Is it possible to load up another player's save file where they are almost done a mission, and then claim the achievement for yourself?

I hope not! Although I couldn't care less about achievements people should earn them themselves. Its called an achievement for a reason...

I dont know this for sure, and I cant check since Im at work. But I remember reading something saying that the campaign progress is stored in the bnet cloud, so you dont even have the files on your HDD if thats true, so no sharing possible

Well I loaded an old save file and it changed my campaign progress, then I loaded my completed save file and it changed it again, so I'm thinking this will work, fortunately or unfortunately.

I'm not 100% sure if you can or not. But what I know you can do it save a game file that's played through on like casual with no money spent and no research taken. Then you can load up those save files for each mission and have you pick of tech for each specific mission. This works if you send it to other players.

Yes you can, I gave my save file for the Hurry Up,It's Raid Night achievement to my friend. Basically I saved it 5 minutes before I beat All In. He got it after waiting out 5 minutes.

I thought this was possible, but never tested it out. The entire point of achievements is that you're getting recognition for "achieving something" though.

Since achievements are only earned when connected online, they should encrypt save files with the bnet account of the user, and make unsigned save files when you save a game offline (in which achievements can't be earned anyway).

yes you can and yes it works, i had to did it for the opening gambit, i was always 20 seconds too short, so i could only get the silver, my friend gave me his save, i loaded it and i got the gold... i'm not proud of it, but i got so borred that i didn't want to try it again...
