EPTThe new blood in F1 is badly needed tbh. It's been fairly stale the last couple years, and with the restricted testing, there are a fair number of talented F2 drivers who don't get a chance at F1.

But they did invest a ton of money, have had several out of the box ideas that unfortunately didn't go anywhere or wasn't allowed, and they've done well as a mid field team and engine supplier. Fighting near the front of the mid field and getting fourth a couple of times. The season they pulled out they ended fifth in the WCC, and even had a couple of podiums and second place finishes | ||

First he compared the Verstappen-Norris situation with Bottas-Russel explaining that the difference is if the defender is on the inside or on the outside - benefiting the defender. Then he showed the Norris-Verstappen (lap 1) situation, which was exactly the same as Bottas-Russel, but apparently this did not matter because the rules don't apply in lap 1... Not sure I agree with his take. Button certainly did not agree with that take. | ||

Yeah, unfortunately the precedent was set in 2021, and this is the way they've ruled in similar incidents since. I still think it's bullshit, and they need to get rid of it. You shouldn't be allowed to just push your opponent off track because your nose was a cm ahead of your opponent at the apex. That means even if you are behind going into the braking zone, you can purposefully brake late, never intend to make the corner, and just shove people off track. It's ridiculous and only serves to heighten bad driving standard | ||

Yeah I kinda feel the fair way to address it is if you go off the track like max did trying to defend the position, you get a 5s penalty for forcing another driver off the track, and then Norris gets 5s for overtaking off the track if he holds the position. Gotta remedy the driving standards somewhere, and a double penalty is a good place to start. | ||
