When we're talking Chelsea, before they got the Russian money for example they had no more accomplishments than say.. AZ Alkmaar. Doesn't matter though. Times are changing, deal with it. It's nice to reminisce the old days, and being an Ajax fan I definitely do miss the glory days, but money has corrupted football beyond repair and that's just what we have to live with.

Edit: Anyway what I mean to say is that I don't think you can lay the blame on Chelsea or City for the current turn of events. They too had to endure times where businessmen came in and had the likes of Leeds, Nottingham forest and derby win the league. However nowadays the whole of Europe has been influenced by this and not just England.

Perfectly hit. Look at that bend. This guy has already scored a million free kicks and he's only 20.

I'll give you above average in the PL, they were certainly knocking on the door (but you never took them seriously as contendors, sorta like Everton today) But please the "European Success" being the one off CWC and Super cup wins isnt something I would brag about. The CWC was even below UEFA cup level. You had clubs you had never even heard of playing that thing like second division in I dont knowwww like Slovakia playing that shit. Thats why they killed it.

Pretty great article on Dortmund's failure. Some pretty damning statistics for a couple players, particularly Mkhitaryan, who's shooting on target at an embarrassing 33% (and passing at a disappointing 73%, with no goals to his name this year).

He's one for the future for sure and will doubtlessly be playing in the EPL within a season or two. Age: 21 Position: Striker Style: Strong, determined, skillful, intelligent, prolific and instinctive - a complete striker capable of playingalone or in a partnership. Nationality: eligible for DR Congo and England. Recently withdrew from the DR Congo squad, obviously hasn't made his choice yet. History: Assombalonga signed for Watford at 17 and went out on loan a few times, each time getting some goals but not too many. On 31 July 2013, League One side Peterborough United broke their previous transfer record to sign Assombalonga from Watford on a four-year deal. He went on to score 23 goals for Peterborough in 46 appearances: This Summer, Nottingham Forest broke their transfer record to sign Assombalonga for at least £5m with future fees. He has so far scored 12 goals for Forest in 19 appearances, playing with confidence at a higher level: Manager Stuart Pearce has commented on how hard he works, how many things he does off the ball to help the team, and how he is always the first at training and the last to leave. Watch out, he's one of very few quality young english strikers, and could well be a future international if he manages to get into the EPL within a year or two.

The spanish football comitee, with all their unbiased awesomeness, decides the yellow card is legit. Two of the 3 guys in the comitee are actual former RM partners (supporters with seat who payed their fee). Literally nothing new in joke-istan.
