Yeah, the argument was that the bent over row form put too much passive tension on the lower back and spine. When confronted with the fact that this "passive tension" only manifests when one fails to properly activate their glutes, hamstrings, and core in assuming the bent over position, the author stopped responding, which, I might add, is still the standard operating procedure in the online fitness advice world it seems. Just be cautious with adding weight and work on getting comfortable "sitting" into the bent over form and your lower back will get stronger, not weaker.

I seem to remember bbq being a big deal in Germany, maybe from a zatic post. sounds nice

Most people don't try out hook grip and load up to 230kg lol.

85kg people clean that all the time



Use tape for your thumbs. Deadlifting with hookgrip is tougher than snatch/cleaning, but some elite powerlifters worked into it lately.

somebody somewhere probably contraindicates every exercise. bentover rows are one of those exercises that is like a lesser evil compared to not doing enough rows

Lol tape your thumbs bro. And yeah my thumbs used to feel like they were going to explode. They all good now. Doing deadlift/hangclean complexes with 140kg will turn your thumbs into super thumbs real quick xD

Ran a 21:13 5k today which is almost a minute faster than my previous best. Maybe it's those 440 cal cookies they serve here​ of which I had 3 after lunch ....

Close to Sea level also helps of course.

Do you guys recommend creatine as a supplement? If so, how do you guys get it (i.e. in what form, brand)?

My buddy got some chewables and offered me some but it's fucking 4 chewables for 5 grams (recommended to take them all after working out etc etc), and it seems like such a stupidly large quantity of chewables to get your 5 g/day.

creatine monohydrate in micronized form is dirt cheap in bulk and tastes like nothing

there are literally thousands of studies on its effectiveness: it will help you if you are building strength or high intensity, it is less helpful if you are an endurance athlete; it also is a myostatin inhibitor and almost certainly increases hypertrophy

there are basically no downsides except maybe some upset stomach if you don't drink enough water with it

What igne said. You can get like 600 grams for 8$ on Amazon, just mix it with a shake or water or anything pretty much whenever. 5g/day should be fine, you can do a loading phase of 15/day if you want but whatevs
how reasonable is it to eat off wood instead of your tummy?

Creatine and glucosamine/chondroitin are the three supplements I have least issue telling others to take, as all three have a lot of good science underpinning their use and I have personally seen them work. There are some others that I'd recommend circumstantially, but yeah, creatine is a no brainer so long as someone is drinking enough water.

they are powder tablets, too big to even think about swallowing , but they dissolve instantly if you crunch them in your mouth whilst drinking water

which kind of completely defeats the point of tablets doesnt it.... but they're mixed with caking agent which makes the taste significantly more bearable for me.... o/c i do my best to water them down without it touching my tongue lol

ive tried fine powder creatine twice now, and cant take it for more than a few days, it makes me feel ill (the taste of it haunts me). so i went with this instead and it's been working out fine . i crunch like 2 before i shower then 3 before i leave for gym, or whatever.

Fuck me, does creatine increase hair loss? I see it increases DHT levels a lot. I have like stress-induced alopecia or whatever the hell I think anyone have any experience with/know anything about creatine and hair loss?

Stress induced hairloss should not be co-related to hereditary hairloss which is caused by sensitivity to DHT so it should not matter?

DHT is only a problem for male pattern baldness
