft since its release in the late 90's, usually i just come onto TL to catch up on some news, read a couple of forum posts and have been browsing through liquipedia. I recently started University as a mature age student studying graphic design and network media productions, as part of one of my assessment pieces i must customise a Blog from tumblr, and create an audience.
Ive chosen to do my Blog on Starcraft, on all aspects basically, but overall i want my blog to reflect my view on the game and its ever growing community.
As the 'create an audience' part of my assessment I wish to put a short teaser of my Blog and a link up on your Forums to help advertise my assessment piece through your Website
However I believe highly in personal integrity and do not wish to offend TeamLiquid.net Members, Staff, Moderators etc. and I will respect any decision that may be made on this matter.
The data of my assessment will be from various sources, such as, Google Analytics to determine Demographics and Various other Visitor Statistics, Tumblr followers, reblogs, notes, and comments.
I was directed here by someone on another forum, however I have a question that pertains to this non-advertisement policy that you seem to have going here.
I have what could be call a desperate plea for help in a matter that is very close to my heart and it involves one link to another website for more information that I was going to post in General until I read the posting rules. I'm not promoting myself, not posting a YouTube link, not asking for money or offering services/products, simply trying to spread awareness of this matter. Is that still deemed a bannable advertisement?

Man, it did not take long for the trolls to come out!
My opinion is that i really hate whenever somebody makes an OP, of like some written thing, or interview, then gives a link, and like 1 quote and says..go to our site to read the rest. I mean, if you're gonna title your thread "INTERVIEW WITH ABCXYZ" then i fully expect there to be an interview there, not a link to another page where its at. BUT, since the ppl that do this are mostly strong contributors to the community i can see how this would be accepted by TL.

Hey all I'm streaming starting in 10 minutes here. High masters zerg play, trying to get GM eventually. I hope you all come to watch and enjoy the stream. I may or may not have a webcam/mic. I think I will. http://www.twitch.tv/nisticism
I know this is an old thread, but I'm hoping that someone can answer me!
For the upcoming Redbull Battlegrounds in NYC, I have an extra ticket that I want to give away to a member of the TL community via a contest. The contest will be to get someone who's never played SC2 to play a game with them, and I will draw a random name from a list of participants.
I did a quick search for "giveaway" threads and most of them were closed for "advertising". Would whatI want to do be within the guidelines? I want to ask before I go ahead and do it. Also, if it IS allowed, would it fall under the "StarCraft 2" forum cateogry or something else specific?

I'd guess a blog is appropriate for this. SC2 forum maybe, but a single ticket may not be enough for its own thread. You may want to wait for a mod to tell you where to post though. :o)
Also, <3 this thread, and all the people trying to advertise here.
Hello people of TeamLiquid I have returned after a long time of inactivity (though none of you know me anyways more than likely)
I run a new YouTube Channel in which I upload videos of various things that I find interesting (or tutorial videos). Simply put, there's no need for you to subscribe, but please check out my channel and provide some input! That would help very much! http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGZH9brIYNlr6PH04fTnig (subbin' ain't bad either ) If you guys want to seem some starcraft/dota, please let me know! I'll do my best to put out some vods from my stream! (www.twitch.tv/arcdawn) A bit of info on SC2/Dota2: I am currently a Platinum player due to a bit of inactivity last last season. At my best I was top Diamond/low masters level with Terran and exclusively played mech in all three matchups. Prior to SC2, I haven't played any RTS game but my friends convinced me to play Brood War during my freshman year of high school. Since then, I put in a lot of time to rise from the depths of bronze to where I am now. I play DotA 2 casually as I haven't spent as much time on DotA as on SC2. However, you are all free to message me and play some games (pm for details) Last note, I would like to get to know the teamliquid community a bit better. If anyone has anything to say feel free to pm me or send me a message on my facebook page www.facebook.com/ArcofDawnEntertainment Thanks for checking me out! ---------ArcD
I've created the Build Order Extension Mod found here:http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=444367. It is a mod designed to help you improve your gameplay and overall understanding/retention of build orders. My goals with this mod is:
(1) help low league players improve their gameplay and,
(2), replace the outdated existing build order maps that are still present in arcade.
I have been constantly updating it and trying to address people's concern and suggestions. So if you would like to improve, try it out!
I have already posted this on SC2 general before I remembered there was a link for these types of things ... So for several reasons that I can get into at a later date.. I have decided to put some of my personal money into the starcraft scene to fund the prize pools of some online show matches if it means we get to see some fan favorites play a bo5 or a bo7 on a popular caster's stream... This upcoming Sunday March 9th at 12 PDT will be the first match and it will be Catz vs Xeno on EGIncontrol's stream.. I myself love Catz and his innovative style so I couldn't be more pumped.. As I said I am in talks with a few casters to continue to fund show matches to make up for less GOM vods (that I miss oh so very much) and downtime between tournaments. I love Starcraft 2 so much and some of these pros don't reap the rewards that their hardwork deserves (Jaedong excluded :D) .. So I hope this first match is a start and we get to watch some great starcraft and get some of these guys some loot for the fantastic entertainment they provide for the community.. Hope you all tune in...
Hello, this isn't a self-promotion link by no means. This is more of a cry for help and an attempt to fight monopoly. Russian-speaking StarCraft II community is currently a hostage to the monopoly of one company that was granted exclusive broadcasting rights by ESL. Hello everyone. Team Esselta inviting master league players to our squad, to get stronger before playoffs RSTL & Sc2Improve new season. We are the best amateur team of RSTL league (2 1st places in 3 seasons - http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Russian_Starcraft_2_Team_League). For now we have only 4 players, so it's realy good chance for you if you want to play on clanwars.
Ok, I tried to ask on IRC with little luck, so I will try here. The thing is that I have developed an App about training Terran build orders directly on the phone or tablet, using kind of a game mechanics emulator. I think is the first app that allow you to do this, and I think it could be a nice contribution for those who have little time to expend on this short of things because their busy life, and they can use their little breaks during the day to train some build and mechanics.
The point is that I don't know if it would be ok to post it on the forums. I don't want to spam, abuse nor offend, so if some admin could tell me it it is ok to post somewhere about it or not (or someone can point me to one) I would appreciate it. The app is already published on google play and can be tested before if necessary.
This is a pretty basic job for someone to provide analysis, previews and editorials about the SC2 scene, and it's fine if you can only cover news such as roster changes and rumours. I'm creating a eSports blog, and am covering 4 eSports. At the moment it's only a volunteer position, but if at a point we gain traction there will be payment. Lastly the site is no full time commitment or anything like that, I'm creating this site to test the waters and hope for success as there aren't too many sites like this just yet. You'll need good English skills, good writing skills, preferably 16+ so that you've had enough experience in English Language Arts. Everything will be given a quick edit, so you needn't worry too much. If you do want to apply, email ggezcontact@gmail.com With your name, and why you're a half decent writer.
I am new to this forum and read this Thread, at least the first post. As i don't know how to ask some mod, i just ask here before i promote myself. Would it be ok, to create a Thread where i present my new stream, if so, where. If not it's ok as well, i really just want to make sure not to break any rules, as i understand that TL is no marketing tool
I've always used teamliquid as a number one source for everything StarCraft. I feel it's a great place for the community to wrap around as a whole. I came to the forums probably over a year ago I'm not sure of the date, to look for a caster for our small clan within StarCraft. It had nothing to do with external sites or blogging or stealing from teamliquid marketing. Was simply from one small time StarCraft community member to another. I was asked by the forum admins to stop spamming and that this site isn't craigslist. So how do the innocent StarCraft players reach out other than the StarCraft forums. This thread is on point with what is wrong with advertising, however it's biased against the little innocent guys as well.
"Chronicle of Nautilus" Action, Sci-Fi, troubles on giant spaceship when evil alien entity appears to stop it from reaching destination by any means necessary. Limit between rigt and wrong had never been so thin

