I posted this on blizz forums also-
Rather than force the player to hold down ALT to display health bars or change the settings to have them on all the time, I think they should make ALT an on/off switch i.e. pressing turns health bars on or off.
There are a lot of times health bars are useful but sometimes they're just downright disruptive (not to mention they're aesthetically very displeasing).
Holding down alt when you need to micro just makes your job more difficult and I don't really see any point to it. There's no downside to making it an on/off switch.

there is an option like taht already in game, go to options -> game play options -> always show health bars ( i think its like that)

That's not what he means, TArujo. He wants it to be a switch instead of a hold. The option you're referring to he already referred to where it keeps health bars on indefinitely (unless you hold alt?).
I completely agree with this change. Hitting ALT for example would be a lot easier than holding it down while microing.

Either make it an option (check box) where you can set alt to be what it is now, or have it toggle health bars
or have it be a completely separate button. In HoN, alt is the same as SC2, but <'> toggles health bars

Agreed.
Since I can't even see buildings burning, I'd like the HP bars in the first 5 minutes of the game (before they get cluttered, etc.) - going through settings takes too long in a fast paced RTS =(

they really need to make the hp bars smaller and remove the grids. i would love to have them on for microing purposes, but they're so ugly :S
|
Hmm... I've never really needed anything like that in WC3. Could someone please also check if [ and ] buttons, for your/enemy health bars only, are present in SC2?
|
I really want this idea. The health bars are extremely useful to use roaches properly with burrow, but for the most of the rest of the game, they are extremely disruptive. Having 50 zerglings with health bars is utterly pointless. Having marine blobs covered with health bars just makes it harder to see their unit makeup.

i have health bar on the units i select only, i totally recomend that cause its like sc1 and when i wanna see enemy army hp i hold in alt

Having units selected is not always useful. For example with roaches, if you have them all selected, you can't just burrow one. You'd have to select them all, wait, select one, burrow, select them all again. With bars on all the time, you just select burrow, select burrow. But I don't want them on all the time.

It would be awesome to have an option to
a) show HP bars for units only ( all time ) b) shows HP bars for units all time and buildings on press ;o

The only time you need HP bars on units is in-battle.

That would be a nice feature. It would be more convenient than either switching it on/off in the options are holding down alt.
|
It would be awesome if you could customize which units show health bars.
For example: there is absolutely no reason to need to see health bars on your interceptors... they're just distracting.

Health bars should only show for units that are damaged. No point in showing the health bar of a unit at 100%. It is just unnecessary clutter.

Would be very logical to add this feature.

What about removing health bars from the game? just like in bw o_o
