Löw just took Bayern Munich and added a couple other people that already knew each other perfectly. Simeone took Atletico, a completely meh team with low budget, a forged them into a La Liga champion and CL finalist. What Atletico did last year was absolutely amazing. Ridiculous award. your meh team, came from winning europa league the year before simeone came in im not saying he didnt do anything, he its a stupidly great coach and has done magic with AM, but they werent a bunch of dumb players with a ball who were fighting for relegation every single year (they did paid about €45m for Radamel Falcao, im not so sure many teams can do that)

The year they won that Europa League im sure was the year they should of been allowed in the champions league but could not get in due to financial restraints. But yeah i agree with what you say they werent scrubs but they weren't Barca and Real beaters though ![]() They were what the Premier league equivalent of Everton? But as Oli says it still makes him a stupidly good manager with them.

This is why idiots like Charlie Adam does the things they do. Because people have done it before without reaction. It's also why there's so much wrestling on set pieces. There's no set precedent to continuously give penalties for it, even though it's a foul. I'll concede the Neymar point because I do in fact not watch La Liga too much nowadays, but I'll be devil's advocate to your stats: Just because you get fouled a lot, doesn't mean you aren't a diver that's often looking to go down. (Also, wouldn't every occasion where he's deemed to have been fouled result in a foul? Meaning those fouls could just as easily have been dives.) Jack Wilshere gets fouled a ton because his play-style invites it (though for his health's sake, he should stop it), but that doesn't mean he rolls five times in the grass after escaping a tackle. @Pande: I think Hazard was the most fouled player of the last PL season. Pretty sure you posted something along those lines before. I dont think Messi's fouls were red card offenses, it would have been incredibly harsh. The tackle on the keeper he has eyes on the ball throughout and actually pulls out a bit when he realises hes close. Check the replay. The other one was hardly a foul. Also I dont think its ok for fouls to not get called. This is a classic example of cherry picking something you disagree with and ignoring context. I go on and on about MMA football and how its garbage and needs to be better officiated and you go and express your horror at my comment that its good no one got sent off. Im happy no one got sent off because retrospectively no one got hurt and things remained relatively civil, had someone gone off, it would have probably blown up someone might have gotten hurt . The drama that would have ensued would've been ridiculous. The worst thing a referee can do in addition to not calling a game properly is calling it inconsistently. Finally its rather weak to express a disagreement and hide behind the fact that you are playing devils advocate. You disagree thats fine. He asked for stats I offered stats. I couldve been a dick about and said "take that you little bitch" because people only really asks for stats when they are 99 percent sure you cant back them up. And knowing Sharkie I'd bet my house on that conjecutre being applicable here. I already said Neymar gets fouled alot because of his playstyle, in fact I threw in a solid para on why he gets fouled more than Messi even though Messi prob invites more tackles. You just swapped Wilshere in + Show Spoiler + (and please Jack Wilshere is not even half the player Neymar is, neither in achievement or talent.) He does go down easier, but to me a dive is minimal to no contact and I challenge you find me more than 3-4 instances where he went for a dive and there was nothing to hamper him physically involved. Yes Hazard is the most fouled player in the PL and he is imo the best player. Yes Sanchez has a better record but no one has defenders pissing their pants more than Hazard in full flow.
