Yes it's been known for a while now that it would basically come down to a NA bid. Canada and Mexico get like 4 games each or something like that. Some prime cities for games have already pulled out of hosting matches tho (should the NA bid get through) and I guess others will follow, too, thanks to FIFAs absolutely ridiculous demands of them. Chicago and Vancouver if I'm not mistaken for example are already out. | ||

Honestly as far as Canada should be concerned FIFA can go shove it. Entire NA continent is not really a big deal issue tbh. Most teams will be based regionally. Unfortunately not everyone seems as smart, while Vancouver, Chicago and Minnesota have done the sensible thing, its a local Govt decision and the Ontario Liberals are for some inexplicable reason, really eager to spend my tax dollars on this absurd waste. To have that first world cup in a nation with so few stadium already (probably i don't 100% know) surely it would be better to go to USA/Mexico/Canada | ||

I would love Morocco too (A country with football supporters and people that ply the sport, unlike Qatar) and I could travel from Spain easily but as Pande says, I don't think they can meet the stadium requirements. | ||

If at some point only autocracies and 2nd and 3rd world country in need of a reputation boost (even though they are entirely unable to host it) are volunteering to host World cups and Olympics it, there might finally be changes. But sure, if we always get some major nations to bail out FIFA/IOC and give it legitimization... why change? Wouldn't it be great: Russia -> Qatar -> Marocco -> Who's next? | ||

Lets give it to USA/Mexico/Canada and help grow the game their and take advantage of their huge stadiums. On the topic of tournaments hosts, Turkey vs Germany for Euro 2024 makes alot more sense, Turkey has the infrastructure in place already at least, with the addition of 1 or maybe 2 new stadiums to help out to host that competition, so if the argument was for that i would understand. Even with some parts of Turkey being very volatile due to being bordering with Syria. | ||
