so the last two achievements i need for this part of the campaign is Overmind Dead Body and Blaze of glory.
In Overmind Dead Body you are tasked to beat the mission in under 20 mins on hard. I want to ask anyone out there that has beat it what do you do and what's the quickest way to get this achievement.
In Blaze Of Glory you are tasked to kill 750 additional zerg units on top of the original that you have to kill in order to complete the mission(besides the other stuff) what units do you guys use and how do you position your army on the map?
In overmind dead body, you can actually speed run it with just Zeratul. (look up on youtube) But if you just use him + observers + handful of stalkers to snipe overseers. You can do it really easy. Don't try to kill everything just use zeratuls special stuff.
Blaze of Glory, single most important thing is upgrades. Get ground attack and shields to 3, and fully upgrade air. Build 8-10 colossus put between 2 ramps. Spam cannons at top of ramp and mass air. Lift hybrids with phoenix. I dunno. Its really easy on normal. You can do it easily while holding the archives and mining out the extra base to the North.
Edit: obv if you want to hold archives you can't retreat up to top base till they are done. But in no situation try to hold all 3 gaps. If you are trying to hold archives just put all your colossus right on top of them.
The speed run with Zeratul (save in alternating save points at every new point) is defiantely the way to go if you're just interested in the achievement.
As to the Blaze of Glory I slightly disagree with Atreides though, with just the most basic of micro you can easily hold all your ground with the right composition - but if you want to ignore the archives you can but this is how to do both really easily. First, you want to make sure you produce a few more workers at each nexus, and throw down another Forge and Robotics Facility. Your goal the whole game is to produce Colossus and use the other units you're given whilst upgrading everything constantly until max. Have your Colossus and other ground units in a group and all your air in a second control group. As soon as you start having more minerals than you can spend without queueing too much begin filling the entire top parts with cannons around the bottom area you're protecting. There should be a couple of cannons up there at the start but fill the whole thing with as many cannons as you can, and then begin to also prepare the top of your ramp in your main with as many cannons as you can afford too.
Literally at this point A move when you see an army coming in and use graviton beams to lift up the melee hydra's - the only time to produce something not a Colossus is if you're running low on Graviton Beams. This method is shamelessly stolen from Zai (Psy's brother) and I was able to get the achievement whilst not on an achievement run on Brutal difficulty as a (at the time) Bronze Zerg - it really is that easy.
Simply A moving around (although occasionally you may have to box a few to move) to where the attacks come and Graviton beam up the melee Hybrids and retreat after holding the archives will ensure you the win.
Another strat is for Blaze of Glory is to wall off the three ramps with dts and maintain a good amount of phoenix and void rays while massing either void rays or carriers. Overseers do not really make an appearance until around the 12 or 14 minute mark, used to have all the timings written down somewhere. Eventually they send too many overseers and you can retreat back to the double ramp, but you will have an awesome airforce by then, assuming you have been getting your upgrades along the way.
Overmind dead body can be speedrun'ed with Zeratul, look up on YouTube. Blaze of Glory is harder, but doable in several ways. Upgrades and macro are key of course, but also unit comps. My favourite was the infamous DT-wall on every ramp on hold position, with a deathball behind it moving around to whichever side needs it. Also, having a healthy number of pheonixes will help to gravition beam all the hybrids.
Edit: Also, if you can, try to sneak in the gold base at the top left. You won't be able to keep it for very long, but it's worth the 400 mineral investment by far.
The easiest way to get the 750 additional kills is to build a lot of immortals and get both ground and air upgrades. For air defense, rebuild some phoenixes as you start to lose them, to handle brood lords and mutas.
Attack hybrids with immortals, they kill hybrids very fast.
Once they break through, make a lot of cannons on the high ground to increase you kill counter with killing zerglings.
Look up Overmind Dead Body on youtube, there's an awesome path you can take to do it super fast. I remember I did it one day on brutal using my laptop's touch-pad (my mouse was broken and I still wanted to play SC2 lol). It took like 5 or 6 saves, but I got it.
If I can get it with a touchpad, you should be able to do it with a mouse
I tried DT walls many time in that mission. It is doable, but requires a lot of attention and micro. The mass immortal approach is way easier to perform. You don't need to carefully place your DTs to wall yourself in. You don't need to worry about overseers in the first place. You also don't need to lift hybrids. You don't need VR neither carriers, just some additional phoenixes to reinforce your air defense.
Immortals, some phoenixes and some additional probes are the only units needed to build. Upgrades are important of course. The only micromanagement needed is a-move with having up to two land forces and a single air force control group.
I had trouble with this achievement, as well as the mission on brutal.
I used this walkthrough to beat the brutal mission
even though the achievement is for normal, the strats used on this walkthrough will get you the achievement handily. (I actually got the achievement on brutal)

You can stay alive forever.
Yeah, if you can phoenix micro like god and spot the overseers before they get within detection range of your DTs, that's the best way to go. Otherwise, it's called Youtube. Look it up.
Also, I was getting the Overmind Body achievement the other day, and I realized that for the last tendril, there's an ultralisk standing over it. They put that in sometime recently, no idea when, but you can use the same strat for the first four. Then, just sit Zeratul in that corner above it, and deathball. Attack as soon as possible, and kill the ultra. Then just blink in.
