diamondbacks are really cool units, but I fear they are actually quite bad (even with their 2 upgrades). Diamondbacks were one of the first units I got, and once I completed the mission, I took both the upgrades, assuming I'd use them in all subsequent missions. Turns out I almost never used them again, and the two times I did, I would have been much better off not using them.
They are kinda slow, for a "fast" unit at least. I think speed zealots and zerglings would have a field day with them, while all sorts of other units would easily counter them for less cost and supply (void rays, phoenix, infestor, hydralisk, in fact, probably almost any army) I may not have actually said this, so I'll say it now: They are too slow to be a real harasser unit. Not to mention what are they supposed to harass? they are worse then hellions or reapers at killing workers, and worse than reapers and void rays at killing buildings.

I can see them being used exclusively and extensively in TvT. Right now, since the matchup is for the most part Tank/Viking versus Tank/Viking, a siegebreaker like the Diamondback would be welcomed. The only thing Terran has that can break a critical mass of tanks is an overwhelming number of stimmed Marauders, but even then, it's very difficult to pull off.
Diamondbacks cost only slightly more than tanks, are roughly as resilient, but do ridiculous damage to armored units and can fire while approaching the siege line. I think it would add a lot of interesting dynamics to the matchup, at least more interesting than the trench warfare that the matchup is now.
