Brentford FC can confirm the signing of Denmark international midfield player Christian Eriksen, subject to international clearance. The 29-year-old signed his contract after completing a medical assessment. He has signed until the end of the 2021/22 season. Discussing the process of signing Christian, Phil Giles, Brentford Director of Football, said: “We first discussed the possibility of Christian joining Brentford when we heard that he would be leaving Inter. It is fantastic that he is now with us. “Naturally the process of signing Christian was more elongated than most transfers. I understand that many people will have questions about the process. In order to respect Christian’s medical confidentiality, we won’t be going into any details. Brentford fans can rest assured that we have undertaken significant due diligence to ensure that Christian is in the best possible shape to return to competitive football. Now Christian has made the decision to sign for Brentford, all parties want to focus fully on football. “We are sure that Christian will make a big impact at Brentford and on the Premier League between now and the end of the season.” Brentford official website Also! Burnley have signed Wout Weghorst from Wolfsburg. As far as I can tell, this seems like an enormous upgrade on Chris Wood, no? Germans/Dutch amongst us have an opinion? Burnley Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Netherlands international Wout Weghorst from VfL Wolfsburg for an undisclosed fee. The 6’6-foot centre forward has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract at Turf Moor and will link up with his new teammates for training on Monday ahead of next weekend’s Premier League match against Watford. Weghorst arrived in England on Sunday afternoon to complete his medical and sign his contract at Turf Moor. The 29-year-old will take the vacant number nine shirt. Manager Sean Dyche said: “Wout is a player that our scouts have been strong on for some time and we feel that he can add to all that we do at Burnley Football Club. Burnley official website

Mbappe Haaland and Vini Jr front 3 next season i think, add in Pogba on a free in midfield as well and those 3 players cost him a total of £65 million xD (Vini Jr was signed as a kid and that has already paid for itself)

That would be a super sad scenario for him...but I don't see how they play both in a 4-4-2, or even 5-4-1. Any chance that Lampard could be planning some system with some sort of #10 role there? You'd have Alli there as initial starter and VDB as rotation and challenger for the position.

Plenty of firepower, but I've got no clue if their roles compliment each other even the slightest. They also need to sort out some kind of midfield that'll work together with that and some kind of wage structure to go with all of it. While it defo screams football manager x fifa, i think Mbappe has shown he can play "outwide" though and Real Madrid always play attacking wingers who don't exactly put a shift in going backwards. So Mbappe outwide and Haaland up top works, i don't see Mbappe as a 9 anyway, he doesn't scream holding up the ball or strong in the air though.
