rip mcgregor tho, ;-; really wanted him to win but khabib just looks totally unstoppable in the ring
I missed round 1... how went that?
Next opponent will be the strange guy that fought in the other fight (well, should).

I'm sad
Yeah idk, unfortunate turn of events, but the result can't really be disputed. Weak performance by McG, idk what he's going to do from here. I guess Tony Ferguson vs Khabib next, and if McGregor doesn't retire, then he gets the winner of Nate vs Poirier, damn, too bad.

It's sad that we're only going to hear about the post fight antics and not the performance of khabib ... i doubted him but it was pure domination even dropped him on the feet

Daley was banned. And that was for one punch. But Daley lost the fight. Dana wasn't going to tell khabib he's gone right there. But he's gone, and he'll either fly home and never come back or have a nice talk with the police.

I don't usually follow UFC so I might not be able to give the best description of what happened, but conor was putting some pressure on khabib (didn't get any real flush shots off though) for 1-2 mins, then khabib basically was wrestling him down for the rest of the round.
IIRC the second round was the big ground and pound round (which you might have seen), but first round was mostly ground less pound I think. Someone else might be able to give a better description tho.

McG's striking just didn't look that great.

Yeah, in R1 not much happened. McGregor was on the ground the whole time playing defence, but he didn't take much damage. Pretty good defense without making any progress of getting out of the position.
No way Khabib is done after this, he makes too much money for Dana with this win to be cut - same as McG dolley incident.

Condemn it but promote the shit out of it to once again build a fight out of a criminal assault case

I wonder if there's any chance of a rematch... Also don't think GSP would come out against McG after he just lost, if he won, different situation.

I honestly believe GSP cares about legacy a lot more. The only people I see him fighting now are Woodley after he gets 2~ more wins, and maybe Khabib if he thinks he has a chance vs him.

Woodley does seem like an improved GSP, but at the same time, nobody has any answer for Khabib either. At 155lbs I'm not sure how possible it is to stuff those takedowns. I mean in theory a good wrestler like GSP should be able to handle it, and I suppose Khabib hasn't fought any elite wrestlers, but nobody has been close to stopping him.

does the state of Nevada pay the fighters? or does the UFC?

As far as i could see khabib ''only'' jumped into the crowd to go after dillon danis which was stupid but not unheard of, it doesnt justify a ban imo, but definitely a fine.
However his teamate that assaulted conor should be prosecuted and banned for life

The UFC, the commission just has laws that require the salaries to be made public... And it can charge fines that prevent the fighters fighting in the state until they are paid.

Wow, looks like one dude goes up to punch him in the head, then some other guy comes in behind him x_x
For Conor, definitely looks like an uphill climb to challenge again, def think he might retire unless he's really into fighting more D:
How does ranking/challenging work in the UFC? What happens to Conor's ranking, and do you have to be #1 to challenge the champion? How does the fight situation work now? Also if they don't strip Khabib and he can't come to the states would this mean Khabib stays champion since he can't fight anyway (#5DBackgammon, jk I assume there's like a period where if you don't fight then you lose it?)? Wow lmao
