That's what I thought. The only early anti-air Zerg has now, is the queen. Which can be neutralized easily by 2 phoenix.
Guess I have to start thinking up the counter to this and scout early

I do actually believe that they may have removed lurkers because we all know how hard it is for newbs to beat lurkers..
Just watch some low level ZvTs and see Terran get massacred by a-moving his M&Ms into 3 lurkers and losing the game...
I hope it's not final.How the fuck could they remove one of the most iconic zerg units just like that..

If it's not in the final version of Wings, they will probably try to put it in Fury...
I remember some interview where Blizzard talked about that exact problem, Iconic Zerg Units. Pretty much all their units are iconic...

You'll likely see lurkers make an appearance in the single player campaign, the way they've been hinting that there will be lots of single player exclusive units.

One of the most recent blizzard tweets mentioned that lurkers and archons were being underutilised and that they are working to solve the problem. My guess is the simply disabled the lurker till they are happy with the changes they are making to it before allowing people to get use to the way it works.

Could be. Although I think I saw an archon in a game yesterday.
I guess they just want to be able to add and change units without people abusing them. Perhaps Lurkers were doing damage too quickly?

Guess I have to start thinking up the counter to this and scout early  A queen costs just 100 minerals and is better at shooting air than old hydras, have twice the health and can heal each other. If you want to defend against air why don't you build more than one queen? It is not like it takes larvae either.
