Yeah no news on it, he hasn't re applied. Just happy with his Israeli visa he uses now to come in and out of London if he wants but can't do business.
The champions league draw is indeed a poor one which is a shame. Some big name games like PSG vs Yanited and Bayern vs Pool, but their is very very clear favorites in those games which will make the tie irrelevant after the first leg. PSG and Scouse should have the games sewn up before leg 2 comes around. Atletico vs Juventus on paper is the best tie of the round though should be fun.
The ties for the individual teams like Ajax though is nice they get a big name to play against.
Europa league draw is where its at though :D

You really overestimate Liverpool and underestimate Bayern. And Mourinho isn't going to get 0-3 at home in CL. These 2 ties will be super even. The draw is actually awesome this year, best I can remember in many years.

Yeah I think Liverpool is a little overrated. A good tactical manager probably would be able to shut them down easily. Their defense is good though VVD is legit.

Is that just Ajax and PSV being really good, everyone else being bad or the usual "a bit of both"?
Ive seen some Ajax CL games this year for bits here and there and they have game, but they kinda always have game without being clinical and some lapses against quality opposition and it felt roughly the same to me as the past few years. Then again this is a very limited opinion so I am wondering if its worth looking into more if they are indeed much better than previous years. PSV to for that matter.

Well Man Utd Twitter just announced Jose leaving the club. Feel kinda sad for him actually, he was a really good manager for a long time. Hopefully he finds his footing at his new club and wish him all the best.
|
I also feel really sad for Mou. He can't milk United anymore doing a shitty job while being a dick to people.
My condolences.
€ I also feel sad btw. It's not like it was a trainwreck you could watch, it was way too boring for that, but it was fun nonetheless.

He's gone. Now who will they blame. He needs to take a break.
|
They're already blaming Woodward and the higher ups for not supporting Mourinho. I mean, they only gave him 400 million to spend on players, what were they expecting?

woodward is a shit executive, no doubt about that. landing some good commercial deals doesnt make up for the massive failure that is the entire period post fergie. his decision to sack mou now only highlights this further. how is sacking him now going to salvage the season? let mou stay for the top 4 fight and see where he goes in cl instead of hoping some new guy comes in and gets a miracle going with half a season left. fuck this club is in shambles

As far as I can tell, they're still looking for a director of football. Might be a good idea to sort that out because the current managerial roulette power structure clearly isn't working.

I think that's correct, they're still not clinical enough in front of goal, but their play is definitely better than in years. I'd say it's not been this good since 1996, but that's difficult to compare. A number of talents just happened to break through, and ajax finally spent some money as well (Tadic, Blind). But Tadic playing as a 9 shows what they're lacking, Dolberg isn't cutting it atm so ideally they need at least 1 new striker.
PSV has been really efficient, winning a lot of games on last minute goals or set pieces. They have much less potential, but a lot of fight (Van Bommel 😋). Tactically, they're strong too, dominating Ajax in the head to head game and usually only losing by 1 goal margins in CL except 1 game vs barca.

Also Mou was short one day of being fired on the Anniversary of him being fired at Chelsea. The 3 year curse is legit.

They didn't even want to witness the ending of the 3rd season trainwreck lol. Actually a bit sad because we are losing so much meme value.

I find a bit amusing that everybody feels need to clarify they're not hiring Wenger
|
It amuses me to think that United fans just assume that they can have any manager they want.
"Its OK" they say "We'll just have Pochettino".
Will you now? No-one wants to leave their good job for a shite one.
I think they should hire Eddie Howe and be done with it.

I wouldn't mind Mou staying for the rest of the season but many fans have grown tired over the past few months and honestly this isn't the worst decision either.
