my guess would be fatigue. germany has a longer break and even then dortmund struggled to be consistent with klopps style for the whole season. liverpool has less break and worse players than when dortmund was doing well, so it seems logical that they cant keep up with the system

Nope. Dortmund usually turned out better the second half of the season.
How would that make sense with fatigue?

I think Liverpool was performing at basically the peak level of what was possible with their squad at the start of the season. A team with those players isn't supposed to play as well as they were doing. Now they have had a slight drop in form and confidence and then they are significantly worse.
Also, out of their previous 5 league games, they do have one draw vs United and a draw vs Chelsea (United and Chelsea having a total of 1 combined loss in their previous 30 league games), and the performance in both those games was fine. It really seems like they have a massive issue with not managing to mobilize whenever it's a game where they are huge favorites.

Yeah i mean if you look at Scouse team it is short in many departments
Goalkeepers - They have a keeper from Germany who in Germany was not even well respected/thought of. He has come to England and is getting found out and making many mistakes, meaning now they have to play Mignolet. He is even worst, with constant mistakes and was the reason they signed another keeper
Defenders - They lack a world class centre back, signed Klaven who is Estonian captain and is already 31 starting him in premier league. They are now back to Matip and Lovren who lack pace together it seems.
Strikers - They have no one who can put the ball in the back of the net period. They have averaged probably like 70% possession since 2017 has begun and yet they have managed like 4 goals? With about probably 50 shots minimum. Sturridge is done, Origi is not as good as Klopp thinks he is. Firminho is not a striker. Then they have no one else.
TL;DR - Their squad is about 4-5 players short of a top 4 team let alone a team competing for the title.

Liverpool has zero depth. Each game their bench is laughable. Injuries and ANC meant their weak squad got exposed. Then factor in countless individual errors which shows a lack in quality.
I personally think they should stop playing firmino as striker and just stick with sturridge. Stop with the false nine nonsense and play with a real forward. I don't believe sturridge is that bad. He is just not being played to his strengths.

But then again when you start to think they are shit, they will surprise you woth a 5-0. Doesn't change the fact that they are shit tho.

Origi in his peak was god awful

So I go on holiday to Thailand and when I return everyone has given up and Chelsea are Premier League champions. At least my holiday was good. There is no point even anti supporting Chelsea they are so far ahead.

Couldn't find a pub to watch Chelsea against Liverpool, the game started at 3 am local time and all the pubs close at 2 o'clock :/ Was forced to watch the match on my phone...

Phillipp Lahm announced that he will retire after this season at the age of 33.
This is kinda sad but he goes while still one of the best. Most underrated player of his generation in my opinion. A fucking legend.

I miss Lahm when he played left back together with Bastian on the left wing. Germany 2006!

If u are a Liverpool fan, you haven't lost anything)) There was only one team, playing on the field - Chelsea. I like both these teams, and the way they play football this season, although I'm a fan of Arsenal. Konte and Klopp are great coaches, no doubt. But after the middle of the season Liverpool can't find its game, which is really sad. I think Chelsea will take the current season.

How is Lahm underrated? When he was playing fullback he was considered world class by everyone. He was only made fun of when he wanted to become Xavi lol

I think Guardiola at some point called Lahm perhaps the most intelligent player he has ever worked with. Considering the lineups Pep has fielded during the years, I'd consider it a pretty notable compliment.

Rummenigge added: "Bayern Munich are surprised by the actions of Philipp Lahm and his advisor.
"Until yesterday we were expecting to issue a joint statement from Philipp Lahm and Bayern Munich. Uli Hoeness and myself had honest, intensive talks in the past months with Philipp about a potential involvement in the management of our club.
"Last week he informed us he was currently not available for the sports director position and that he wants to end his contract early."

I think this once again proves how football wise Lahm has been exceptional but as a human being he plainly sucks.

I don't think so. According to this (Dutch) article, he was offered a position as 'sports director', but he would not be on the daily board. That would rub me the wrong way as well, it feels like they're kicking him upstairs. Besides, as he's generally perceived as a smart guy, he's probably tired of working with a bunch of Vollidioten.
