Ali, Matip, Trent, Thiago, Baj, Szobo, Jones, Jota are all out now, maybe even Nunez. There goes our midfield and our front 3 depth. Thank god we got Endo back in time but now we have basically no depth anywhere on the pitch outside of our back 4, which is the least likely spot to even need subs in the first place.

Also in meme land... [Plettenberg] News #Solskjær: FC Bayern is monitoring the 50 y/o - as a potential interim solution! But the original plan remains: FC Bayern would like to continue with Thomas Tuchel at least until the end of the season!

Yall are going to have a much more intact starting XI than we will when we play. Without Szobo and Jones, our midfield domination of our last meeting is going to look a lot different.

obviously you wouldnt put him in the category of bayern munich level permanent coaches but as an interim id trust him to get some results

- Recover in Bundesliga (Unlikely if Leverkusen keeps up the pace, but maybe worth a shot) - Recover in UCL (Should be doable, it's just Lazio and 1-0 after all) - Do whatever you need to set up a nice start for the next season (keep core players happy, start drilling the future playstyle and so on). - Play entertaining football. If you don't get the desired trophies, you can at least entertain. No idea which ones they go for and who fits the profile.

If you think about it, this is also a valid approach. They had top coaches for the last couple of years and after winning CL, some things didnt go well. Last season, they rather got lucky to win the league, only because Dortmund are such a shit team. Also, in the national team, some players are having the same problems as at the club.

Like I said a few pages back: Get a manager for a year without much transfer money available. Squeezing whats left in the current squad Get Kloppo the year after and let him do his rebuild thingy with money available. For this year, Bundesliga is lost. At this point they might even become 3rd. UCL, home game vs Lazio is doable, like you said.

Hoeneß would rather die than allow this to happen willingly

But hey that’s not his fault! He’s still a bit of an odd fit for me for this particular gig. 1. He’s a United legend who was at the club for years. That did see fruit when that intangible boost, plus him seemingly being a very nice bloke managed to exorcise the ghost of latter-day Mourinho negativity. He isn’t a Bayern Munich legend, and I’m not saying it’s the world’s most happy camp, but is the issue really a deep-seated morale issue that he could uplift with his personality? I don’t know there. 2. Ole got United doing basically one thing really well at times in his tenure. Incisive counter-attacking football, using newly enthused young talent rather well even if at times in big statement wins (PSG, City games iirc) they’d ‘park the bus’ a bit. United never really implemented either some sophisticated pressing game, or one that dominated the ball and controlled games that way. Solskjaer’s aforementioned plan A fell apart because, as you point out Ronaldo came in and basically couldn’t run anymore. It hasn’t always come off but Bayern have shown for years and years now that they’re at least trying to be close to the tactical cutting edge of the game. They had Guardiola and all he brings. Flick had them playing some excellent stuff, Nagelsman was a clear hire of one of the most promising pressing disciples around and Tuchel has a reputation and history as someone very good in tactical sophistication too. Full respect to Ole but it makes absolutely zero sense for me to hire the guy who hasn’t implemented either of the two main things you’ve been trying to do for years. Hell, other baggage aside I don’t think even someone like Mourinho is stylistically a good fit.

Bayern doesn't want to (yet) cause Hoeneß is inexperienced. Hoeneß doesn't wanto to (yet) cause business at Bayern is cutthroat and can end your career before it really started I can see both becomming less of an issues 1-5 years down the line EDIT: THIS JUST IN: TUCHEL DONE AFTER THE SEASON!

Kimmich is a really difficult decision. Yes he hasnt been the best lately but when they let Kimmich go they lose their future "Mia san mia" character once Müller retires. Can Bayern survive that? Its what made Bayern Bayern after all Yes they will lose their mia san mia guy but its not hard to build up another one, also Kimmich sucks also in the german national squad as well. He needs either humbling or a new view on things, and he will get criticized wwhen staying at Bayern no matter what. He is not up to being a strong character as Müller. Not made of what it takes to still deliver plus being a great leader. Having quarrels with coaching stuff doesnt help too.
