Seriously, korea's group mentality is like fucking hitler germany: One athlete or team places high in any sport and the entire fucking nation is behind them with crazy behavior. I know like 30 people adults and people my age that are telling me how great Kim Yuna is even though they don't follow figure skating at all. Same shit with World cup 02.

It wouldn't even be bad if it was like normal national pride...Koreans are just fucking insane with the group shit. But yeah good example.

Same shit with World cup 02. lol, although I'm not Korean, almost every country is like that. Sometimes it doesn't even relate to one's ethnicity. An example would be in the NHL, the San Jose Sharks started to get good around 2004/2005 and suddenly so many people in San Jose (and surrounding counties) jumped on the bandwagon and started to "like" hockey.

thats normal though, isn't it? i.e. korea isn't too good at many sports, sure they're skilled but they really don't have many athletes at all, so when someone does well, like really well, korea goes crazy to support them btw y.e. yang is another good example

Even in civil protests koreans were voted as some of the most vicious against police. Shit, there was even headline news a few months back about our congress fighting each other lmao... http://rogersparkbench.blogspot.com/2007/12/fist-fight-in-south-korean-congress.html Edit: Anyway I'm done...just something that has bothered me a lot. Congratulations to Kim Yuna.
