Poor is too good a term for him Never heard of him before and he has only 8 2nd division games under his belt

Speaking of Atkinson. He fucked up my accumulator by not giving a clear penalty on Akpom. He gave free kick instead

and yeah they have a couple expensive signings so far but mostly it just seems to showcase how superior LVG is to moyes. ;p Keep it in your pants mate, its preseason! Vidal + one CB and their squad looks quite a bit better than the one that won 2012/2013 imo. Add to it that they have NO EC competition (which imo was a great boost for Liverpool's PL success last year), that they're probably the hungriest they've been for a couple decades, and that LVG seems absolutely brilliant and the perfect coach for their team right now.. I guess I still have chelsea as favorites but if I were to make a prediction right now, I'd have chelsea 1 manchester clubs at 2-3 arsenal 4 liverpool 5. don't see tottenham or everton really challenging those teams this season. I pretty much agree, though I fancy City as favorites. Bit of a tossup between Liverpool, Arsenal and United for me. Depends how the new signings work out, I think United need more than one new CB. I also think their new formation can be exploited alot by teams that transition fast. Arsenal will be Arsenal, they always seem to find a way to loose their foooting. Liverpool would have been favorites for me if they had kept Suarez (and if he wasn´t banned as usual), now they are a wildcard. Anything can happen, I think Sterling is gonna be in contention for player of the year come may, he´ll be the closest to a replacement for Suarez me thinks.

Wow Chelsea lost 0:3 against Bremen a team who will have to fight for place ~ 10 or so.

Chelsea's pre-season strategy was a weird one, the teams aren't the most impressive to say the least.. But they gave Costa a bit of confidence I guess. I'd say it was a bad decision if it wasn't Mourinho.. he probably knows what he's doing. But when you compare it to a pre-season such as that of Liverpool playing teams such as: United, City, Dortmund, AC Milan.. it just feels like you're getting a more tense work out.
But one match means nothing at all

Transfer News
According to El Confidencial, Paris St Germain could announce the signing of Angel di Maria from Real Madrid tomorrow. PSG will reportedly pay €75million (£59.9m) to sign Di Maria on a four-year contract.
Costa Rica keeper Keylor Navas joins Real Madrid
PSG sticking two fingers up to UEFA and its FFP i see.... €75million Di Maria + €60 something Million for Luiz? How is that even possible?

This just have to stop. I think 100 Million for Ronaldo or 90 for Neymar are kinda ok in a weird and perverted way because they are really special on and off the field but i would have no problem to list 20 offensive midfield players that are as good or are in the same prize region as Di Maria is. Dont get me wrong he is really good and i would love to see him with Bayern Munich but more for something around 35M€.
I remember how everyone freaked out at the 100 for Ronald a couple of years ago but with todays prizes it was almost "under prized".

yeah I doubt di maria will generate sick tshirt sales

It's fine with me if some ridiculously rich oil prince's want to sink billions into their toys.

just sucks when you're thinking about how they got those billions from exploiting millions. So basically you're fine with exploiting millions for some toy.

If you get that deep into it yes its wrong. But the money is there anyway. What are they realistically going to do with it? At least its sinking back into the economy rather than sitting in a vault/account somewhere.

Ah, how I have missed tinkering with my fantasy team. Now finally time for some rosterbating, feels so good, surely this is my year!

I used to think FM was simply broken when teams refused like 150m pounds for someone not that amazing, but it seems they may just be really good at predicting the future if this price inflation keeps going.

haha, i've always been curious as to what sort of data the makers of FM use for their game.

As a Dortmund fan I'm not sure about the best preseason opponents. Seeing that a lot of teams go to America and play some kind of small champions league I get extremely scared that we test against 3rd and lower league teams. Hardest opponent yet was Chievo Verona. We'll have Liverpool and afterwards a "meaningless" cup game against Bayern but that's it. Our season starts with a tough match against Bayer Leverkusen.
But on the other hand we have a few German internationals still missing and everybody looks extremely exhausted during the games due to the high intensity of training.
But can you doubt the likes of Mourinho and Klopp based on pre-season fixtures?

For teams like Dortmund, Bayern or Chelsea these games are pretty meaningless i think. Its possible that it helps some players to get into a rhytm better but not in a big way. Everyone knows the other players, the coach the system and stuff.
Were it really is helpful is if the coach is new. For example i think the pre season games of ManU are pretty important but not because of the games itself but because you can simulate the stuff around. How does Van Gaal prepare pre game, how does he coach on field and how does he likes to manage halftime are things you cant really simulate.
For lower lvl teams there might be a psychological factor like i can see the players of Werder Bremen beeing hyped up the next days because they beated Chelsea 3-0 but for the big teams i dont think they matter at all.
There is a reason most pre season games for the big ones are to make $, for fans, for PR or some sort of local deal with the host of the training camp.

Manchester City should be favorites to win PL.
Pellegrini did some good transfers in this transfer window. Fernando and Mangala were what they needed, And Sagna added more depth to roster. It's really going to be hard to break Kompany and Mangala.
Rodgers have spent Suarez's money really well but i think Liverpool will back where they belong, mid table. He bought bunch of unexperienced players i dont really expect them to finish top 4.
Chelsea's title chance is mostly depends on Costa, but still they have the best all around roster after MCity so they should be top 4 without problem.
Manchester United will be the in title race if they sign Vidal, LVG rocks.
Arsenal not going to win shit as long as they have Giroud as striker.
