He's not arguing that a goalkeeper isn't worth 30m, he is arguing that a goalkeeper isn't worth 30m for one year. He has a point if De Gea definitely wants to play for Real and would transfer for free in a year. | ||

Depends a lot on which players are on the team before also. If you have a decent goalkeeper but no competitive strikers, spending 30m on another goalkeeper gives you much less of an upgrade than spending the same amount on a striker. | ||

But there is plenty of precedent for it and alot can change in a year. Perez likes to make his guys feel wanted and he wants to pay for them. The only teams that make prudent decisions like that are Bayern Munich or Arsenal (but Arsenal dont have the same pull so they get shafted). Splashing 30 mil for De Gea now says 'I want you' the way only Perez can say it and alot can happen in a year. Florentino doesnt take chances with toys he wants. The better decision still would be to just wait. United isnt getting any better next season and De Gea will want to leave if Real comes knocking a season in. And frankly his stock will only rise with Uniteds shitty D giving him plenty of chances to look godly. | ||

Winning streaks are nice and all but except the Liverpool game I didnt see anything to make me thing United can be taken seriously in Europe or as title contendors. Also, i read they set a date of December - February for the new election date wut? They have an EGM booked for July why dont they do everything there or at least set it for August at the latest, such a joke! | ||
