In a secret deal made at the G7 Merkel and Obama made a bet if the US won, Germany would officially call football soccer. The argument is seen in this photo where Merkel says "bring it on!" + Show Spoiler + ![]()

Bobby Wood who scored both, had like 9 appearances and 3 goals for a team relegated from 2. Bundesliga Jordan Morris instrumental in both set ups (and almost scored that ridiculous outside foot shot) is a sophomore at Stanford, and plays completely amateur for the university. And they are legit putting stuff together against guys like Boateng and Mustafi.

Germany hasn't had one truly good performance since the World Cup. I don't know if it's a hangover, if they're just not giving their all because it's friendlies/qualifiers, if Löw really isn't the man for the job and it's showing, or what's going on, but they need to get their shit together. They easily have the best pooled talent in Europe right now and it would be such a waste for them to not get at least one more major trophy before a big chunk of the players retire internationally.

Also, it doesn't take THAT much skill to get MLS fans hyped about someone coming to their team.

There are not a whole lot of options for a new MLS team to get recognizable american talent that aren't already playing in MLS. Truth is Mix has struggled for NYCFC as well and the team is one of the worst in MLS despite having David Villa as a striker. Basically Mix seems to be a guy that plays better for the national team than for his club teams.

The additional effect of the De Gea signing is of course Casillas likely moving on. The info on Jesus was much appreciated. And it also seems like Copa America has sneaked up on me. I guess is the pressure is greatest on Brazil to wash out the bad taste from last year's world cup.
