And yeah, it made sense to me why I stopped watching the game in the first place. I just don't feel the magic in the game anymore. Anyway, yeah, this isn't meant to be a disparaging post about the state of the sport.
I'll be keeping a close eye on Arsenal's PL final run-in. Really want them to win the league. It's been so long. Speaking of which, I don't really get the whole support behind City? Why would anyone want them to win over Arsenal? I mean, I get it, sure, but it's stupid? Short term fleeting gain for long term pain and enshittification of the league.
You should have watched the PSG vs Bayern instead xDD

I mean Atlético attacked more and had more chances than Arsenal that match (specially in the second half). So it is not like Arsenal is a fun team to watch.

Agreed. So combining the both is a tough choice, specially after the game from the previous day :D

Happy cake day!

If you had watched the game on Tuesday instead, you might have left with the opposite impression. Aye man it was an unlucky choice!

YES Arsenal second penalty: Also soft, but IMO clearer than the first. I tend to YES
Result: Both teams deserve one penalty. Fair result, no team got fcked from the refs. Atleti was the better team.
Agreed outside of Atletico being better, think it was pretty even.
I think the handball situation is complete bullshit, but within the realm of bullshit, probably the correct call. Aside from money distortion, handball is probably my least favourite thing in the game currently, but as it’s currently interpreted that was probably fair enough
Arsenal second penalty was like 100% a penalty, absolutely a soft one.
It’s just frustrating. I think in the pre-VAR age all incidents would be things fans would moan about, given moaning about refereeing decisions is a constant. But not that much, given they’re kinda borderline calls
Once you have VAR you have way less leeway on these marginal calls, you don’t have the excuse of simply misjudging in real time from a potentially awkward angle.
There’s a maddening lack of consistency. If you’re gonna disrupt the flow of the game, get it right

I mean they played low block for half an hour to defend a one goal lead against last place Wolves and got punished.
The bigger problem is that Saka and Odegaard went from being the most exciting creative players in the league to being always injured or shadows of themselves between injuries.

arsenals fans are annoying for sure, but for me as a non-fan, the way i look at arsenal is by separating the club from the fanbase. i have a lot of respect for the actual club and like dan hh i have a soft spot for them also, despite being traditionally rivals with utd.
i also agree that arteta's arsenal this season gives a lot of reason for people to dislike them. arsenal to me have always been the "english barcelona". that feels like their identity for an outsider looking in, and its why i came to respect that club a lot. theyve definitely lost that identity this season for sure.
and why i dont want city to win is no brainer. id take arsenal over city every single season
