Don't be stingy with your bombs: use them as soon as it looks like you might be in danger of getting hit by something. Better to use a bomb than lose a drone (or a life). I mostly only needed bombs for the bosses during the first 2 runs (but again use them any time you think you might get hit - better safe than sorry). The third time through I was pretty much spamming them because I wanted to be super safe and not die so close to the end. | ||

It's actually quite easy. I quit just after 1000000 points with 7 lives and around 20 bombs... and then I was told there is supposedly a hidden 2M point achievement  | ||

I found that using side missiles, not plasma was better. side missiles plus 2 drones completely annihilates waves. If you park int he lower center of the screen, mashing space, you will most likely kill waves after wave before they get on screen. Side missiles are most valuable during the terran wave, as the toss wave and zerg wave are not that difficult. The trade-off is that the terra-tron is more difficult with sidemissiles, but totally doable. Also, an important note is your KEYBOARD POSITION. I have my left hand on the space bar, and my right hand on the arrows, but most importantly, the thumb on my right hand on right control. Never lose your cool if you get hit. if you get hit, hit escape, chill out for a second, and then get back into it. Also, be liberal with your use of bombs. you only need two bombs max to defeat the terratron. if you play your cards right, you can get 10 bombs in each level, except the toss level, where you get maybe 6 or 7. Also, because bombs are points, use a bomb to get a bomb if you must, and always use a bomb to get two or three bombs if there is anything hostile on the screen. (there is a spot on the zerg stage where if you wait a moment, there can be three bomb pick-ups at once.) Finally, I noticed that interceptors are worth 50 points each. If you can't get through the game, but you have the time, maybe you can get plasma, and kill some 1000 interceptors? | ||

What helped me a lot is this: - dont concentrate on hitting sth, only concentrate on dodging. (the MOST important rule) - no need to dodge with fast and big movements. dodge slowly is much easier. Otherwise the risk is high, that you run into some stray bullet. if you feel unconfident, use a bomb. Dont think twice about it. Just use it. - be patient with power ups. They stay for quite a while. dont grap them right when you see one. - use bomb to get drone power up, if you dont have 2 drones. - drone > everything else. Not just for extra life, but because of the shooting. | ||

 When you go at it with an ease mind, just follow these tactics. Might sound like a lot of stuff, but actually it is very intuitive after having played lost viking just a few times. Very few skill is required when you have the tactics down. General tips: -Priority 1: Dodging/Surviving -Priority 2: Constant shooting, with pressing space rapidly, not just holding it down, because it's faster -Priority 3: Shooting them down as fast as possible. First the squishy ones, when you are for example at battle cruiser/science vessels. Kill those last. Take care not to colide with anyone. -Priority 4: Get the RIGHT items. You will definitly want plasma bullets in Terran level, so take those asap. When another weapon upgrade pops up although you already have your weapon maxed, then wait until it turns into a drone or bomb! Item priority: Lv2 weapon > Drone > Bomb. Actually you should gather the lv 2 plasma gun right at the very beginning and then never again pick weapon upgrades (only if you die). Keep up two drones at all times, you should have two during mid of first Zerg level at the very latest. Drones will also deal the majority of damage in many levels, beucause they aim for themselves, and basically add a life point! This allows you to avoid all fire and still kill all enemies without even aiming. This is especially useful in boss fights where you often dodge like crazy and cannot apply much damage without drones. Bombs: Use them often, whenever you sense danger. Especially against corrupters, battlecruisers, science vessels when there also are also lots of small ships around. This is especially true in higher terran levels when there are also flame throwers at the sides. You should keep a high bomb stack at all times. This is easily done, when you keep your two drones alive and wait for all dropping items to become bombs. You may use a bomb in order to collect a drone when you miss one, or in order to collect a new bomb, when you cannot reach it safely otherwise. You should also sacrifice a bomb in order to safe a drone when you have to. This is a good trade, because you always want two drones, and it doesn't matter whether you lose a drone and collect a new one later, or use a bomb and collect a new one. Saving the drone has priority, always. Always use a bomb when you cannot dodge anymore. They make you invincible for a short moment and kill off all shots that are in the air. As I said, rather sacrifice a bomb than a drone. | ||

The purpose of my post is just to bring some light on a trick i read on TLpedia so don't flame me plz, i really hope that my video will make blizzard fix the bug. So basicly there is a way to save the game in Lost viking as explained in various threads and on TLpedia which makes the achievement really easy to get. + Show Spoiler + If this post does not respect TL's rule, i will delet it ASAP no need to ban me | ||

Since the menu isn't normally accessible, I'm pretty sure blizz did not intend to have it this way, have you posted this on the battle.net forums? There they can actually do something about it | ||
