A new study that seems to poke a hole into the rhetoric about how "99% of diets" fail. After a 2-y intensive CR intervention, ∼50% of CR-induced weight loss was maintained 2 y later, which was probably the result of lasting effects on acquired behaviors and dietary restraint.

On the ice cream note, for a cheat that halo top ice cream is pretty good and you get some decent volume of ice cream for the calories.

Cakes are another matter, and are imo total poison/sabotage/good-for-nothing. Context is everything. For a scrawny 19 year old looking to add mass diet will be different in comparison to a late-20s, early-30s person who now has to contend with a properly "adult" metabolism, joints/ligaments/tendons that have been abused for decades, and providing for themselves under modern "working conditions." Halo Top is the only ice cream I eat now (early 30s), when I eat anything with added sugar at all.

I'm 28, so in a similar boat. I also don't really seek ice cream, which I can't say for my wife.

How do you feel about Airdyne? Swimming, while healthy, is really hard to learn and accesing a pool is sometimes not possible.

Out of shape people just need to take it easy to not hurt themselves
