Also on Derozan, how does that guy get better every single year? Most one dimensional high volume low efficiency scorers just stay that way, now he is like transforming the bulls into a contender. He got better every year with the raps but he was not this! i thought the knock on derozan was because of his playoff performances and/or that his teams didnt win said playoff games.

I also think its prety unfair because those celtic and heat teams were pretty freakin stacked! If he was with bosh and wade or Lebron he might have been a winner! It will be interesting to see how the bulls do because they seem like they will be over matched by the bucks and certainly the nets if they are at full power, but with health Covid and all that it will be interesting to see. I've been thinking lately, and take this with a grain of salt because of the ages involved, but the storey was always that Durrant couldn't get in done in OKC with enough talent around him. But Lebron is doing a hell of a lot worse with Westbrook than Durrant did. I think it is pretty clear that Bosh and Wade were a hell of a lot better twosome than Ibaka and Westbrook when it comes to winning. And that is before you take into account that the heat had the easier east to move through. LBJ has Davis (though hes hurt a ton) who is much better than Ibaka and Westbrook and he is unable to figure out how to make it work. I think this is helping Durrants Legacy, if he can win a championship or two more the greatest player of the generation will at least be a discussion IMO. I know this is an unpopular take where is harden, i think even in his last year OKC (year 3), he is better than anyone not lebron/davis on the lakers right now tbh as bad as that sounds. AD literally is playing like someone took his balls (not basketballs). lakers completely fucked themselves with the westbrook trade, their bench/d is all gone, which was a big part of why they were so successful in their title year. and i think lebron could've won in OKC if u put him on that team, however i do agree that wade/bosh as a duo was a better fit for a championship team (they were also MUCH more experienced than russ/harden at that point). speaking of harden, is this just a bad year for him or....? i think his shooting numbers are all career lows, only better than his rookie year. TO% is highest in his career

But they seriously lack rebounding / rim presence. Griffin is a non factor by now, LMA still can score from the midrange, but is old as well. Claxton has talent, but is still very inconsistent. They got absolutely hammered by the Grizzlies, Adams was feasting the whole game. Their rotations are also weird. KD is playing too many minutes imho. I know he just loves to ball, but with his past, Nash should find a way to give him more rest. @Lakers: I think they're about to figure sth out. With LBJ at center, they get better spacing. Monk can score, Westbrook is forced to pass more. Even THT played better in their last games. Melo is old af, but deadly from 3 rn, at least in home games. The big question is whether AD can find a spot in this system. Putting him at the 4 should be great theoretically, but his outside shooting looked off this season. I have nothing but respect for the things Lebron does at 37. Westbrook on the other hand has to calm down somehow. If he stops turning the ball over 8 times per game, they can at least make the playoffs. I don't see them winning a series vs healthy GS or PHX though.

The Warriors, for example, were roughly 20th in free throw attempts per game in their best year during their championship contending years. And that was with Durant there. It's no wonder they are adjusting better to less foul baiting calls than most other teams.

Not because I don't like Klay or anything, I just hate how NBA contract rules have worked over the last few cycles.

The knock on Derozan is his defense and inability to score in the playoffs when defenders are focused and dedicated to locking him down in a way they don't do in the regular season. He's been working on his playmaking since his last year in Toronto and basically turned himself into a point-guard, which has been really cool to watch. Part of why he looks so great this year is that the players around him are all really good as well. Lavine and Ball are both shooting 3s at 40% on 7.5attempts per game, he never had that in Toronto/San Antonio. It helps the floor spacing for him so he has room to work inside the 3pt line and gives him solid outlets when he gets in trouble. Vucevic is a solid center too, giving him an inside option. They also all play D. I'm pretty sure this is the best group of starters he's ever played with talent-wise, and it makes him better in return.
