I think this is just a blindspot for Silver. He was probably convinced by all the wrong sorts of people that this was a mistake, when Ja could have killed someone and would be permanently banned from every gun club I've ever heard of.

cant remember a time where a perennial all nba player is traded because of their baggage. i think most teams would rather take the chance and work it out with the player and hope they stop being stupid.

i think the suns are going to be fucked a while after this beal trade. he doesnt make them better, and does not address any of their depth issues. nothing like buying a team that was just in the finals a few years ago and going straight into the gutter in 3 years.

25 games is strategic. I think it keeps Ja from winning any of the end of season awards that lets him get paid a higher max tier. It might actually help the Grizz assuming he fixes his act.

It occurred to me this morning why the NBA is being so strict with Ja.

Ja's behavior looks ESPECIALLY bad when you consider what the NBA has been promoting in its social justice campaigns the last few years. If the NBA didn't crack down on him and crack down on him hard they would look really stupid after getting involved in that particular issue.

The new CBA is far more punishing for teams that are way over the cap. The Warriors need to shed salary.

Dillon Brooks is an FA. If the Warriors sign him to pair with Draymond and CP3, opponents are going to need a cup.

warriors are still win now, they are going to keep paul. the cost cutting moves are next offseason when paul get waived (his salary is non-guaranteed next year, or they trade him at the deadline for help) and they sign klay to a much lower number (he's making like 42 mil)