Seems like it should go in the tournaments section, with enough details of course

I've decided to post here about an award in sport industrie. This annual award is for new / start-up companies, who need more exposure to enter the market. The participation was completely free and the winners got a lot of attention and other nice perks. In general, all products are super cool and I can't wait to try some of them out.
I don't work for ISPO, but I work for one of the winners.
Which part of the op made you think you maybe should post links in this thread? Just curious, because I really can't find any part that gives me that idea at all. On the other hand, much of the post seems to say that I shouldn't post any links at all. :p
I like the TeamLiquid forum & I think it's a great system. That being said, I also post on other sites, SomethingAwful Forums & Blizzard Official forums, for example. I (like everyone) work for a living so, that is going to come out in my writing from time to time. That's because what I do is important enough to me that it is a bit of a passion. I bet that position is acceptable to most people & I think it's reasonable enough for most situations.
Hi guys! my friend and me are fans of starcraft2, this is why we decided to start a new funny animation serie about it. it's called "eggcraft animation", we put the trailer on youtube. I hope that it will take your pleasure :D
id like to make a post for my gofundme page to replace my laptop here on TL. i will give free lessons to lower leagues and write an article if i meet my goal. will i be banned if i post it?
well no reply yet so im just gonna post it anyway.
My laptop got stolen from me so if you would be so kind as to help me out, once I get a new laptop I would gladly offer free lessons to everybody who asks as well as practice with everyone who asks. I will also write a comprehensive profile on Jang "MC" Min Chul, similar to the work ive done before on wcreplays.com
I have a nice opportunity for the StarCraft 2 players. I hope it is ok to post it here, although I am not a regular of this forum. ______________
As you might know, video gaming activities can alter brain structures, enhancing cognitive, perceptual and attentional abilities. My lab, in collaboration with PlayIQ.com, is conducting a study on the top gamers in action, MOBA and RTS games and would like to extend the use of our diagnostic tools and analysis to dedicated amateur players in the community.
Why participate?
1. Effective practice of your gaming abilities (key skills for successful game play such as: identifying and retaining critical information under pressure, or making fast and accurate judgments, ignoring distractions and maintaining this focus over long periods of time, etc.)
2. An objective diagnosis of your strengths and weaknesses (players will be provided with real-time performance metrics upon completion of each measure).
3. The chance to make a unique contribution to the advancement of science. Places are limited, so only the first players registering for this, will have the chance to participate.
To get a feeling of how this looks like, you can try a demo here: http://playiq.com/demo1 The full study included 4 tasks, around 15 minutes each.
To participate, create an account at playiq.com and then add the special promo code RX594IMG. Activate the accounts and complete the tasks by 20th of July 9 +1 GMT.
As a matter of fact, if you take a hasty journey down the history of the world of games you would be startled to find a mesmerizing series of reprehensible acts of cheating which has ultimately columnized the dirt free image of the game.
Dunno if I missed some kind of sarcasm or something BronzeKnee but:
1. You're replying to a post from a permabanned account that's nearly a month old. 2. This thread is completely unrelated to cheating. 3. I'm almost certain he's referring to cheating in single player which is totally allowed.
Ok, so if I'm trying to build something (eeg device) for e-sport players can I ask some questions about it? I'm more a scientist than a player and I hoped that I could use community output (opinions) to build something useful.
