Newcastle have activated Chris Wood's release clause (thought to be 25 million pounds) at Burnley.

Newcastle United have signed New Zealand striker Chris Wood from Burnley for £25m.

The 30-year-old has agreed a contract at St James' Park until the end of the 2023-24 season.

Magpies boss Eddie Howe targeted attacking reinforcements after Callum Wilson was ruled out for eight weeks with a calf injury.

It had been thought Burnley would not sell the player to a Premier League relegation rival, but Newcastle triggered the release clause in his Clarets contract.

"This is a very exciting opportunity for me and I'm delighted to be a Newcastle United player," said Wood.

I think Liverpool is pretty much a Covid mess at this point. Might be one of those games that end something like 5-3 or 3-5 depending on how the random bounces go.

Quite impressive to be fair, kinda does show how much reliance Scouse have on Mane and Salah. Which is both a good and bad thing as i mean which team wouldn't miss their top two goal scorers with one being arguably the best player in world right now, but also bad because they shouldn't be relying on just one player if they consider themselves a big club.

Tommy Tactics got it a bit wrong in first half trying to play counter attack without of form players like Zyiech and Pulisic. Need people on the ball second half or there is only one winner it feels.

Yeah that is Kepa in a nutshell, makes some baffling decisions in his head trying to play the 4d chess game. Thinking DeBruyne knows im going to take a step right and save if he whips it into bottom right corner so im going to step left knowing he going to shot this near post....

Oh well Tommy Tactics got that team selection wrong and now we are well and truly out of the title race. Need to make sure we get top 4 wrapped up quickly so we can focus on some cup competitions
