Wow lmao Anyone can challenge the champion if the UFC is on board and the athletic commission don't have objections. They wouldn't let Paul Felder fight Khabib because he wasn't in the top 15 at the time, but mostly anything goes. The UFC is able to strip (and they do), anyone they want quite at will. If a fighter is unable to fight for an extended period of time, they'd be stripped. If they strip Khabib, they'd probably make Ferguson vs winner of Diaz/Poirier for the title. | ||

That said, Khabib's group is nuts and pretty unpredictable, could be another factor Dana takes into account if he ends up banning him. | ||

You have DC who is 39 as a champion right now, Woodley is 36... All the other champions are younger, but you have a lot of top end competitors in that range. From the top of my head in heavyweight, Mark Hunt 44, Werdum 41, Miocic 36, Souza 38, Romero 41, Teixeira 38, Lawler 36, Maia 40... All pretty top end fighters. | ||

Doesn't change much but conor threw the first punch at one of khabib's cornerman ( i don't really blame him, the cornerman shouldn't antagonize him at this moment) but it kind of explains what happened, they didn't randomely sucker punched conor. Looks like one of the things that really pissed khabib off was conor hooking the gloves to stall (which is illegal). He was fuming at the end of round 3. | ||

When the camera returns to the ring one of the teammates is being held. Conor is a counter punch, the other corner man threw his punch first but connor's counter landed first. It's the sucker punch guy and then the first guy (who we don't see what happened) grabs him who he doesn't fight with. edit: from that video you can see the cornerman is going for the attack with his steps. Connor's just faster. edit: another video. Khabib goes for a flying kick with a hammerfist. He fucked up. | ||

Everyone saying Khabib should be stripped of the title. Its not the same attacking a bus in a parking lot, compared to attacking a bunch of people in the middle of a 20,000 crowd live on TV. Khabib also showed that he is an unbeatable fighter in this form. He did to Conor what he's done to everyone. | ||
