We are looking for quality beta VODs to fill up the video section on our Sc2 beta page. So, if you want to contribute to TL's beta coverage and gain some e-fame, start producing VODs! We are looking for basically anything gameplay related, it can be just high level good games, first person instructional videos, highlight compilations, anything that is worthwhile to watch, especially for our poor friends who didn't receive a beta key.
You can produce from your own beta experience, or take one of the top replays from the dedicated thread and produce a VOD from it! Remember, for every happy nerd shredding zerglings on the bnet there are 100 still hitting F5 on their mailboxes who crave for more SC2 content. Especially english commentated VODs are appreciated I would imagine.
Our Youtube channel supports unlimited video length, size, and quality so you can post full games uninterrupted and in full HD and the channel and the beta page get tenths of thousands of visits every day.
If you have something please PM me.
Also please share tipps on how to produce VODs in this thread so I can extend the resource section.
I convert the raw WeGame files to a 1440x1080 .wmv file. A 1.5 GB raw file gets brought down to about 50 MB this way. Then, I just upload that .wmv file to Youtube and it can be displayed in 1080p or lower automatically.

you do realize that there is no difference between the 720p and 1080p versions of your videos? why not just capture them at a lower res, without all the hiccups ... resolution is not everything ...

there is an ever so slight difference (if you pay attention to the gg gl hf at the start of the game you can see the detail change)
The hiccups are actually from the game itself when I'm playing. The 1080p and 720p versions are certainly different, as it squeezes 360 more pixels into the same area... I'm not sure what size monitor you've got or if you're watching them in full-screen, but there is a difference. =)
Edit: Oh, and when I first started uploading these I played with different resolutions. The file size differences are negligible, and some people won't want to watch anything -but- 1080p. That alone is enough reason to just upload them like that.
it's not 360 more pixels it's actually a bit over double 1920x1080 = 2073600 1280x720 = 921600
2073600/921600 =2.25 times larger
Which youtube does i believe last time i checked 2000kbp/s ABR for 720p and 4000kbp/s ABR for 1080p with a + - of 500 kbp/s i believe in variance.
Although you're not getting really more bit rate per size large size along lowers complexity needed to maintain picture quality and so you do see a bit better.
But really mainly it's an issue with proper encoding and resizing before hand, you-tube handles resizing poorly and doesn't dither properly to maintain details such as text very well granted they need to pump out thousands of vids every hour so it is a balance between server load and quality.
Anyone with a 1v1 game PvZ or ZvP point of view (FPVOD) where NYNDUS and alot of back'n'forth game with expansions - Lets say a typical SCI PvZ but with NYNDUS as a main "strategy" for zerg.
This is a request if someone can just whip it up for me <3
I record with fraps and edit/encode with Vegas to the h264 codec using a quantizer of 15. I can make a detailed tutorial if desired.
Please do!
Again if you want your videos posted on the beta page let me know, plus you can uploa them to our channel with gives you 10x views and unlimited video length / quality.
Sure! Does that require me to re-upload them? The biggest killer for my videos right now is the extreme upload length.
I made a quick video showing how I encode stuff. I'll upload it after my next VOD. I think I need to figure out a better compression for the videos, though, they're coming out too big.

Uploaded a quick, dirty video showing my way of converting videos from Fraps to youtube format.
It's 1080p so view in fullscreen (once it finishes processing anyways)
Hopefully it gives you some idea of how to go about such a process. The files my process produce are quite large, need to figure out a finer setting tuning to reduce their size a bit. But 1080p at good quality will always be pretty big.

I wonder if you could favorite them instead? Do you accept video responses? Like the other fellow, uploading seems to be a pain, especially for full matches. I'm going to be making more videos every day, but more in the 90-second firefight or harassment style. I'm not the greatest player, and I know people mostly just want to see unit interaction. If they wanna watch platinum players, they'll crack their replays. =)

So... if someone wants to upload to your channel they send the file to... you?
