Even though the Cavs could've still gotten Love in the off-season. I feel like this is a counterfactual we're going to be talking about for a decade. I think it was better for both parties, Lebron wants to contend now and Wiggins will develop better on the Wolves with less pressure/a greater role. I think the trade might be poorer in the long term for the Cavs though. I think the rumors of Love not re-signing are mostly speculation and unfounded but it'll be hilarious if he doesn't.

having said that wiggins is already outperforming his rookie contract and he'll be one of the best contracts going forward if this pace of improvement continues with more physical maturity. dude's finishing well at the rim already and can play good one on one defense. don't think kevin love is the difference for the cavs in terms of winning a championship, and this is the only scenario in whcih the trade would make sense. there's no way cavs or lebron would make the same trade at that same juncture in time with the hindsight knowledge we know now. if they do not win this year then they just paid years of wiggins for a few regular season wins, not worth

Yet many jumped the gun and declared Derrick Rose finished. a meniscectomy is usually the route taken once you've retorn a repaired meniscus. as an example, Dwayne Wade had a meniscectomy in college and was able to play at a peak level for many years before his knee started to deteriorate the last couple of years. also, he may only have a small portion of his meniscus removed. it really boils down to waiting until the surgeon opens him up to see exactly what is going on. an MRI is a quantum leap better than any X-Ray, but its still not perfect. Rose is in a rough spot , but don't count him out yet.

Love just isn't really worth his salary on the Cavs atm. yup imagine if wiggins was on the cavs. but no one could see love sucking so much.

On the whole, I think that we still have to wait and see if Love can have as meaningful of an impact as Bosh did in Miami, as Bosh is clearly the superior defender. While this makes it a lot harder for him to be as useful, the chance is there. At worst, he's a bad defender and a great floor spacer because he warrants the respect of the defense. This won't show up on the boxscore, but Korver-esque gravity is nice stuff.

Rose is in a rough spot , but don't count him out yet. Dwayne Wade and D Rose come back from injuries completely differently. I know the injury and I know some athletes like Wade and Bledsoe that deal with it. But Rose's leg issues are compounded on top of each other, and he's not exactly headstrong when he comes back from injuries. He might make it back to a high level quickly, but at this point I think the onus is on him to prove us wrong, not the other way around. In other news, Lebron James is still the best player in basketball.
