The best Laker game so far was, unsurprisingly, vs the Clippers where Kobe took way less attempts and moved the ball.
The Kings made a lot of sloppy decisions/passes, but boy did they outplay the Clips. I feel like they're going to need a better PG than Collison, even though he's piling up stats so far.
Also, Boogie pulled one of his teammates away from arguing with the refs and made him get back on defense. I wonder if we're gonna see a (near) emotionally-leveled Boogie unleashed on the NBA.

Zach Lowe @ZachLowe_NBA · 3h 3 hours ago Hard to play a better all-around game than DeMarcus Cousins played today. Clips missed bunch of open 3s, but Sacto's early D a nice surprise
Level headed D. Cousins could potentially be the next best big man in the league. Big body, rebound well, passes well, decent post moves, international experience, etc.

I mean.... have you seen this this Lakers lineup?
Well it's not going to get any better this way. At least give them some experience. People thought OKC would be terribad but they just beat Denver and discovered Perry Jones. You might as well give these no-names a chance to get some experience and produce rather than have Kobe burn out trying to do everything.

kobe doesn't seem the type of personality to willingly get stuck in a hopeless situation. his career won't last long enough for lakers to slowly climb out of this hell.
yet there's the 'loyalty contract' the lakers gave him.

Imagine how terror Bosh/Faried would be. Faried would suck all those rebounds up.

Even scarier would be Drummond and not Josh Smith.

Problem is I feel like the Blazers are another Lopez injury away from being kinda hopeless. Then it becomes LMA/Kaman, which is not so pretty. I feel like they're in for a letdown season, simply due to fatigue and depth. Maybe it just looks especially bad because they were playing the Warriors, who are exceptionally deep and loaded with young replacements.

Obviously. The Clippers are a lot better and can do more things well than the Kings. But it was impressive to see Cousins and Jason Thompson make Griffin and DJ look so bad. If Mclemore or Stauskas actually become decent, that's a nice team.

I think Kupchak knows what he's doing. The Lakers are one of those teams where their owners actually need to make money from their team. Most other teams have independently wealthy owners who make their money from a different business. He has fan favorites in Kobe and Lin attracting fans and viewers while tanking the season. Kobe's contract expires before the 2016 season and that's when the attractive free agents come into the market.
There are enough egos in Lakerland that Kupchak can secretly be tanking the season even with the rest of the team not being in on the secret. He's probably on the phone with the analytics department sharing a laugh about Scott's "limit three pointers" offense while the Lakers shoot an ungodly amount of long 2s.
