The ball has to be completly over the line (doesnt matter if in the air or on the ground) which it wasnt. Premier league is using goal-line technology.

I think overall City was more solid but it really came down to details. 1.3cm from a Pool goal first half type of details haha. I don't know if I'd put Bernardo Silva or Fernandinho as MVP, they just bossed the midfield most of the game.

Don't take too much risk, play to tire the opponent and score in the second half, but if you don't eeeeh not too bad.

Mad props to Klopp City punting balls out at minute 70. Takes alot of game to make Guardiola bend (or break briefly) his philosophy that much. But then again its about the quality of the players. Klopp has been whatever for the longest time but hes finally managed to build a team that Pep legit had to fear. On January 04 2019 06:56 WillyWanker wrote: Yeah what a game. Silva was everywhere and then some and Fernandinhos cover play was the best ive seen this season. It was just so high level all round.

That just shows how good Liverpool are. Honestly if one looked at a highlights package minus the goals you might be inclined to think Liverpool were slightly the better team. Obviously thats a really big factor to ignore and its a really overused Cliche but this game was the finest margins I can remember,

I meant the possession stat as more of a fun detail in how the teams push each other around and create interesting and sometimes surprising and unfamiliar dynamics in these matches. It's great football, some amazing players and a wonderful (and for now respectful) rivalry going on between Klopp and Guardiola.

Last 15 minutes was hoofball into the box... Not really the last 15 just the last 7-8. And for Liverpool its a legitimate last resort. And teams that rely purely on press dont win 20+ games by this time of the year. There are plenty of crabby teams in the league that would be able to stop them if that was the case. City stopped playing (if you can call it that) because they were forced to their own players have said as much in post game interviews. They had to guts it out because it was hard for them. I would have agreed with you last year. With some of their additions in midfield particular Fabian they can very much create because now there is a flair outlet ball from several sources in midfield to the front three rather than your standard mechanical into feet passes that are a staple of Milner and Hendo type players. Shaqiri had a bit of a stinker since he came on though which was disappointing.
