I hope Hazard shots don't cost Chelsea. He could of had a hatrick in that first half. Blocked shots and weak efforts. Oh well, Chelsea much better going forward again and the closing down from the front is pretty unreal. Ramires tactical genius ploy as well. Sterling should of lined up vs Azpilicueta but Azpi is just as quick and great 1on1 defender so they put him on the other side, Mourinho knew this might happens so starts Ramires due to his pace is just second to no one.
I believe Benfica fans had a good nickname for him ^_^

Like Scholes and McManaman said, he blocked Ramires run, didn't look at the ball. Yes Ramires had his arms up but like they said "he has right to push him out of the way he is blocking his run" lol.

Cristiano is better as a whole, Messi obviously but football its about "moments" and in this moment Messi looks tired, uninterested in playing and lazy, but he will come to his former self fear not (Once barcelona finds a decent manager) When i say that, i mean compared to his old self, compared to 99% of players right now, Messi is still better.
I think Messi looks fine at the moment. He looks reasonably refreshed after the WC (where he did look like he had cement boots on). Barca as a whole need a bit to re-calibrate I suspect. I agree Ronaldo has been more impressive this season and last season, but, over their entire career's I think Messi is stronger, and I think once they both retire, that will remain the same.

i think most of the analysts are saying the same thing. sterling obstructed ramires run and was rightfully shown the yellow for that.

Actually, the whole Messi vs Ronaldo debate is irrelevant because the best player in the world is Philipp Lahm.

Good game so far. Chelsea playing very strong and Liverpool not as bad as I expected.
|
I think Ramires could have been booked along with Sterling though for his elbow to Sterling's head which was not necessary. Agree with the Sterling booking though because it clearly was to impede his run.

I wonder if Black Shoes would make a comeback

Not wise by Ivanovic. Very good ref thus far in my opinion.

Sterling did obstruct the run and that’s a foul and I agree the free kick should have been given we're not playing American Rugby here. But that doesn't make it right to elbow him in the face. That’s surely at least a yellow if not a straight red.

No way to give straight red. It could have been yellow possibly because it was a cynical elbow in retaliation/defense of Sterling's block but not more.

hazard losing focus! could have squared it to ramires

Jesus Lovren is terrible. No reason to concede possession there.

Maybe a yellow card would have been reasonable but I've seen red cards give for a lot less than deliberately elbowing someone as hard you can in the face before. I think the real problem is that the referee just didn't see it. It just seems so harsh on Sterling to receive a smash in the face like that look up and then see himself been yellow carded.

ivanovic is such a weakling

Unbelievable. Absolute shithouse by Chelsea there. Chelsea didn't want to kick the ball out when their player was injured and lost possession and expect Liverpool to kick it out?
|
balotelli please...at least be smarter about committing these kinds of fouls lol...not right in front of the ref!

DIEGO MOTHER FUCKING COSTA

If you're not going to put the ball out why the hell should the other team when you lose possesion. Pretty sure there was nothing wrong Ivanovic. I'm hesitant to say it was time wasting though because why wouldn't Chelsea want to go on an try and win this?
Which they probablly just have.
