*SPOILER FREE* Has anyone noticed that for the challenge levels, EXPERT seems to be more easier than ADVANCED? I actually got Gold awards for all 3 experts, silver for all 3 beginners, and can't even finish the advanced ones...
Is it just that I suck or do people feel like that as well?

Really? I found the beginner ones to be easy... I got gold on them... i only tried 1 advanced the storming one.... and i finsihed but couldn't make silver.... but the zerg rush one(expert) was pretty hard.. i tried it twice and couldn't do it still.

The Expert ones were much easier than the Advanced ones. I got gold on all three Expert on my first or second go whereas Advanced took 3 or 4 tries.

@monoxide What zerg expert one? I remember + Show Spoiler +

The zerg advanced challenge is really easy. Once you realize that your neural parasites last forever you can just go around and neural parasite every tank and colossus on the map and win easily.
I haven't really figured out what to do on the terran challenge though. I guess you have to study the map well there and come up with a good plan. It's easily the hardest of the three at least.

I agree with the OP completely. The expert ones were really really easy, the advanced ones are just about having a "trick". For the ghost/raven one, the trick would be to use auto turrets to tank and kill buildings, since they're worth 7 kills once the broodlings pop out, then just work your way to the middle and nuke it twice for the win. I didn't use a single PDD or seeker missle. Don't overuse cloak either, just let auto turrets tank.
For Psionic Assault, I would say the trick is to use hallucinations to tank the ranged units. Depending on the group, you only need 1-2 hallucinated archons or immortals to tank any ranged group long enough to kill it with a storm and a few zaps. Also, I ended up morphing 2 of my HTs into an archon towards the end once they were out of energy, which helped a lot.
For the zerg one, it was super easy, as mentioned above. All the other units are on hold position so they won't even fight you at all, and NP lasts forever, so it's disappointingly easy.
The "basic" ones took several tries each to get to gold, they were awesome.

I got gold on every mission except the ghost nuke one on the first try. Severely disappointed at the diffuculty of these. I was hoping for something more similar to the really hard sc1 micro maps.

I've only tried the basic ones, but it shows that I'm pretty bad at Protoss...
First try, 8 losses on Terran First try, 8 losses on Zerg First, second and third try, 21 losses on Protoss... to add insult to injury, that's 1 short of Silver.
I think my main problem is the carriers vs thors... The subset of the map is too small to really run away and let the interceptors do their thing without taking way too many hits on the carriers themselves. I tend to put my templar in that section, but it doesn't seem to help all that much...

Ehh you put the carriers in a line attack at the same time. just hold position dont try to move them too mutch. If you're line is good they will be all attacked a litle bit. (DO NOT clumb up your carriers) if one is getting targeted mutch move it back and forward a bit to get out of fire). This was most likely the easiest protoss one.
Btw you can retry a lvl and ceep improving your score. you dont have to start all over with the mission.

Basic ones are pretty simple and this comes from a bad, bad SC1 player. I only had trouble with protoss one for some reason.
Nukes take some planning to see where you can kill more units esp for gold.
I've only got bronze in HT+Sentry one and micro one but I only tried them once.
Infestor one is easy as explained, some units refuse to attack you even if you're close, prolly a bug. 1. Move to a tank with a burrowed infester 2. NP 3. ???? 4. Profit
Repeat for tanks and colossi.
For carrier vs thor, I had problems but finally did it with 0 losses. 1-Make a line of carriers and attack thors where the path gets a bit narrower 2-Focus fire with carriers. 3-Move damaged carriers out before they get too much damage (I move them back when their armor goes down) then move them back (it may be too late if you wait till red, I had a few cases where thors changed their target suddenly to kill the low health and I had no time to go back with the damage spike)

I don't think any of them are hard. I recently just gold'd all of them and IMO once you know how you need to do it, it's all execution. They're just trying to prepare you for multi-player anyway, so anyone that's diamond already should find it all relatively easy.

They're not meant to actually be difficult for someone who knows what they're doing.
Would have preferred if, for example, you had to do all 3 attack waves at the same time in the beginner missions though. Because I think one of the biggest faults of players starting out in multiplayer isn't just unit control, but multitasking.
