For me, I have found that the chat channels increase lag by a great amount, but when i close all the chat windows within HotS, I have greatly reduced lag and I have even gone so far as closing all the outside programs that I normally have had on while playing HotS, i.e. Google Chrome, Itunes etc. and my lag has nearly diminished all the way. So this may be the cause of some problems but not all. These things could be worth considering however...

It was fine before the "replay" patch, and the beta has always been global play there is only one client.

I've had this BS for about a week now...I thought it was fixed after I re-downloaded but it's back today. It's like playing in slowmotion and there's no reason for it no my end. Internet is fine I've been able to play fine before the last week or so. If it's going to be bad like this no reason to waste money on it.

So I live in the United States and I am experiencing some pretty bad lag. Not lag like FPS lag that some people are experiencing, but just simply a low ping. When I connect to WoL I have about 200 ping which is pretty normal for SC2 I believe, but when I connect to HOTS I have 500 ping. Why this is, I do not know. Just figured I'd share my experiences to maybe help figure out what is going on.

For me it's not so much I'm getting lag spikes or anything (although I do get the occasional ones), it's much more so a delay when I'm playing. It's so bad that I get better latency playing on the WoL KR or Eu server (being from NA), my units take like 3 seconds to respond to any command I issue. To put it better in perspective when I'm putting one of my workers on the closest patch he will go to the other patch he was already heading to and mine for a second or so before responding.

Yes, I have the same issue as OP, the constant spikes every few seconds, then it runs smoothly, then it starts again. The problem is, I have the same issue in WoL from the day that they introduced 1.5.0 patch(was it 1.5.0?), with arcade and other things. Before that patch, everything was really good and was running quite smoothly.

if you are zerg you can honestly win at a much higher rate with early pools. bc of the latency its MUCH harder to micro drones to get a proper surround on the lings.

Yeah its the same for me. It seems to be worse at night, which normally my campus internet is worse at night so that might just be me... but the delay is so severe that it isn't even worth playing. During the day it isn't too bad for me though, so I think part of my problem is the campus internet sucks, and it isn't all on Blizzard. However, that doesn't change the fact that the ping in WoL is significantly lower than in HotS no matter what time of day it is or whether it is playable or not.

I have stutter step lag, it got so bad I can't even connect to battle net servers anymore. Not on HoTS nor WoL....... I hope they fix this.

To addition of spikes/lags/gamespeedinglowing/laggingwhileboxingprobes i hate hots graphics settings, why the fuck cant i have high models without stupid shaders.. in WOL you can have high models settings while shaders set on low, which give you a nice "unshiny" "notlookinglikebulb" game graphics. In HOTS when you turn set low shaders you have plastic models... and you cant change it.

Has anyone experieced a significant increase in lag/stuttering over the last few days? Last Wednesday I was playing almost lag free but since then its almost unplayable. Really sad
