Its sad, he was overcoming RB shortcommings and was om his was to a podium despite the team and car :/ He is no longer a kid, he should keep his cool better. Norris making the team sweat....i get his point but still. | ||

With more patience Max would've passed Lewis eventually you'd think which would've gotten him 3rd, the highest possible today, probably. If Red Bull went with earlier pit stops, Max would've gotten 3rd as well but without the hassle of having to do the overtakes. He could've only lost 3 points to Lando instead of whatever it's going to be now (possible penalty). Max maneuver was stupid but as the stewards explained "car 44 could have done more to avoid the collision". He could. Not that it matters. Max bombed and failed the break but that there is more to that collision than that. Point is, lewis isnt helping anyone (apart frol himself maybe) with that comment. Racing incident it was. | ||

Racing incident it was. Lewis was also a lot less "classy" in the post race press conference about the incident. Unfortunately the English broadcast (from Sky at least) tends to view anything Max a bit more negative than they should, especially vs certain other drivers, and most people just go by anything they say. They didn't say anything about Lewis turning in but they did advocate for Max to get a penalty so people just go with that. Stewards did well here fortunately. Max really needs to learn to chill though, that was a dumb move. | ||

He also could easily turn in after Max flew by which he also could have done if he had turned in a sec later (avoiding the contact). You know, you aren't actually free to turn in at all times, even if the other driver is blocking you. If Lewis had turned in on Max that time in São Paulo he would have caused a collision and possibly gotten a penalty. That's just the rules. Also Max didn't get a penalty in São Paulo for preventing Lewis to turn in but for not letting him pass afterwards, he gained an advantage by not making the corner. (Lewis got the overtake done a bit later but it wasn't voluntarily by Max). Also; you could've easily made your point without the "silly" and "dumb" remarks. We're just discussing a sport, it's nothing serious. Edit: I now doubt that Max even got a penalty back then but post race consensus was he definitely should have gotten one and rules were inforced more strict from then on. | ||

It's not €60k, that would be wild (And based on the videos I've seen, not remotely worth it. Honestly most of the rigs in that price range seems like a scam). I'm only on €8k-ish. Got a Simlab P1 with triples, Simucube 2 pro, Heusinkveld ultimates, sbr gt3 wireless wheel, and a couple of bass-shakers that I had to unhook to appease my angry neighbours  At least until I can find a better solution for them. And of courser a few other bits and bobs here and there.But to answer your question, yes, I have raced Max and some of his Redline colleagues...in an GT3 practice session...whilst he was 2 seconds a lap faster than me. I'm pretty mid all things considered, but Max is a genuine alien | ||

Still 8k is a very impressive setup! Im back from vacation and checking much more indepth about a very beginner setup with a g29 and GT omega wheel stand. It wont be amazing but it will help ease the pain of my regular karting spot closing. Used to go there once a month to race against the Family and now its gone :/ | ||

I'm just about to get into karting myself. Talking with some people right now to buy their Rotax Max, and getting a licence in a week's time. Honestly, can't wait! Like I said, G29 is plenty for a while. At worst, you can just secure it to a regular desk, and shove some chalks under your chair (Or secure it with some towels, like I did for a while). A wheel stand will be better, of course, but anything is good as long as it gets you going Just avoid some of the absolute bottom barrel cheap wheels like the Momo, mostly because the short rotation makes it not in sync with the wheel in the sim, so when you turn 120 degrees in real life, it will be 200 degrees in game. It's an absolute chore to race with, and makes it impossible to race anywhere near the edge, as you simply can't catch any slides properly. | ||

This analysis from Martin shows the Max-Lewis situation from last weekend pretty clearly. Hamilton turns into Max. Whilst Max is definitely not in control of his car as he divebombs from out of space, locks up, and would have gone straight off, all Lewis had to do was wait with the turn-in, and pull the world's easiest switchback. Pretty clear racing incident; both parties could (and should) have done more. | ||

Lewis easily had the move covered just by continuing straight for another fraction of a second before turning in. It was easily avoidable for sure. | ||
