He gathered 55% of the votes vs 33% for the former president Joan Laporta.

Depay always played left winger, so perhaps he was a bit lost as well. Don't think he has any injuries or anything.

Here in german media, I've read several articles over the last weeks, stating that U-XX-competitions tend to get dominated by players born early in the course of a year, since at younger ages, being a few months older makes a big difference physically. Go check out some squads of recent youth world/euro championships, and you will see that most teams consist of >75% of players being born in the first half of the year (the deadline defining date is always the 1st january). According to these articles, most "new xyz"s that fail to live up to the promise are born early in the year. Of course, I dont much about this player, but it was just the first thing that came to my mind to check his day of birth, and well, it fits the pattern.

The book Outliers defines how pro athletes end up being those born in the first couple months of the school year in most sports. Instead of 1/6th its like 1/3rd born in the first two months. You just start ahead and get more opportunities because you are the best due to that big development lead (6 months at 4 years is huge, and that's when my kids started playing). If you haven't read that book I would suggest it. It gets into programming, athletes, students, musicians, and so forth and analyzes why the best have been the best. Its a great read.
