Bonuses are not public info and they are way higher than the disclosed salary

awesome fight, but quite disappointing the after match bullshit. I was surprised Khabib took all these cheap shots pre-fight from Conor, but apparently that was always the plan when he was saying "October 6". In his post-fight interview all he said was disrespect to religion/country/father, which mixed with the fight adrenaline (something you cant control) and there you go.

Still the fight was better than expected, that second round was quite a show.

Also Herb Dean is making so many mistakes as a referee lately, Conor cheated so many times during this fight - knee to the face while they were on the ground, toes and fingers grabbing the fence multiple times, including both feet at once a few times, glove held.

In addition from the incredibly late stoppage from what, 2-3 weeks ago, the dude is messing up a lot.

yeah no way there will be a rematch. Dana White said they hate each other way too much, its not healthy for the sport.

I hope they dont ban Khabib, although he should be punished, and his teammates really need to go. Jumping into the octagon was a fucking disgrace. No matter who started what, that was criminal.

Yeah forgot about that one too, not legal either.

And Tony Ferguson is the only match for Khabib, only the 5th time it's going to be announced, can't wait for it to be cancelled once again! Just give Conor another Diaz fight, or GSP, I don't know.

I don't know, it's a really dangerous game to play, especially since the referee didn't stop the fight for that, considering it wasn't eyepokes but regular jabs that it his eyes. Other than that, Lewis seems to fight a bit similarly to Yoel Romero from the second round onwards (Yoel does it from the get go), in that he's in full recovery/defensive mode and explodes suddenly to knock his opponent out.
Works well since they are both lacking the stamina to go for a more traditional style, and buff enough to survive. Once Volkov dropped his pressure, it gave more time for Lewis to recover between each rush attempt, that's why it looked like he was in a bad position in the first two rounds, and only exhausted in the third.

Not really Herb Deans fault. It's a title fight. Rules tend to be a tad more lenient here to please the fans. Tho I could have appreciated a few more warnings to Conor for toeing the fence for way too long, and especially the knee.

I don't recall the late stoppage from 2-3 weeks ago so I can't comment on that, but historically the Dean has been on point on those as well so that would surprise me, tho everyone can make mistakes I suppose.

Dean is clearly losing his edge, the past year wasn't the greatest for him, between weird calls about non agression, multiple pokes in the eyes not sanctionned (no point deduction after 3+ pokes is a joke, it's already a big advantage), people tapping out of a submission for some solid seconds or just passing out without notice (Blanco?), and Murtazaliev vs Dolloway incredibly late stoppage.

You can be lenient about point deduction for this kind of heated fight, but if the fighters think they can get away with anything, it messes with the bout. I'd currently put Goddard or Herzog way above him.

I feel like late/early stoppages are tough. Mostly because you have people pulling you every direction. I'm reminded of boxing where a lot of fights are stopped before it would even be considered in UFC, in order to protect the competitors but it certainly takes away from the mass appeal entertainment value no-question.

Just like the after fight antics were bad for the ethics of the sport but incredible for buzz.
